ooh neat a post it on the login page
Some mesh crashes were repaired. Crashing or disconnecting on any of those other things aren't issues known to relate to the viewer...
...so if they occur on FS even after a clean install, my suggestion would be to file a support JIRA including crash logs.
So we can figure out what's going on for you.
Skye, it would be a support JIRA. You can ask for support inworld for the issue as well, but I suggested a JIRA specifically because it's
the best way to share large files like viewer logs.
Lucie, we always recommend doing a clean install to avoid setting conflicts or program files not replacing old ones properly:
But back to the JIRA thing... the idea is that if we have the chance to look at your logs, we can try to help you get the problem fixed.
But we're getting ahead of ourselves, since you haven't tried the new version yet
Could be that the problems are all cleared up in this version. So I'd recommend a clean install first off and then we'll see
If you're not up for using the viewer, that's your call. I just help folks how to use it if they want to.
sighs at her grammatical typos..
I understand what you're saying about the previous version, sure. There were some significant changes in 4.0.1.
I can't promise that the particular issues you were having were cleared up, but it's worth a try.
Ok cool! If you end up having any problems you
do want to troubleshoot, you can let us know in support.
we've also got the inworld support group: secondlife:///app/group/3a1be8d4-01f3-bc1a-2703-442f0cc8f2dd/about
sometimes it takes a little persistence

... the support team isn't perfect, but we will help when we can
when will you guys add more than one alpha layers or tattoo layers
oooh exciting... oh, I may be missing it but looks like nothing to deal with the massive memory consumption yet?
General Question: What does the check mark mean on the microphone button? I just updated and have no idea what that means.
SusanBerry: If you mean for Phoenix, that'll depend on if outside developers do it, and do it adequately. Then it
may go in.
Firestorm, of course, already has them.
AnandaS: Most beta testers experienced better performance on 4.0 than they had on 3.3. Performance is, however, system-specific, so YMMV.
ArtanisNexen: That does what the lock icon used to do -- if it's checked, then when you click the mic button it will lock on or lock off..
as opposed to being in push-to-talk mode, where you would need to continuously press the mic button down while speaking.
Did they fix the disappearing alpha mesh issue I wonder?
I had to ask on that one, and the answer was "maybe." The bug was fixed at LL's end, though the fix has not been released in their viewer.
Uncertain right now whether it made it into Firestorm in time. I'm not able to test it myself.
Have you tried the new one yet Lotus?
I'm having much better performance on it on Mac than I had on 3.3.
Why the removal of the Snapshot to Flickr option? That was so handy.
For me it was laggy yesterday, I let it set on one of Phoenix-Firestorms support areas while I was sleeping, and that seemed to help a ton.
Snapshot to Flickr never worked for me anyway, but I guess it's because it's a feature that's not in V3 and is therefore not allowed.
I believe the issue with Flickr is that the change to FUI broke it. If it's possible to put it back in, it'll happen.
