So I feel like it would be weird? Also, I'd have no idea what to, like...do. Or say.
I used to be pretty good at RP; I swear I did
Nowadays it seems I am more suited to backseat driving my roommate's Skyrim character
I think it's because my old game was smallish and LJ-format and Luceti is compleeetely different
So it's not that I'm taking longer to get into the swing of it so much as I don't know how to get into the swing of it
What I'd kind of like to do is to app another character who has more backstory and gets along with strangers better.
And is used to weirdness. I feel like that'd help me get a leg up.
I hope everyone enjoyed my unsolicited ranting!
Unsolicited ranting is always welcome!
It can be hard to just dive into memes, but people are really friendly about it! If there's a char you've seen around but haven't found a
way to interact with, that can be a fun way to start
Otherwise, randomly tagging into people's posts also helps. Sally is welcome to freak out or wtf or laugh at anything. Sometimes the people
who don't adjust well have some of the best reactions...especially if they didn't insta-adjust after two weeks.
and if you just want to strengthen CR you've actually started, appointment posts are lovely. Most of us have them on our journals and
they're for one-on-one interactions that might not warrant a fresh post...but are still CR building. Like if Jilly was to help Sally move
furniture, they wouldn't need a brand new post...it could take place in one of their appointment posts and just be a private thing.
Or if Sally and Lestrade got together for coffee and bitching about Luceti. lol
They're handy ways to get a handle on what your char is doing "behind closed doors" so to speak
/hello massive wall of text
I like massive text walls, haha
No, seriously, I really appreciate the encouragement. I know I'm just getting myself down but it's a hard habit to break
Also I love Jilly so if this furniture moving thing actually happens that would be pretty great, lol
Are these, like...actual books, that she comes from, by the way? ...I can probably just google that
That's the author's name.
And I think you are doing a wonderful job. Luceti is definitely intimidating at first, and it took me quite awhile to branch out at all!
Just because there are so many people and so much stuff.
Yeah, it is kind of weird, though. My last game was kind of tiny and now I'm like WHERE DID ALL THIS STUFF COME FROM
THERE IS SO MUCH OF IT AND SO MANY PEOPLE AGH
I am trying very hard to adjust, though!
It's totally fine to take it slow, adjust a little at a time. We all understand the need to do that!
I feel like all I do is complain about it, lol. I actually really like luceti and everyone is super cool! I'm just an awkward penguin.
Most of us have been there.
It took me so long to really get comfortable tagging around, and even now I'm sometimes like "...What?"
I'm a derp so usually I'm like "AGH NO LEAVING MUST HIDE AGH" but in this case I'm like "THIS IS COOL but I don't know how to do talking"
How long have you been in luceti, by the way? I'm pretty sure I didn't ask, or else my memory is horrible again
In May, it'll be a year, actually.
Which does not seem possible.
Man I was in my old game for THREE YEARS
Which just seemed completely insane
I was there until it closed, so that was a bit depressing. But I made friends! So that's good.
But the only game I was in before that was the same format as Luceti, but it was weird
/nod Luceti was my first journal-based game, too.
Like I didn't understand some things and everyone acted like I should have known everything already or why was I even there
So I was kind of wary going into other journal-based games until I realized the people from my old game were just assholes
And most places are not really like that
Yeeeeah. It's always the few who ruin the image of the many.
I had a friend who played Sanji there and I apped Zoro because like, nowhere else could I do that without it being a pairing thing
So it was lame that it didn't work out at all
...Also those are characters from One Piece, I have no idea if you know One Piece at all
Yeah I realized after I said that that several people I follow know One Piece and you were not one of them, lol
Echoing Lynn. Journal based is a bit tricky, but it gets easier! And I'm totally up for furniture moving
