Thinks it would be a really cool burden... If that makes sense.
didn't like the responsibility involved though.
that some normal people have even more responsibility than heroes at times, it just depends on the cards life deals you.
didn't have any responsibility ever. He wasn't much of a busy man as it was.
's curiosity is peaked, 'What do you work as?'
shrugs. "Florist by day, semi-bar tender at night."
grins, 'A bartender? What bar?'
sighed. "The one down the street. It's pretty quiet normally."
Nods, 'Might have to pop in... What about the florist? Is it the local one?'
nods. "It's the only one that's good. Though, expensive."
Nods, 'I know the place... Can't afford it.' He grins cheekily, 'Maybe you could give me a discount?'
narrowed his eyes a bit. "Depends on what you buy, in that case."
Hums, 'How about a bunch of Carnations.'
shrugs. "Sure. Those can be discounted easily."
of something more challenging, 'How about Tulips?'
narrowed his eyes at him. "No discount."
blinks, 'W-why?' He seems genuinely puzzled at the extreme response.
sighed as he lit a smoke. "Because. They're rare to come by. At least the quality I have."
leans against a wall, 'I guess you have to charge an arm and a leg for flowers if you're maintaining an expensive habit like that.'
shrugged. "My flowers are for the best in town, and I take care and pride in all of them. I get plenty of business anyways."
laughs, 'I wonder if it's repeat business though...' He has to say he finds the other amusing at least.
huffed and tapped his ashes off. "I don't care what you say. All I know is that I'm making money, and people like what I give them."
glances at the other, amusement only growing. 'If I give you a review I'll be sure to mention that.'
raised his brow. "Why? And how?"
holds out a hand, 'I'm William Keanes, Journalist for the Local Paper... you may have seen my name on the front page.' He shrugs, 'And when news is slow, I like to write reviews.'
shook his hand hesitantly. "Oh. I've seen some things. Don't read the news often though."
him a hearty handshake and a wink, 'As long as you read it sometimes. Every paper you buy helps fill my stomach.'
shrugs. "Fair enough. Everyone here is just trying to make a living after all."
smiles, 'Some do better than others.' He steps back, looking around. 'So aren't you even a bit curious about the heroes?'
made a face at that as he stepped out his cig. "Not really. I'm not in to all that high and mighty crap."
raises an eyebrow, 'You really think they believe themselves to be better than others? I think a lot of them would rather be normal...'
shrugged as he looked to the sky. "I still don't see what the whole big deal about them is, really."
hums, 'I think the big deal is that there is so much they could do with the powers they have, so much terror and anguish that they could inflict upon society and instead of opting for that, they protect us...'
sighs. "Some people are just too good hearted I guess." He lit another smoke, shaking his head a bit.
steps away a bit, not much of a smoker himself. 'So you'd use your powers for evil then?'
nods. "Of course. I could get anything I wanted then."
laughs, 'But you'd always be on the run... no chance to enjoy them.'
hummed. "I wouldn't make myself known. And wouldn't terrorise people. Just get what I want and leave."
. 'So you'd actually be causing less harm to society by not denting poor guy's pockets?' He kids.
shrugs. "I'd not specifically aim for one type or group of people. Just whoever gets in my way."
nods, 'What if you rob from a small store and it goes bankrupt though?'
shrugged. "Their own fault."
