about to yell out to him but noticed he seemed... out of it. He walked over and just tilted his head, looking at him.
's fast asleep, despite the bitter air, slumped as he had sunk a bit down on the bench with his head bowed.
smirked and crouched in front of him, leaning in to peck his lips quickly.
frowned lightly before his eyes fluttered open. Drowsy as he was, it took him a few moments to realise what had happened. A blush heated his cheeks as he stared at the other.
tilted his head and smiled his normal happy wide smile. "God morgen, min engel~"
looked rather stunned, then huffed quietly and let go of the figurine to plant his palm on the Dane's forehead, the blush not exactly disappearing with the nickname.
chuckled and took the others hand off his forehead. "M'fine, if that's what ye're askin'." He picked up the knife from the other and the figurine after, turning it around in his hands. "This is cool."
withdrew his hand and sighed, studying him silently for some or other reason. He covered his mouth as he yawned, then shrugged. "Mm.."
raised his brow as he slowly stood up. "Ye seem tired. And got bags under yer eyes. Ye okay?"
sat up straight with the faintest grimace, then nodded and held his hands out. "Give me that back if you're.. done with it, will you?"
rolled his eyes and handed him the items back. "Someone's cranky~"
shifted the wooden figurine and knife in his hands once retrieved, looking the first over with partly open eyes. "Hmm.." He glanced up briefly, then returned his focus to his work. "Nei."
nods. "Jaaaa~ Have ye been gettin' enough sleep and food and stuff?"
rolled his eyes, annoyed, and turned the figurine around before he put the knife to it. "Ja da.. Lots of food."
hums. "But sleeeep~? Have ye had that lately?"
kept quiet as he focused intently on cutting one of the minor details, which he'd normally do with ease, before answering. "I'll get to it."
effectively ignored him and carefully carved on the nisse's face.
paused the movement of his knife, resting the edge lightly against his thumb so it wouldn't accidentally harm the figurine. He blinked heavily once and looked up. ".. Hm?"
just grabbed his arm and headed inside with him.
"Hei-" He protested as he was dragged along, hissing a curse as the blade slipped and cut his thumb.
didn't mean to hurt him, but he was upset that he hadn't been taking care of himself. He brought him to his room and sat him on the bed. "Stay. I'ma get a bandage for yer thumb."
could take care of himself just fine, it was just his subconscious that hindered him from sleeping more often lately. He didn't look happy with the treatment, but was too tired to protest much. He sighed, _
pressing his fingers together so the blood wouldn't make a mess. "Just need a band-aid or somethin'.."
came back with a rabbit band-aid and put it around his finger once he cleaned it up a little. "There~"
didn't look too impressed, though he had the decency to thank him anyway. He pushed himself up from the bed and went to place the figurine and knife on top of the dresser, not content with the unfinished work.
got up and followed him a bit, and once he put the items down he started taking off his shirt.
"Dan," He muttered, and helped him with the task. "Really, I can manage that much myself.."
shrugs. "Gives me a bit of a show, eh?" He couldn't help but chuckle at that.
smirked briefly despite himself, then proceeded to toss the shirt at his face. He turned and walked over to the bed again, stretching his arms above his head as he did so.
flailed a bit and took the shirt off, tossing it to the side. He glanced over to Nor before actually looking at him and smirking.
sat down on the bed and laid down, rolling onto his back. He noticed him looking and simply stared back, quirking a brow.
hummed as he sat on the edge of the bed. "Ye wanna bed time story~?"
blinked drowsily at him, then rolled onto his side so he was facing the opposite wall instead. "Mm nei."
just leaned his back against the headboard. "Far out in the ocean, where the water is as blue as the
prettiest cornflower..."
didn't find it in him to tell him to stop, hearing what fairytale it was. He lay quiet for a while, then shifted just to pull the blanket over himself.
continued the story, in the mood to just tease him with the story but now he was actually getting into it...
almost felt bad for how near he was to falling asleep, having to shake himself occasionally when he realises his eyes have closed. He considered it sort of disrespectful when he knew how much these tales meant.
smiled and stroked the others hair a bit. "Ye can sleep, if ye want. I just got caught up in the story..."
