strolls into a little grocery store and grabs a basket for her shopping expedition. She wants to pick up some more herbs, pasta, some fresh cheese and vegetables too. Maybe she'll find something unexpected.

looks around for the cheese and finds herself by the meat along the way. Maybe some Italian sausage would be good. In reaching for some she accidentally bumps into the tall German. "Shit. Excuse me."
grunts "It's fine." and waits for her to finish. He studies her while he waits...she looks kind of familiar...
picks up some sausage and places it in her basket. She looks back at the German watching her, "Is something wrong?" There was something about him she couldn't put her finger on.
snaps out of it and shakes his head. "Er, no, I thought I knew you from somewhere is all." He leans over to check the brands of sausages...last time he was here they didn't have any proper German wurst and he_
stuck eating some Italian shit.
blinks at him. He seemed familiar too, but she was pretty sure they had never met before. "...are you a nation?"
starts and spins around to stare at her. Well, he wasn't expecting that. "...yes. I am Germany. Who are you?"
looks confused at his reply. What was with these people? She pouts a little when he asks who she is. "I'm South Italy." Pause. "Are you sure you're Germany?"
dryly "Quite sure, yes. You'd be Romano's counterpart then?" He mentally curses to himself...one Romano was difficult enough to deal with, but two?
frowns worriedly and holds her basket tight in front of her. "I-I'm not a counterpart, dammit." She just couldn't admit such a thing.
muses "Well, technically you are." Noticing Chiara's posture, he quickly adds "Er, not that there's anything wrong with that. Plenty of the other counterparts have come here and they've settled in fine."
isn't sure what to do in this situation. He wishes there was a manual for this sort of thing.
gave him a hard look, perhaps looking a bit like she might cry. "I-I'm not a counterpart! I don't know why people are saying that!" She briskly turns away from him to try to finish her shopping.

sighs. "I just don't understand this." She wanders down the aisle and picks up some cheese to put in her basket. What was she going to do? This person did seem similar to Germany in a way, but it couldn't be...
