And they come with instructions on adding poses for the AO. I never buy AO's, I always put my own together.

but it's hard to make a good one, like to make sure each stand has smooth transitions etc

Nobody is really looking that hard, you don't need smooth transitions but putting together an ao is super easy

I've always wondered about that too, might be fun to try making it.
