(this was back when he was still a reporter who dealt with triads and she was new from kyoshi island)

but after the initial sparkles faded, a mutual interest in history, crime and snarking kept them together

He had his mother and grandmother sitting next to him; he can't remember what htey look like very well

dragon quest 9! you get to make your own protagonist and I've headcanoned her up a lot

tldr, celestrians/angels are helping people out to get fruit made out of gratitude so they can go to heaven-heaven

some jackass lasers heaven, claudia falls off and gets ordered to find the lost gratitude-fruit so they can get back on track

she proceeds to find it while smiting the shit out of evil and looking fabulous with three ghost friends from a previous life

and gives up heaven-heaven so she can save the world and guard it