"Mm.. nei, it's.. fi.." He mutters slowly, though despite himself it doesn't take many seconds before he's dozed off.
smiled softly at the other and leaned down to kiss his forehead. "Godnat, Nor..." He quietly got off the bed and pulled the covers up on the other, wanting to keep him warm.
slept soundly, much better than he had whenever he'd tried the past week.
glad for that~ He went downstairs to occupy himself, being quiet for the others sake.
would most likely sleep until evening if he wasn't interrupted.
wouldn't interrupt him then. He wanted him to get nice sleep.
stirred a bit in his sleep some hours later, grumbling as he rolled over on his back and covered his eyes with his arm despite the lack of light.
baking downstairs, unaware that he was awake. He just got bored and did something to occupy himself.
huffed unhappily and finally gave in, a bit disoriented as he sat upright and got out of bed.
heard some movement upstairs and walked over to the stairs. "Nor~ Ye hungry?"
"Mmrr.." He growled, much too quiet to be heard from first floor. He tugged on his shirt and wandered out into the hallway. "Ja.."
smiled and went back to the kitchen. "Good. Food's almost done."
wondered briefly how he could be such a ray of sunshine.. Then realised it wasn't morning at all. He rubbed at his eyes as he joined him in the kitchen, heading straight for the coffeemaker.
put a plate of freshly made pastries on the table. He already had coffee freshly made, knowing the other would go to it first.
smiles weakly when he recognises the scent, instantly in a better mood. He walked up behind the other and snuck his arms loosely around his waist, relaxing against his back.
humming as he was cleaning dishes. He tensed a bit when Nor wrapped his arms around him, but he just smiled and continued washing. "I gotta come over more often when ye just wake up..."
nodded absently and pressed a light kiss to the back of his neck before releasing him and slipping into a seat. He grabs a pastry and pulls the coffee towards him. "Takk."
smirked as he continued to wash the dishes with a faint blush. "It was nothin'..."
glanced over to him over the rim of the coffee mug, smiling discreetly seeing the blush he'd left.
finished washing the dishes and joined him with his own cup of coffee, filled with sugar. He nibbled on a pastry as he watched the other.
would never understand the need for massive amounts sugar and sweets, though he'd given up questioning it decades ago. He chews on a bite while staring calmly back at the Dane.
smirked as he stared back. He'd win staring games always.
would've been humoured by the statement if he'd heard it. Obviously Denmark must've forgotten who he's competing against.
just kept staring. And nibbling.
easily held his gaze. Staring was practically a part of his lifestyle.
determined to win! He had to beat Nor at something.
Håkon
thinks 12 years ago
he can find something else to beat him at, then. Something he at least has a chance at.
thought he hand a chance here... Though suddenly Nina fell from his hair and onto his nose, making him yell and flail backwards, falling back on the chair.
snorts and brings a hand up to hide his smile as he snickers.
rubbed the back of his head as he pouted at Nina. "Fanden, ye scared me Nina." She just giggled and clung to his nose more as he slowly pulled himself back up and sat down again.
had quickly regained his composure by the time Søren sat upright again, casually eating on a pastry while giving Nina a vaguely approving and amused look.
Nina giggled and flew to Nor's hand, nibbling at bits of his pastry.
tore off a part and put it down on the table for her, dropping her down on top of it afterwards. "There you go.. Try not hurtin' your head eatin' like that role model of a caretaker you have."
Nina made a quiet squeak as she was put down, but she just crossed her legs and picked at the pastry, eating it. "Hey, I'm a great caretaker. Sure she can't fly much, but I make sure she never gets hurt."
shrugs, and casts a glance at the fairy. "Mm.. I could perhaps help with that."
raises his brow. "Can ye?
finishes his food and tilts his head noncommittally. "I said perhaps.. Can't quite remember if I've done it before." He knew he'd been more connected to the magical creatures around him when he was younger...
picked up Nina and let her roll around in his hands. "I dunno if... ye should try..."
shakes his head, easily noticing the Dane's hesitation. "I won't, not until I'm sure it'll work, at least."
nodded and kept playing with Nina. He was also scared that if he did fix her wings she'd fly away... He almost wanted her to be dependant on him.
