seemed rather displeased he wandering the castle against her orders.
wasn't use to this whole orders thing. And at least he'd know where to go now if she told him something without having to explain it.
too busy in the meantime to deal with him yet. She had the guards and servants watch him like a hawk instead.
had noticed, but was glad he could at least walk around. He wandered over towards the throne room, curious about it.
...noticed him heading towards that direction on her way from the archives and pulled him aside immediately.
made a small sound and glared at her. "What?"
simply pushed him against the wall in the dark and empty hallway they were in. " Don't push your luck."
glared down at her. "Push my luck for what? I'm already in hell."
huffs, " Go into that room and you'll be dead the moment you step in along with your lille en. You still have the mark of a Clover on you."
frowned a bit as he looked over to the door. "What's in there?"
shakes her head, " Someone you wouldn't want to meet." She taps on the mark on her neck after, " Only Hearts are allowed in that room."
shrugs, " The King has his preferences and even then, the most trusted are allowed there."
made a small sound and nodded. "I'll stay away from there, then."
nods slowly as she turned towards the hallway, " Come back to my study, I have things I need you to do for me."
rolled his eyes but followed her.
he should really clean up on that attitude.
didn't see anything he had to change.
opened the door to her study which was practically a library as she shifted her glasses and put her scrolls down. " Dust off the shelves and
_ organize them neatly. There's no point in looking into any of the books either."
nodded and went to do so, though he was curious as to why not to look at the books.
sat down at her desk and started to work. She frankly didn't want to deal with any messes he created from the spells used to seal the books.
pauses for a moment, " Go fetch me some tea when you're done. You may have your meal in that time but no longer than half an hour."
huffed and kept quiet as he kept dusting.
smirks at that and continues to work.
continued working until he was totally finished and sighed.
glances over and waves to him for a brief moment to go to her.
hesitated before walking over.
hands him a scroll as she adjusted her glasses, " Read that out aloud for me."
opened it up and started to read quietly.
shakes her head, " Louder. I don't need to mumbling to a sheet." She thought he should've figured out it was a recipe by now.
sighs and starts speaking louder. "Why a recipe?"
didn't say anything until she had completed copying it down. " Don't question me. I only told you to be my eyes, not my forethought."
looks over to him as she put the finished scroll aside. " Don't just stand there. Go fetch my afternoon tea and bring it to the gardens."
left and went to get some. He found this humiliating.
he should get used to it. She cleaned up her study and went to her gardens after.
came out a bit later with some tea for her.
tending to her flowers again, frowning only for a brief moment when a section of the flowers were wilting.
put the tea on the table and went to go look at the flowers wilting.
didn't notice him surprisingly enough as she gave all her attention to tending the roses.
just watched, curious about her and her relation with them.
highly valued them since they meant a lot to her...
didn't think he needed to know such a thing...
Still wouldn't tell him at all.
didn't think he deserved to know...yet.
wanted to know regardless.
still not going to tell him until the time comes.
just rolled his eyes and went to look at some other roses.
got up slowly after before she caught him in the corner of her eyes. " Go back to your room."
growls at him, " You're bound to get into trouble again."
rolled his eyes and headed to his room.
glad he was starting to listen at the very least. She continued to prune her flowers again before sitting down and enjoying her tea.
just got to his room and looked out the window.
leaned back in her chair as she took her glasses off and rubbed her temples from her bad vision.
wondered why it was getting so bad so suddenly.
wouldn't say anything about it and that he had no need to question. As long as he did his duty for the month, she would remove his curse.
would do what she said in that case...
blinks as she noticed that it was getting late and reached out for her glasses before realizing it wasn't on the table or on herself.
just leaned against the window sill and sighed. He'd have to get use to this for a while.
frowns as she looked around and saw that no one was there. She simply sighed and kept trying to find her glasses.
noticed her and just watched, wondering why she was having such issues.
didn't need to tell him why, she bit her lip and sighed as she gave up and leaned back in her seat.
wondered why she seemed so helpless.
