i used to jump on the train going through the winter mainland sims just to see what was new

but mainland has gone to hell, and even the train is crap now

I agree that it is super hard to find anything good on the mainland anymore. The LL owned winter sims aren't too bad. Some of the ski lifts will work. LOL!
