France

Scotland dit

Wow that is so cool XD
Scotland dit
What was the event?
France
Some sort of celebration of the Empire and Napoleon. I live in his old town XD
France
It was completely unexpected. Went for a quiet walk, ended up following drummers to a field with tents and gunfire
Scotland dit
Wow. That's wicked. You must live in a pretty nice place. XD
France
I kind of live on the edge, so it's not very interesting besides the nearby landmark XD But when you walk into town.... it's beautiful.

What town is that? I might get a chance to go to Paris this October. I might just visit the place for a tour.
France
Promise not to stalk :/
Scotland dit
Oh don't worry. I won't. I just love visiting different places on my spare time.
Scotland dit
That place looks nice is all
France
I know, it's just information over the net ;-)
Scotland dit
I usually get dragged by my friend to her sister-in-law's fashion show in Paris. So when I do, I just end up staying at the hotel
France
oh nice
Scotland dit
oh sorry, my friend is a he. And I guess it's nice. But when I visit, everything's so busy
France
I can imagine! Is Paris nice as a tourist?
Scotland dit
Well I usually don't see much. But I love staying at the bistros, they take a looong time to serve food, but it's worth the wait
Scotland dit
I don't know any good place to visit, so I eat, and then go back to the hotel, so I get bored.
France
There's lots to do if you have money!
Scotland dit
How much money are we talking about?
France
Enough for a social life. But come on, you're hanging out with fashion designers! They must have plenty of ideas and parties
Scotland dit
I don't like those kinds of parties. Most of them are just too loud for my taste.
France
Ah, I'm quite similar. It means life in Paris is even more expensive.
France
because it means museums etc
France
unless you're under 25. lots of stuff is free then
Scotland dit
Well I just squared that age. I don't mind the expense, if it's worth it.
France
You must have done some of the tourist things if you visit so often? XD
France
also, I've been teaching a woman from the Fashion Institute this week XD
France
She's going to New York, made me think of you and Timmy.
Scotland dit
I'm not into fashion, I usually end up as the living walking rack the clothes they call fashionable hang on to.
France
hehehe but there's the link, still :-)
Scotland dit
Not in france, but I did enjoy looking around Japan and America. Mostly, I like touring the Philippines and its waters.
Scotland dit
agreed
France
....wow, I wish I could travel like that XD
Scotland dit
Mostly it involves work and school. But I can't say I regret it
France
Ah, same. Work. But even then I get stuck in a town or city.....
Scotland dit
oh really? Where have you visited?
France
Italy, Spain, Poland and here. But we once had a roadtrip! I'm very proud. 3 meals in 3 countries in one day.
France
It's the only time I've been to a country without working or visiting family XD
Scotland dit
3 meals, in three different countries? Wow, that's awesome. Which countries were they?
Scotland dit
I dream of going to Italy one day, and Poland. That's pretty high up there.
France
poland, czech, slovakia. one day I'll spend more than one day in a country for fun.
France
I really enjoyed Poland. Buuuuuut. The racism and homophobia got me down towards the end.
France
Never realised (or hoped) I would ever consider myself being 'lucky' to be white. Not a great feeling.
Scotland dit
Racism is an aweful thing to deal with in a lot of countries, and in that, I feel lucky to be as pale as chalk
France
Until we see the sun, amirite, my pale brother? (rock)
Scotland dit
I visited czech before for work, for 1 and a half days. What did you see in Slovakia that was unique? What did you like about poland?
Scotland dit
YES!
Scotland dit
if only to live another day
France
Slovakia... the EURO. Wtf. But also, the square was beautiful. It was a pretty beat up town but the square had a lovely well and lights in the trees
France
Also, travelling there....seeing council blocks in the middle o drop dead gorgeous mountains and forests. Very out of place
France
favourite thing about poland was the lifestyle. work, eat, drink, dance like nobody's watching.
France
they look miserable, but they know how to party
Scotland dit
I should place Slovakia in my travel list then, is it expensive to tour there?
Scotland dit
Not so miserable after all. By party, do you mean night party?
France
Dunno about travel, but food etc is cheap as. Despite being on the Euro
France
Yes. Any. Just...they're very hospitable and friendly and.... just, I have some really good memories
France
You need to get in with the locals
France
it's incredible. I'm desperate to go back, but....work
Scotland dit
sounds grand
Scotland dit
if the world doesn't end yet, that's going to be on my winter vacation list.
France
hehehe
France
dude, I really miss Poland in the winter
France
first week or so was amazing. but then it was months of ice and slush
France
but it felt good to get home and to just....look at the world covered in white
France
It doesnt snow where I'm from
Scotland dit
really? much like the phil.
Scotland dit
Okay, next destination will definitely be Poland. I wonder if I need to do any work there in the future.
France
what sort of work do you do, again?
Scotland dit
I work for my friend's company which is a hodgepodge of different ideas his father had for 4 decades, dealing mostly with imports and trade.
France
cool
Scotland dit
So I go to those companies they trade with and represent to make sure everything is going smoothly
France
extra cool
Scotland dit
it is. not my dream job though, but I'm glad that he offered it to me, and he's flexible with work hours since I have school
France
what are you studying?
France
I think you told me, but...
France
I forget things XD
Scotland dit
I am taking my PhD on business ad.
Scotland dit
but my parents are encouraging me to take up law instead.
France
in terms of career and stuff, either is a good option. but law might burn you out too!
Scotland dit
I know. And I'm not yet prepared to sell my soul to be a corporate or criminal lawyer
France
yeah ;/
France
I know a few people who's studied law and some who were lawyers and.... :/
Scotland dit
and?
France
they either just get/got too stressed and couldn't handle it or they didn't enjoy it and quit
France
taking up poorly paid jobs
Scotland dit
that sounds bad.
France
yeah. i'm sure people love it, but I think you have to be determined and dedicated
France
same as medical and educational careers
Scotland dit
maybe I can use that to argue my way out of it. I am actually content with my current job. And if I'd change it, I'd go for my dream job, be a highly paid model
France
more medical tough, since....more studying etc
France
nice! also stressful, I hear, but awesome if you can do it
France
stay away from drugs ;-)
Scotland dit
That's why I admire my friend, studying those books that are taller than me in one semester is no easy task
France
yeah.... I couldn't do it
Scotland dit
the only addiction I have is good food, that's why I lost my career as a model. I gained 100 pounds XD
France
that sort of sucks but not because food>beatuy
Scotland dit
it really sucks
Scotland dit
but I can't say I regreted it when I was doing it. Eating one whole box of pizza at first was great
Scotland dit
then I wanted to try different flavors
Scotland dit
then I wanted to have 2-4 flavors in one meal
Scotland dit
and it always goes well with cola
Scotland dit
and all the studying made me want to skip gym everyday, so it was never a good thing for me, now that I look back
