Which is what they ought to do. Guy was basically a jerk about the whole thing
Amazing story. Apple has more responsibility now in their supply chain than... just about anyone.
When I was with Apple, I was privy to an internal report that came out a week before this piece aired. It detailed - pretty granularly-
the audit that Apple had just completed, the issues that they found, the suppliers that were not in compliance, and the ones who made great
strides. It angered me to see so much backlash against Apple, when I knew that what was being said wasn't true. Sadly, I was not at liberty
to say anything about it. Really, I'm still not..
So it's VERY cool that this has been discovered to be "performance art" from someone with an Apple-shaped ax to grind
It's good to see Apple vindicated, knowing how well they treated Lu when he was one of their employees.
This reiterates the question from the other week - when is it acceptable to shape facts for effect, when it's not intended as journalism?
That's no excuse for Daisey to have allowed the false impression, of course, but it WAS id'd as a "monologue".
