so I need some advice. Do I spring for a new one? Or do I just go get the screen replaced and hope like hell I can hang in there until income tax time?

but it sounds like you'd probably benefit from just trying to get a new laptop, imo

instead of spending money to repair the screen then realize, "wow, this is still a piece of crap" and try to get a new one anyway

I've been leaning towards the new laptop idea anyway. My dad sent me 200 bucks to help replace the screen.

well, I was honest, I did text him, tell him I got the money, and will see how long it would take to get it fixed, if it took to long, would do something else.
