Yep, it was the same when I moved. You have to call them a lot. eventually they get sick of hearing about it and get it working.

Tori, in many areas (including possibly where Ana lives) BT has a local loop monopoly. There often is nowhere else to take one's business.

Then she should call and call and call and call and make herself a nuisance. They'll help her just to shut her up.