wasn't in particular powerful in the first place. She closed her eyes and just rested instead.
just huffed and went to rest in that case.
shifted slightly and tried to relax. Being outside in the Kingdom of Hearts during the night was by far a really dangerous thing_
_ to do but she was essentially immobilized with her sight and she didn't want the King to find out.
figured as much. Once it got darker he huffed and got up, and went to find her. If she died he'd not be able to get rid of the curse.
wouldn't die but other things that could happen to her weren't very pleasant either. Though she had fallen asleep in the meantime.
got out side and looked her over, sighing. "Heart."
far too out of it and fatigued to notice that he was calling for her at all.
shook her shoulder slightly.
never really told anyone she was a deep sleeper..so now he knew.
sighs and looked around, figuring he'd just wait for her to wakeup.
would continue to sleep unknowingly.
sighs and goes to pick her up. He was starting to hear things and wouldn't think twice, since this was the Kingdom of Hearts.
mumbled very quietly in her sleep possibly mentioning a few names from her past.
idly listened to her as he carried her back to her room.
might have said a name that he was quite used too...
stopped just for a moment to look down at her and shook his head. He had an active imagination.
had absolutely no idea but she started to repeat herself and possibly named a close relative of his...like his mor.
twitched a bit when he heard that and got to her room, putting her on the bed and just watches her.
curled up once she was on the bed. Though if she found out he managed to enter her bedroom by just walking in, she would be surprised.
had to talk his way through mostly, but since he had her in his arms unharmed he didn't have much issue.
figured that was one problem but the other was entering it without being hit by a forcefield. Usually that killed people on the spot...
... didn't even know of it. He loosely pulled the blankets up on her and went to leave.
eventually settled down but she did say one last name. Most likely the most familiar one considering it was his but she never asked for_
_ his name in the first place or even knew about it.
stopped just before he left the room. Instead of taking this chance to wander around the castle again, he got a chair and sat near the
window. He wanted to question her when she woke up...
would be quite puzzled at him being there in the first place really. She shifted and continued to sleep.
closed his eyes and rested in the mean time. He wasn't moving until he knew the answers...
shifted slight again as it drew closer to the morning. She felt odd since it seemed more comfortable than usual.
still resting. He had his head lowered and his arms crossed, with one leg over the other.
sat up slowly and looked around as she recognized her room. Though she needed her glasses to see properly.
still slightly asleep, still tired from the previous days.
sighs faintly but stared at him oddly, finding it kind of hard to recognize him. She looked through the_
_ drawer of her bedside table for another pair of glasses she had.
started to stir awake, but slowly.
ran a hand through her hair after as she waited for her eye sight to adjust a bit before getting out of the bed.
made a small sound and lifted his head to look at her, his eyes narrowed.
paid no attention to him as she went to the bathroom to wash up.
huffed and ran a hand through his hair. He'd let her wash up first.
wasn't in the mood to chat yet...then again the fact she didn't lash out at him being in her room was odd too.
thought that as well. He wondered if this was her normally in the morning.
wouldn't say of course. She rubbed her temples as she returned from the bathroom and poured herself a glass of water.
"How do you know my mothers name?"
paused just as she was about to take a sip and looks over to him. "...Who?"
huffs. "You said her name in your sleep. You must know it."
stared at him oddly as she tried to recall any names that were from mothers that she knew, " I did...?"
nods. "As well as my name."
froze at that before heading to get changed, " I don't even know your name. It was probably a coincidence."
glared and got up walking over to her. "It's not a coincidence if you uttered my mothers name as well as mine. So tell me how you know them"
narrows her eyes at him, "...Her name was Elise, ja?"
narrowed his eyes in return and nodded.
sighs, " She was my caretaker when I was locked up in the castle towers of the old capital of the corrupted king."
frowned slightly at that but nodded.
just went to change after. " Is that all you want to know?"
shakes his head. "How did you find out my name?"
shakes her head still not entirely believe he was the boy from her past, " Your mor spoke about you a lot."
