there is very little in this world that i hate doing more than cooking
and there is very little in this world that my parents hate more than cartoons
so i thought it was a fair trade off
dad kind of enjoyed it tho
"it's very well produced, i like the soundtrack."
i think i will just continue to show them one or two episodes every time i have to cook '-'
my mum was like "what are you going to do when you live by yourself" i was just like "um frozen dinners obviously"
look i will happily bake you a cake
or make chocolate truffles (actually next on my to do list!) or chocolate mousse
i just hate actual cooking 8(
and i do all the washing up usually so it's not like i am not helping out
i baked a whole loaf of banana bread to have for breakfast this week and last week i cleaned the whole house
just don't ask me to cook
that said, lemon pepper chicken actually did taste pretty good and the recipe was real simple
but ugh such a hassle for so little reward.
Baking cakes and such is fun. Actual cooking is boring, though. :|
....i. i don't understand
baking is following exacts. cooking is experimenting with everything!!
i dislike baking because it's tedious XD
I like cooking when it's all trying to get the timing right :3
like whoo juggling three things at once
i live on frozen dinners, you'll be okay
ryface: that's why i like it! when it's exact you can't stuff up.
when i get to experimenting i stuff up
other reasons i dislike cooking: time consuming for very little payoff, and the handling of raw meat
ugh feeling the texture of raw meat makes me gag
i am a very tactile person :x
yeah okay that is fair i love eating meat but fuck if i wanna touch it raw
WEIRDLY I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH RAW SEAFOOD but raw meat sdfnjksfdnsdn
haha I have all sorts of tactile issues with icky things but raw meat has never set it off
hahaha HALF MY PROBLEM with cooking is the raw meat situation
if someone else wants to cut and handle the raw meat
i will happily do the other preparations
or wrap it in plastic or something
latex gloves (like the kind they use in surgery) don't help because you can still feel it through the latex
and thicker gloves make it difficult to get anything done and also be sanitary / cost efficient
(we have boxes and boxes of wear once and then throw away disposably latex gloves at home because, doctor household)
you could do things that involve large bits of meat you don't have to touch much! Like roasts
I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THE COOKING PART OF ROASTS
my problem with roasts lies primarily in the eating part
because it's my mother's signature dish
whenever she doesn't know what to do for dinner we have roast
like there are a lot of things you can roast...
it is pretty convenient that way
yeah we eat roast everything approximately twice a week every week
it's gotten to the point where i just look at roast and feel my appetite fading away...
i can still eat it, it's just... not my preferred dish of choice
anyway god i said i was going to bed
really bed now!! night <3
one of my things since moving out has been getting a repertoire of halfarsed recipes together. would you be interested if I posted them?
absolutely
when I say halfarsed, I basically mean defrost meat + marinade + heat = DINNER
when mum told me to make dinner yesterday i went to look up my internet bookmarks to see if there was anything i'd bookmarked over the years
so your only washing up is a chopping board and a frypan
that looked quick and easy to make
and that was basically the only one lmao
everything else was desserts
righto, I'll see about putting as many of those together as I can think of

there's... not a whole lot BUT STILL
also half of them use basil or mint because the stuff grows like a weed in our herb garden. it's awesome
oh we imported our herb garden here do not worry haha
