been using Google Contacts (and sync) since he started using Android a year and a half ago.
All that shit about data collection. And if ever, I don't want to sync it with my mail contact/ gplus contacts.
sa Facebook lang naman ako may worries about data collection
uses the google mail contacts to transfer and keep all contacts updated. Makes it easier to track all information.
Oh you don't need that. If you're running android and it has FB, you just have to link the contacts from your phonebook.
unless that feature only occurs in the Sony XPERIA series. >_>
~'cause when I use FB on my phone, it asked if I wanted to update contacts (but it showed me how to turn it off in the settings). So after I linked my FB via my phone, my phonebook had Fb contacts on it.
...then I just proceeded to link contacts to the numbers in my SIM/Phone and turned off Auto-Sync.
I prefer to link my google contacts with my FB contacts instead of keeping them on the phone. This way, when I change phones, I don't have to manually transfer all contacts.
And I'm not left to the whims of whatever information people want to place on their FB profiles.
OOH OH!! The XPERIA only gathers email and phone contacts. The Sony Ericson in it comes in handy in that case. ^.^
unless people don't post both. or post fake contacts.
I never posted my number on facebook. Pero what if people synced their facebook contacts and they have my real number, will facebook reflect my real number when others try to sync their facebooks too?
usually yung association at merging ng contacts sa phone lang mismo nangyayari, read-only lang ginagawa ng phone sa facebook contacts, dahil you can't really edit another person's profile to put their number in
Heres a situation I encountered, I have this other account for my side projects, in that profile, it asked if my number is correct. But it showed an old number of mine.
oyama7: yeah. The phone will register two entries until the owners links the entries together
But the thing is, I don't remember putting that old number in facebook.
So is it possible that it was from somebody else's sync which made facebook ask if it was mine?
ahh yan yung sa BlackBerry sync na kalokohan
why I don't like both Facebook AND BlackBerry LOL
I opted not to use that, bad 2nd hand stories about it. Thats why Im considering Google Contacts for my BB.
go lang Google Contacts, mas solid naman privacy policy ng Google based sa simplified explanations ng tech sites na nababasa ko. Saka 'pag may nakitang hole yung mga privacy groups, they explain or patch agad.
Alright. Thanks. Will consider that. Kailangan ko na rin lagay sa cloud yung contacts ko para may backup.
kung ayaw mo mahalu-halo yung contacts mo sa email contacts mo, you could create another account. Mas mahirap lang maintenance nun kung eventually gusto mo both email and phone numbers.
Kaya ako I just used my primary email address, tapos synced just a group. Besides, Android has the "show only contacts with phone numbers" so pwede i-hide yung email only
i mean i-hide yung contacts with only an email
Im not really an email person. TBH, malinis yung Gmail contacts ko.
nope. I don't think it's from somebody else's sync, since that would mean that you gave that person access to your FB acct. for syncing.
you probably put in your number and forgot about it.
alam ko may issue yung BlackBerry sync dati na kahit ibang users may nilagay na number mo at nag-sync sya sa FB, ganyan mangyayari kahit ikaw mismo walang ginagawa.
Im a very paranoid person.

So I never put any valuable information on my FB. Kahit birthday ko hinde tama.
