I need a programmer who has expertise with C#
I'll be paying $4000 for work from july to august.
I have no idea if anyone on my timeline does programming but replurking anyways!
Thank you, you baller pieces of sexinesses!
what for? I know some people who might be interested, but they'd want more details than that...
It's for the development of the stealth mechanic in a game. Also some fine tweaking of combat mechanics and enemy dynamics.
hmm, ok, I'll let them know
I'll hopefully be learning C, and if not, I can always bug my professors for things.
I took C and C++ but that was like..six years ago XD
Man, I really appreciate you guys helping me spread the word. I have a very specific pipeline of work to follow.
Not having a programmer with be highly detrimental
iLu plurk. So much support! Hopefully I'll get a response soon!
Damn. I would be all over this, but out of all the languages, C# is not one of them.
My brother knows it but he's probably too busy, he usually doesn't even get home until late... :/
But I could ask him on Sunday maybe. It might be something he can do pretty easily
What company is this for?
Do you need music at all for your game? (I know I'm grasping at straws here, but money sounds really great right now)
(and I can play stuff and compose stuff)
Replurking for signal boost, and good luck!
pinging a friend, idr if she knows this or not
oh. i know c# ... but it's been a while since i've programmed in it.
My dad has contacts. Can you give him specifics?
We are soft reset studios. This is our inauguration year. We're based out of Edmonton and we are currently developing our first game.
We are utilizing the unity engine. Which supports both c# and java. But unity's java is it's own language.
It's for the development of the stealth mechanic in a game. Also some fine tweaking of combat mechanics and enemy dynamics.
$4000 dollars for 2 months of working at your own pace.
Also I saw someone mention something about music up there.
you pay in advance or...?
I will pay half now and prorate the rest biweekly.
Or a midway payment or only upon completion. I know someone that would be good for this potentially, but I know they'll want to -
protect their work/pocket too if they're working for a stranger with a company history that is quite short.
I'm looking for an ambient sound track for a darker and suspenseful mood. If you have something like that maybe we can strike up a contract!
I'll be going to lunch with said coder. I don't know how far up the stacks this type of work is but I think it'd be up their alley
Alright! Well I'm more than willing to negotiate if they are willing to at least give me a chance to explain things
Surely! They have a degree in comp engineering and have done a fair amount of dev work
I THINK C is actually the person's preferred and main language but don't quote me there
By the way, hello I'm Duckie
Haha hello duckie. I'm Bruce. Aka batman to my circle of plurkers. Very nice to make your acquaintance.
And thank you for your help. I cannot express enough

DDD
/programmer here, but sadly I do not have time on top of my full time job to even offer considering it :C
Hi Bruce

Duckie is a real life nickname but I wish people called me Batman IRL...
Oh shit son, new Edmonton blood on the market? Replurked like nuts.
I'll send my brother the info. This is exactly up his alley (he actually went into video game programming to start with)
But he might be too busy :<
Ye-yeeee we're bioware's new competition! Bwahaha. Maybe in 10 years when we can afford to sell out to ea too.
Starting a company is really tough, it usually takes a few years to profit
But if you work hard to make quality products I'm sure you guys will make it
Hey Bruce, my boyfriend is indeed interested and studied C but has questions! Mind
if we email you? His name is Eliott and my real name is Elise (to look out). His BSE is in Computer Engineering.
ilovesatellites: Hello, Duckie! As Bruce's girlfriend-wife-secretary, I can say you're more than welcome to email him.
Anyone interested in his video game project, with or without questions, is welcome to email him. He'll get back to you guys asap.
He works overtime today, though, so you might not get an immediate response unless I reply for him via relayed text messages.
If anyone gets to this plurk late or has a difficult time scrolling, Bruce's email is
[email protected]
I'll replurk, too, once most of my friends list is awake.
And thank you to everyone that's been spreading the word and/or poking interested friends. We really appreciate it!
I'm actually really hopeful towards this game from what I've heard of it so far. Stealthy suspenseful games that I enjoy are in short supply
lately. It's hard to find a game with a really good atmosphere.
Unfortunately the Unity engine only supports java and c# right now unless I am mistaken.
Re: music, I'm not sure how much I can help. I'm mostly familiar with composing on Sibelius
Are there any programs you know of that could produce the effect that you want?
Most I could offer would be art, but good luck to you! I'll replurk to signalboost this.
add me to the list of programmers that know C but not C# sorry!! /replurks
I will forever remember this plurk and give a special thanks to everyone here! Hold me to it!
Also if anyone is interested We're looking for 3-d Artists and anyone who is well versed in the Unity engine to pitch an effort. I will --
Compensate once I get things going. but for now I can't afford anything but charity
worked with this before, and if you're still looking I am actually available during those times and interested.
it possible to work out of my own place, or would I need to be accessible to the company?
I'm not entirely sure that it's necessary any longer, but I've got a programmer friend with the requested skillset.
If you're still looking, they've expressed interest in the job as described? I can private plurk you contact information if it's desired.
I know C# but I'm not sure I'm at the skill level you guys would probably want, but will replurk this anyway!
Yeah a private plurk would be great lol. Also my email is valeo
Also this is a job you can work remotely with. I'll send the details to see if this is something within your abilities.
Also I am in the mountain time zone. If anyone is wondering about the odd response times.
I'm mountain time as well.
have you found someone yet?
my boyfriend is a programmer for Tullow Oil. He might have some spare time. What do you need done?
Aah, damn. I'm learning game programming, but I'm still kinda amateur and haven't used C# before. Replurking regardless; good luck!
I have yet to find someone! I will email you later today when I get home from work lol my phone doesn't email for some reason.
.... there are people who use C#
^ my reaction. Good luck though!
I'm pretty familiar with C# (one of my fav languages, actually). But, stealth mechanics? I'm not that much of an expert x.x
(I wonder if C# is the best choice for a game, though. C++ is usually much preferred for game programming)
That is generally what is utilized in most engines but Unity doesn't support it, alas.
I have experience with C#.NET, mostly on database backend and user interface stuff, but it's not a difficult language to work with.
That said, I'm also doing full-time contract work in Storage Validation, so available time would probably be an issue
Honestly, anyone who's good at both C++ and Java can probably pick up C# very easily, it's very similar to Java
I started writing in C# with no experience, working straight out of API docs, based mainly on Java experience.
er, I started writing in C# with no training/tutorials/etc.
whoa good to know thanks
Karinu
Thank you everyone for helping out! We had found a godsend of a programmer. Who ever sent Twilight my way; thank you muchly!
We will have a prototype out by late july or early august. Keep following this post for more updates!
Also everyone involved in this plurk prior to these posts can be included in the special thanks section of our credits when time comes.
Many thanks again and my best regards for all of you!
misquared, idk if this up your alley but ima ping you anyway
this is three months old and they found someone already dude
Sadly, I don't really know C#
Ooh... hello! I'm reading over this plurk...
I've done some programming in C#, but nothing quite as complicated as a stealth mechanic
however, if you don't mind me being a bit of a newb with a learning curb, I would be interested!
but if you want someone with more experience, I understand :')
oh whoops, i didn't see the date on this
