vaguely recognized him from the pictures and served a beer to him as she was passing by. " If you need anything, just ask. We're running short on staff today since there was a flu spreading around."
barely gave her a glance as he nodded and brought out some of his art paper.
smiled warmly in return before heading back to continue serving food and drinks. There wasn't a lot of waiters today and everyone seemed to have their hands full.
didn't really care what everyone else was doing. He just wanted to be in his own space for now.
walked by from time to time, noticing that he wasn't with any customer. She complimented on his drawing as she passed by once more and went to bring the customer who wanted his company to him.
nodded faintly at the compliment. He noticed the customer and greeted them, but didn't say much more than hi.
noticed and helped the customer instead, telling her of the regulations and offering to take any orders if need be. She was glad that the customer was able to follow along prior to heading to help out elsewhere.
just like this to any customer, really.
could tell but it was going to drive off customers if he acted that way. She had been working here for quite sometime to know who would get most commission from how they treated their clients.
treated them with pictures. He didn't really care about talking. As long as he didn't offend them, he was in.
knew he wasn't going to stay long if he wasn't going to make any commission from having them order anything. It was a typical happening of these places.
got a customer who came over and requested a drawing. It didn't take him long to draw it.
just noticed the women got bored of him easily and went onto the other hosts.
mostly liked this place because it was quieter than other areas.
didn't find that he was taking work seriously. She blinked when Mathias had wandered sleepily tp her from the staff room. There were plenty of customers that flocked over to him because of how cute he was.
glanced over and raised his brow. He wondered why a kid was here.
picked up her child and watched him hid in her chest bashfully from all the attention he was getting. She apologized promptly and went to bring him back to the staff room. The child was beyond adorable.
guessed he was pretty cute... He wasn't much of a kid person though.
seemed to need a bit of help as she returned as the women kept asking her about the child. She tried to be as nice as possible but she was starting to get harassed a bit.
threw a paper airplane at them. One that unfolded into a landscape
blinks as the females stopped to look at it before looking over to him and asking him about it. She mouthed thanks before going back to work. She did get a bottle of wine for them and put it on her own tab.
explained it, figuring she needed a break.
went back to work, cleaning up tables and bringing customers to different hosts before getting them settled down on the ones they chose. She coughed quietly into her sleeve and continued to push herself.
finished up with his customers then got up and went to her. "Hey, take a break for a while. I'll take over for ye."
finished up with his customers and looked over to her, motioning for her to come to him.
noticed and finished her task before going over, seeing what he needed her for.
just wanted her to rest. It looked like she was pushing herself too hard.
often did to keep herself from worrying. " Is there something you need?"
shakes his head. "You should rest though."
chuckles at him, " I'll be fine. Thank you for your concern though." She went back to work after, though working slower when worn out.
shakes his head a bit as he drew some sketches. Idiot.
coughed a bit more and went to take some medication. She didn't want to get sick.
thought if she was getting sick she shouldn't be working. She'd infect the food.
careful and she knew that she wasn't sick. She had made sure earlier but rather her health hadn't been the best from stressing herself out.
wondered why she'd do that to herself.
had a family to feed after all. She never liked to rely on others for help.
still thought it was a little hard for her to support her family while sick and constantly working.
aware but she wasn't the type to just rest when she was needed. She was used to it after as she have been doing this for several months already.
wouldn't get in her way then.
rather thankful for that. She eventually did go rest in the staff room, more so to keep her child company than think about her own health.
wondered why she was working here, really.
had to pay all the bills and such somehow. This place had good pay and it fitted in her hours. The child just didn't like sticking around his smothering grandmother.
thought as long as he didn't get in his way he'd be fine.
knew Mathias was a good child until she wondered why did he have the picture that was folded up into an airplane earlier. The child seemed to love it so she didn't question it at all.
glad he liked it at least. He made another and threw it towards him.
seemed a bit too tired to noticed but the child went straight to him after out of curiosity with the picture.
kept an eye on the child as she didn't seemed to mind as there was not many patrons or even customers looking for the Dutchman. Mathias seemed quite absorbed on the other hand.
drew some half images so he could finish them off. He even let him borrow some pencils.
served up some juice for them as she passed by. Though Mathias didn't like to talk, his drawings matched up to the others and perhaps surpassing him.
just continued drawing pictures for him to finish. He could do this all day.
sighed and started to help clean up with the closing. Mathias held onto the male as he giggled and enjoyed drawing.
didn't mind, as long as the kid didn't mess up his drawin.
went to get the child and sighed when she saw how attatched he was to him. Mathias never really did that even to Soren.
didn't question it as he looked up to her.
pried the child gently away as she apologized but the child was acting stubborn for once and refused to leave.
nods a bit. "I guess he's yours?"
nods, "Ja.. but he doesn't usually misbehave like this..." Mathias kept clinging to him claiming that he should be his new daddy.
ignored the child as he just sketched.
sighs as she reminded the child not to make mommy sad before he reluctantly let go. She apologized again and reminded him to say goodbye.
nodded and waved to the child. He was a little sad about her situation.
shifted as she turned and coughed away from Mathias. She just reminded the child to behave and asked him nicely not to do that again or she wasn't going to bring him to work.
thought he was rather innocent. Surprisingly he didn't mind him.
knew she was the one to blame but she tried to teach the child to be more understanding while her parents spoiled him. She noticed a few patrons looking the child and decided to leave the safer way.
hoped she'd be okay, surprisingly.
made sure the child was all bundled up before starting to head home. She was worried about being followed and feeling insecure, had the child wait inside while she went to get the car.