"Why? Why would my mother speak to someone like you?"
glances over to him, " What would you do to have a terrified cursed child to warm up to you when she has done nothing wrong?"
shrugged a bit. He still didn't want to believe his mother was a caretaker for her.
went to get dressed after, " The rose bushes were grown from seeds the she gave me."
looked at her for a moment before going to look out the window to see the roses.
shakes her head and just changed into some more comfortable robes, " Keep your eyes to the window."
went to glance at her but once he noticed what she was doing he looked back out again. He missed his mother and his garden...
didn't think she needed to explain how she died. It was gruesome enough that it brought back bad memories.
wanted to know... He didn't remember anything from the attack.
wasnt in the mood to talk about it yet. She glances over to him after straightening her robes, " Go get my breakfast...and for yourself."
raised his brow a bit at the 'yourself' part but nodded and walked out. His mind was now occupied with the roses.
Might have just treated him with some kindness. She simply went to her study to work after.
brought her breakfast to her once it was ready. He carefully put the tray down on an area that wasn't covered.
glances for a moment and continued to work. " Go get changed after your done eating. We're surveying the city today."
huffed and nodded as he left to grab some food. He hated Hearts clothes...
Rolls her eyes, " I did say to bring your breakfast here and change after. I have some briefing to do before you do anything reckless."
figured she'd not want him around, but went to get some food. He came back a little later, with a small tray for himself.
shakes her head as she never did state anything about that. The reason she'll ever snap is if he touch her flowers without permission.
couldn't help it. He missed his garden and taking care of his flowers...
Finds that he has a term to serve here and he'll go back to his little garden and girl once he was done.
sat down and ate a little, looking around as well.
had nothing special in her study. It had rows of shelves, her desk and the large table they were eating on. Her room wasn't elaborate either
still found it better than making conversation.
ate quietly and quickly without a word until she started to brief him, " Today's tasks are simple. Finish them early and you have time off."
nodded. He'd probably try and get back home to his garden...
continued to eat after, " That is only if we finish for the day without any problems. I frankly don't care where you go unless its the_
nodded faintly. He was still thinking of ways he could get at the King for what he's done to his life...
thats a rather stupid idea to think of it in the first place. If it weren't gor he, he'll be dead now.
still thought he'd have a chance to get at him...
...finds that absolutely stupid and would jeopardize his country even more.
still wanted to try. He had to do something for the chaos the idiot King had done.
sighs and continues to eat. She didn't say she didn't warn him.
finished up and sat back, sighing quietly.
started to clean up once she was done, " I'll tell you the rest on the way to the stables." She went to get her sword after.
nodded and got up to wait for her.
strapped the sword to her belt and had the servants take away the trays before locking up her room once they were in the hallway.
followed her as they walked, looking around as well.
Started heading to the stables explaining his duties on the way.
paid little attention to her.
flicks the side of his head as she stopped suddenly. " I doubt you'll be getting any free time today."
made a sound and looked at her. "Why?"
shakes her head, " Repeat all the things I've just stated."
nods to the guards that had prepared her steed earlier as they entered the stables, " Thought so."
wondered if he really had to ride as well... He'd be so tempted to just go back home.
he'll be in serious trouble if he abandons his duties, not from her but from the King.
wanted to go back home. He missed it.
would remind him kindly deserted were treated with death and he knew what that would mean quite well.
.... sighed and got himself prepared for horseback.
shakes her head and waited for him to get ready after mounting her horse.
shifted a bit before heading out of the stables.
leads the way with a few more guards following behind as she headed for the gates of the castle to the city.
kept close to her, oddly enough trusting her more than her guards.
essentially had to patrol the city and apprehend anything that was considered poisonous to the city.
looked around, not finding much of anything out of place.
nods to the guards to get rid of the beggars in the streets and have them be tossed into the prison cart.
thought that was rather harsh...
couldn't disobey the orders of the King. This was the assigned duty after all.
she should reconsider how her King thought.
thought together they could..
would never go against the King's orders either way, especially since he was her only family. She noticed a child begging up ahead_
_ and had her men stand down before she quickly got off her horse and scolded the child to not be playing pretend in such a place.
