1. My classroom is in a new part of the building, so things aren't quite working right with the PA system.

2. The building secretary LOVES Christmas, so much so that the office looks like Santa and his elves all exploded.

3. She has started her yearly marathon of broadcasting a local Christmas station across the school's PA system today. It will run for 24 hours a day until the break.

4. Being the ESL teacher, I am actuely aware of the fact that we have several students who are NOT Christian, including Muslim, Hindu, Jewish as well as some Jehovah's Witnesses.

so I asked her "what happens if a parent complains?"

She got offended that I would even bring up the topic of a parent complaining about religion and said "I'm not pushing religion on their kids, it's just Christmas Music!"

"It's only played in the hallways"
Rrishy says

except in the case of my new classroom where the wiring is off so its playing in my room and NOT the hall. :-(

LourdesD: I get that, but at the heart of it, the songs are mainly about Christ, or the Virgin Mary, or Ave Maria, or Hallelujiah, etc. that it really makes me nervous.

I'm already dealing with the fallout from a Civil Rights lawsuit againts the school from before I was there, I don't want to deal with another one.