went to go talk to the kid...
|Mathias looked to him innocently waiting for his mor. He was often too shy to say much.
sat beside him and just talked about colours and shapes and stuff.
|The child grew quite engaged, describing different shapes that were way beyond his intellect. He didn't notice his mother was taking a lot longer than expected.
had noticed after a while and sighed. "Does your mom normally take this long?"
|The child shook his head as he frowned and noticed as well. He chewed his lip nervously not wanting to be reminded of be left alone like his father did to him.
got up and handed him his bag. "You can look through that if you want. I'll be back." He went to go check on her.
|Mathias said he would protect the bag from evil witches and waited quietly after. The Dane however wasn't so fortunate as she was lying out cold in the parking lot after being attacked from behind.
frowned and checked on her quickly, seeing if she was at least alive.
alive and somewhat breathing. She was bleeding from her temple and her had been obviously broken into with the windows smashed. She was going to be devastated if she realized what happened.
called for an ambulance, wanting to get her help. He didn't know what to do with her kid though..
...would freak out if her child went missing though Mathias had actually followed after him and held onto his pant leg, wondering what was wrong with his mother.
frowned and reassured him she'd be okay.
continued to stay unconscious as Mathias frowned, mentioning the bad people attacked her like they did in the past but there were a lot more cameras back then and she had security guards.
frowned but was glad when the ambulance came. He explained what he saw, and about her kid.
treated slightly before being put on a stretcher and put in the ambulance. Mathias held onto him as the paramedics had to ask him accompany her and the child to the hospital as police arrived on the scene.
sighed and picked up the kid before going with her.
being treated to keep her vitals steady as her child tried hard to keep his composure and not cry. He was always reminded to stay strong no matter what happens.
rubbed his back lightly as he looked her over. This was more drama than he was ready for.
would sincerely apologize the first chance she had. She was starting to stir slightly despite being out of it. She really had taken a beating though the paramedics had noticed that she had been wearing brown _
_contacts and removed them for her. A little while later, they also noticed that her hair was also dyed brown and wondered why she would go to great lengths to conceal herself.
had no idea. It just made him wonder more.
|Mathias just fidgeted and kept quiet, obviously aware of something but he had promised not to tell.
glanced down at him, wondering if it'd help the paramedics what he had to say.
|Mathias flinched and kept his mouth shut tightly as he was caught frozen in fear. It did much of the opposite as it brought up terrible memories that the child tried to suppress.
just kept rubbing his back then.
seemed to blank out as she was being rolled into the hospital and then the emergency room. Mathias wanted to see her but he knew he would be yelled at for being in the way and just stayed with the other male.
took him to the waiting room and sat down, sighing.
eventually started to remember bits and pieces here and there as she was being treated. It was that bastard that send those vicious paparazzi members after her...
had no idea what was going on...
too out of it to notice but the doctor came over to him to ask some questions in regards to his relation to her. She was a rather famous singer but had into hiding due to a scandal _
_caused by her ex-husband lost most of her fortune to him when it wasn't her fault.
just said he was a co-worker... He hadn't seen her before this day.
moved off to a room to rest as Mathias tugged on his sleeve, stubbornly calling him daddy which confused the doctors slightly.
told him to quiet down and kept an eye on him.
sat up quietly after a while. The doctors thought it was better for her to remove all that make up and hair dye that made her look plain that the purposely did.
went to see if they could go see her. The child was getting impatient.
ran a hand through her hair as they gave the others the green light once the diagnosis was done. She hadn't noticed her change yet and tried to remember who attacked her.
brought the kid to the room to see her.
blinks as she went to reach for the child that ran to her, trying to climb onto her bed. "...You're okay." She seemed rather relieved about that as Mathias tugged at her golden locks.
nods as he stood by the door, looking her over a bit. She looked better this way.
glanced over to him, thanking him quietly. Maybe he was right that she was overworking herself and even the doctors confirmed it. She couldn't just quite her job however and simply asked Mathias if he behaved.
said he had, and he did a good job at keeping his art supplies intact.
seemed a bit relieved as she kissed the child lightly on the forehead and thanked him again. She paused before looking to him, "...Do you mind if you can keep quiet about this, just for his_
_ safety?" She was worried about her ex-husband sending people to take away her child from her.
nods. He didn't talk normally, and he had no one to tell anyways.
smiles faintly, genuinely happy even for a small moment because of how relieved she was. She went back to softly reassuring Mathias after, remembering that her expressions often captivated others easily.
watched them for a bit before turning to leave. He felt his job here was done.
glanced over to him after, " Wait a moment. I still haven't gotten your name yet."
put his hand on the door frame as he looked back to her. "Nikolaas."
looks down to Mathias who smiles and waves, " Thank you then Nikolaas. I'll put in a good word for you when I have a chance to talk to Gjertrud." She sighed when the child started to call him daddy again.
shrugged. "It's no big deal." He ignored the child again and headed out with his art supplies.
knew the child shouldn't be mistaking him for her ex-husband. Sure they had the same blond hair and did slick their hair back but she knew he was a lot nicer than the man she divorced with.
had no idea about this guy. He just headed home after a long day.
made a few calls when she could. She had her far bring the child home as she still had to stay for a few days in the hospital until release.
just hoped they'd all be fine.
more so worried for the child's safety. She had the police ensure that her family would stay safe. She was more than aware who was behind this but had no power to fight back.
figured he was in no danger so he just took his time walking home. He tried not to think of her too much.