((Derp on my part sorry xD))
((... Oh. Pfft. I'm just impatient. 8D ))
a bit amazed she did that. And knew that he was playing pretend...
simply acting since she knew the consequences that the children faced in prison if they were caught without her around. She nods to the_
_ men to search the poorer parts of the city as she told them she would bring the child home.
just followed her, not wanting to be left alone.
found a few more children that were on the streets and headed to an orphanage close to the edge of the inner city.
wondered why they were all without parents...
that's an obvious answer with the grand war and many small villages being destroyed as a result. She brought the children to a rather old_
_ mansion and greet the guard curtly. This was perhaps the only dangerous secret she would keep from her cousin.
wondered why she was doing this.... She didn't seem to have a heart before.
always had a soft spot for orphans. She greeted the lady in charge of the orphanage with a small smile_
_ who seemed surprised that she had another guest aside from the children.
just looked inside as they talked, examining the place.
didn't think it was anything much but an old place. She nods over to the children as another women appeared to help the old lady out/
just watched, keeping their horses behaved.
made an embarrassed sound as the elderly woman teased her about bringing a male to this place while she tried to explain herself.
huffs and looked away. He had no affiliation with her...
he knew where some of his priorities were at the very least. She took a sack of gold she had to pay for the orphanage fees before leaving.
just watched her when she came back to her horse.
simply go onto her house without another word and started back to the inner parts of the city again.
followed close beside her. "Why?"
glances over and smirks, " Why what?"
shrugs, " Don't know what you are talking about."
"If you don't tell me I'll inform the King."
stopped and looks over to him, " Who is he going to believe more, you or I? And even if you do, you will be the cause of the death_
_ of the children, not I. I've done all I needed to do."
frowned at that. He didn't want to be responsible for their deaths, even if they were Hearts... they were still children.
he really needs to plan ahead before trying to threaten her at all. This was her territory after all.
really should have known better... regardless, he just kept his mouth shut and looked around.
had just led the way to the poorer parts of town to check on the businesses.
.. kept closer to her. He didn't like the poorer parts of any town.
glanced over to him at that but kept going as the streets grew grim.
kept even closer to her now, both hands tight around the reins of his horse.
didn't see what was so bad as she continued through. She only had to get off her horse once the streets were starting to get narrow.
just never did well in the poorer parts...
quite confused at that as she notices a quarrel up ahead and goes to settle it.
kept looking ahead, then noticed the quarrel and slowed down a bit.
just went ahead, breaking it up with ease once they recognized who she was.
glad at that moment that she had that kind of power, just by being ther.
looks at him oddly when he was standing so far away. " You're gonna get mugged if you stay so far."
frowned and quickly got closer to her. He was strong, but didn't know how tough they were here..
started her way again. Unfortunately her poor sight didn't help her in catching any glimpse of the brawl from before that started escalate.
didn't want her getting into trouble, but at the same time he didn't want to help her..
just kept walking narrowing shifting her head in time to avoid being hit by flying debris.
startled a bit at that and looked towards where it came from.
turned her head before pushing him aside to the alleyway she saw a few of them brandish illegal firearms from the Diamond Kingdom.
made a sound when he was pushed, and went to go see why. He was curious.
narrowed her eyes as she ducked down almost covering him the moment shots were made.
cursed a bit and looked at her. "Get off me."
rolls her eyes and shoves him to the side. " Those firearms are bound to explode at any moment."
raised his brow. "How do you know that?"
tugs at her collar as she cursed that their horses went back to the castle, " Anything from the Kingdom of Diamonds is rigged so far."
growls as the fight grew worse, " It's their sort of thing. They though we were stupid enough not to find out."
shrugs. "I thought so too."
flinched when she heard a rather loud and startling explosion close to her ear causing it bleed slightly.
