Do I do them in the order the games were released, or in the order the cases took place on the timeline?

The order the cases take would make more sense imho, but it's probably easier to go in order of game?

The only reason I'm thinking about starting with the first game is because it has a lot of Edgeworth's backstory

actually, I think what I'll do is go to a wiki to refresh my memory on DL-6 and SL-9, and then go by the order of the cases

I'll have to look them up on youtube, too. I lost my copies of the original trilogy a while back ;;
