that my family keeps my Grandpa's ashes in the closet
grandma got all worried that someone had taken them away so i had to get them out and show her
...personally i don't see it as disrespectful, it's just... somewhere on the strange side, and probably a little morbid
probably better than what happened to half o my grandad's
hmmm, i don't see it as strange at all, myself. I mean, some people keep urns on the mantle, so yeah
...we have my dad's ashes somewhere. Actually about a year ago I had to go looking for him because he wasn't on the shelf anymore.
I think mom put him in a closet. shrug
I think this isn't all that uncommon, really.
...lol, i just wonder sometimes about my sense of what is morbid or not, since i don't seem to have much of one
so i tend to over-warn about that? i guess
Nah, I think it's fair warning. It might be weirder/creepy to people who have never had someone's ashes in their home?
considering we just had a conversation with my aunt about what we're going to do with her? No, not that weird >>;;
We had to keep my uncle's ashes in the garage for a while, since we didn't have the funds to bury them on their own at the time.
My grandmother keeps my deceased uncle's ashes in an urn on her fridge, so she can see him every day. So I don't think it's odd. > >
...wow, the fridge is a new idea
but i think my grandma wants to be buried with him... or something...
but she wants to be cremated, too