yelled out and covered his ears from that.
shakes her head to shaking off the dizziness, "...Told..you so." She huffed as she tried to stand up straight.
noticed her difficulty and got her off him, before helping her sit p.
held her head while wincing slightly. She jumped when there was another explosion which broke her glasses on the spot.
cursed at that and covered his ears while shaking his head. It was starting to throw him off his balance.
cursed quietly as she stumbled as she tried to move away, falling again in the meantime. These fools were idiots.
got up and rubbed his ears, cursing some more. He just wanted to get out of here.
tugged her gloves off as she tried to focus and send a firestorm in the direction of where the explosions came from.
just wanted to leave, but if he left her he was worried the guards would be after him... He didn't know what to do.
narrowed her eyes as she looked over to his direction using her hearing, " Why are you standing there?! Go back now!" She snapped quickly.
"I'm not going back without you. I can't risk my life."
rolls her eyes, " I can take care of myself but I can't guarantee you living."
sighs. "I don't care, I'm not leaving without you."
huffs, " Don't be stupid. I don't like clingy men."
glares. "I don't care. I'm not risking my life for you by going back alone. Now come!" He took her arm and started to pull her.
grew nervous at that and tried to pull her arm back. " L-let go!" She really didn't like being touched.
didn't care, he just started taking her back.
punched him in return with full force as she growled. " I SAID LET GO!"
hissed and fell, holding the side of his fave.
bit her lip and just turned to head back to the fight to settle it down even if she was practically blind and her hearing was distorted.
quickly got up and tackled her to the ground. "Nee!"
struggled to push him off as she hissed at that. " Get off me!"
"I will if you would listen to me and leave!"
shifted uneasily, " Nej! I don't need to listen to you!"
growls. "I'm leaving with you whether you like it or not!" He picked her up and started bringing her back.
snarls at him in a slightly demonic response as she punched him again. " Put. Me. DOWN!"
grabbed his throat as she gritted her teeth, " Do it, or I'll kill you right now."
cursed and struggled a bit with her, glaring down. "You're basically powerless, right now." He didn't much care about himself, he just
wanted the princess to be okay.
smirks cruelly as she snorted smoke, " You really want to bet your left on that?!"
glared at her before sighing and putting her down.
shoves him aside, the moment her feet touched the ground before erupting a flame covered wall between them. " Away with you, filth!"
startled at that and backed up from it. It was clear he was a little more than nervous.
snorts and went to settle the fight on her own without being hindered by him.
just backed up until he was against the wall and closed his eyes.
made it disappear the moment she left the alleyway and into the fray. She set all the idiots on fire as the guards from the castle came.
kept up against the wall, keeping his eyes closed. He felt the heat of the fire leave, but still didn't risk opening his eyes.
returned after to see if he was still there as her vision was fading badly. She flicked his forehead lightly at that.
flinched before looking at her, some sweat on his forehead.
chuckles faintly at that as she strained her eyes to focus on him, " You're such a bizarre child like before."
glared a bit. "You don't know anything about me." He looked around before heading back to the castle.
shakes her head as she laughs stumbled a bit as she followed behind him and collapsed to the ground.
heard her and slowly looked back, just watching her.
stayed there on the ground completely out and unconscious.
sighed and picked her up, carrying her back to the palace.
wasn't going to be waking up for a few days and if her cousin found out what had happened, she knew he wasn't going to be pleased.
had no idea what happened, really... He just walked back to the castle, watching out for anything.
continued to be unconscious....and little would he know, blind.
wouldn't know until she told him or something. He got back to the castle and went to her room again to put her to sleep. He thought if
anything she'd just be overly tired.
he was in for a surprise considering the brand was to be reacting more often then not.
hissed quietly when he did... He was glad to get her in her bed and pulled up the blankets before going to leave. He wanted sleep.
would just keep sleeping...she would explain things to him if she had the chance to.
would be slightly interested to know. He just wanted to rest and forget the night though.
he'll have plenty of for the next few days.
