but like, okay SAFE ASSUMPTIONS. Without a Peter to bring back home, Walter's cortexiphan trials were less focused on crossing over

the doses were lower (canon!!) and there wasn't as much awful trauma for the kids

And when Olivia ran away, the trials stopped altogether and Nina, knowing about the abusive household background, decided to take them in.

That last part is mentioned at some point.
