did bump into him, much as the other had predicted before. And a bump it is indeed, the jostling of the crowd causing him to be a little_
clumsier than usual. 'Sorry mate.... Netherlands?'
((Since no one else commented ))
made a sound and looked at him. "Ah... you." He was kind of surprised, really. London was a huge place with a ton of people now.
blinks, 'You? You sound over the world to see me there mate.' He grins, 'I have a name you know.'
nodded a little. "Ah, ja, I know. I just wasn't expecting to find you so soon." Or in this crowd, which was starting to get to him.
grins brightly, 'You were looking for me?' He sounds rather pleased, if anything.
shrugged. "I just knew you would be here for sure, compared to other nations. I've not heard that anyone else would actually be here,
besides England of course."
nods to the side, suggesting that they get out of the way. When at the side he smiles, 'So what event are you planning to go to? Can I tag_
nodded as he got out of the way and looked around. "I was gonna try and get to the swimming. Dutch are good swimmers, and rowers."
smiles, 'That's what I was planning on checking out. Looks like we're aiming for the same thing, huh?' He points towards one of the_
buildings. 'Want to sit together?'
shrugs as he headed over. "Why not." He didn't have any issues against being with near him.
grins, 'Brill. I could do with the company.' He leads the way, familiar with the village already. 'Excited?'
shrugs. "I guess." He wasn't much of a vocal guy, even if he was in the lead.
nudges the taller man, 'Show a bit of enthusiasm, eh? They spent at least four years preparing to represent ya.'
rolled his eyes. "Ja, I know. But I show support in other ways than being loud and annoying."
laughs off the dig, smiling brightly. 'I dunno who's being loud and annoying, they're just enjoying themselves mate.'
shrugs. "America has a big ego. And he has that one swimmer who he's known for."
nods, 'Phelps? Or something? Yeah. This is his last year though.' He pushes open one of the staff doors, not one to push through crowds when
he doesn't have to. 'What event are you wanting to see in particular?'
followed him closely. "I just want to see them in general. If there's a style that my country isn't strong in, I might suggest them to work
on it more for the next summer games. But only if they prove that they can take on another stroke without losing shape with the ones they
nods. 'So you're a bit of an expert at this then?' he asks, glancing back at the other as he starts up the stairs to the seats reserved for_
nations. He's giving the other a cheeky grin, eyebrow raised as though he's challenging the other to say yes.
huffed a bit and slightly nodded as he got to the seats and sat down. "It's mandatory for all Dutch citizens to learn how to swim. They're
only taught the basics, but it generally leads to more advanced styles and techniques." That was the main reason he was here now, he wanted
to see how well it has paid off.
the other a bright smile, 'Makes sense mate. You're pretty much water, aren't ya?' He pushes open the door, now heading down to seats closer
to the water. 'Which one are you good at?'
nodded. "The whole country is under the water line. So it doesn't hurt to be prepared." He just shrugged as he thought about it. "I'm
the best in front crawl, but I can do the back stroke almost as fast."
looks the other over, 'Really? I thought you would have been a Breast stroke... maybe a Butterfly.' He finds them decent seats, letting_
the taller nation in first. 'We should race, I'm alright at the front crawl too.'
smirked a bit. "That might be a bit of fun." He walked past, looking at the view before sitting. He was rather powerful in the upper arms.
noticed, that's why he would have said Butterfly or Breaststroke. 'If I win ya have to come visit, no backing out.' He sits himself down_
beside the other, waving to his team.
didn't see any issues with that. "Fine. As long as we go in the shade every once in a bit. I don't think I'd survive otherwise."
grins, 'Whatever ya need mate.' He gets himself comfortable, watching the swimmers warm up in the pool.
spotted out his group and just crossed his arms, nodding. They knew he had his support, and wouldn't be disappointed if they were out of the
smiles, looking rather amused. 'How stoic... would a smile kill ya mate?'
"They know I'm happy for them. They get a smile as a reward if they win." It might be a little harsh, but a genuine smile was rare from him.
smiles easily so he doesn't quite understand. 'How do individuals get a genuine smile then?'
shrugs. "They just need to win and once they do look at me. I meet up with them as well after the competition to congratulate them in
person. I give everyone support though, even if they don't win. I don't want them being discouraged or disappointed in me."
shakes his head, 'Meant a regular person. It's kind of difficult for a lot of people to win a gold medal, ya know.'
sighed and nodded. "I know. Especially with America. They have the most medals... Makes it almost not worth the competition."
shakes his head, 'It's not about winning all the time and all the medals.' He nudges the other, 'And it looks like you'll be Champs in the_
nods and shifted away from the nudging a bit. "I know, but it can be a little discouraging still." He ran a hand through his hair and
gave a quick nod. "We might be a small country, but we can prove ourselves."
shrugs. Australia is trying to keep up his spirits despite the fact he's lagging behind. 'You never know what's gonna happen at these_
nods. "That is true..." He focused on the slight difference in styles between each competitor. "This is where miracles happen for athletes."
nods, watching as some of the competitors started climbing out. 'They'll probably start the heats now.'
nods as he idly tapped his finger on his arm. He wasn't nervous really, just antsy.
watches, eyes trailing after the Dutch team. 'They look ready, you're team. Less nervous than you atleast.' He gives the other a small_
huffed. "I'm not nervous." Though his eyes were fully focused on them. He watched their pulls and strokes closely.
laughs, much more light hearted about the event. His team would try their best, he knew that and at the end of the day... that was what_
mattered. 'Sure, sure thing mate.'
did eye the American team once in a while, silently judging them.
cheers on his team when he watches one of them suffer from fatigue. He's always been a firm believer that a crowd can turn an athletes_
thought so too. The rush and adrenaline really can kick in at that time. He let out a few encouraging words in Dutch, quietly though. He
felt like he was talking to them just a few feet away. It was a bit of a habit for him now.
whoops a few times as he sees the team member dig deep and catch their second wind. The race ends too quickly, and is too close to determine
His eyes immediately on the screen.
((What race should we make it? ))
((Odin, I have no idea. I've not watched swimmin' since the first few days. >~< ))
((Sure. Australia could get this one first. XD ))
knew that the Dutch player had lagged behind near the end, so he watched the screen with a bit less enthusiasm compared to the other.
Tries to hold back his wide smile when he sees his swimmer get silver, especially when he sees how the Dutch swimmer did. 'It was a good_
Race...' he says, giving his swimmer the thumbs up when he looks over.
nodded. "I like swimming more compared to the others too, because theres less chances of a fault. It's pretty basic." He still gave a nod to
his swimmer, showing that he wasn't disappointed at all.
