what kind of theme the dutch was thinking of going by and then maybe he could be of help. If the Netherlands was willing to accept his aid.
didn't see why he wouldn't accept his help, they were neighbours after all. He just wasn't sure exactly what to do, with anything really. He figured he'd just go with a traditional theme as normal, but he
couldn't fully decide for once.
stands beside him with an arm crossed over his chest and one hand on his chin as he taps his nose pensively. "You do have a lot of decorations...I don't think I've ever seen so much...except for at Finlands'."
sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I've made them all. I just get bored and do things like this. I just... have too many now."
did not disagree with that at all. "Why don't we put up a tree first and then go from there?"
nodded a little and headed to the back of his house. "I bought one earlier. Just haven't had time to get it inside." It was awkward to handle a tree alone anyways.
follows him out and notices the impressive tree. He whistles as he walks the length of it. "Where did you find this one?"
grabbed the end of it. "In town. It's surprising what they can get outside of town here."
grabs the other end heaving it up. "Where do you want it?"
started bringing it inside, being careful of the surroundings. "Living room. It's where I'd set aside space."
nods as he heaves it a little higher to get it through the door without too much problems. It doesn't take them long to get it into the living room and upright. He dust his hands and turns his gaze to
Nikolaas. "So, what do you want to start with?"
shrugged as he untied the string around the tree to free it fully. "I guess just decorations that... ugh, I don't know." He was really at a lost for once.
strolls over to the decorations laid out around the house. His lips thin as he glances over them before picking a nice red one from the bunch. "Traditional right." He comments as he steps back to the tree and
places it on one of the branches.
nods and went to get a few more that corresponded with it. At least he was good with colours.
this is a good start and grabs a few more coordinating them as well as he can, seeing as Christmas is one of his favourite holidays it wasn't too hard.
figured it was one of the only ones they had that most of the world had. It was easier to explain their traditions compared to a holiday not celebrated in other countries...
agrees with that train of thought. He goes and grabs some more decorations to add to the tree. "How decorated did you want your place to be?" He needed to know how much time he needed to allocate to this, not
that he had any work luckily.
looked around and calculated what he normally did. "At least the living room should be with the theme. Not sure about the rest of the house.
does a swipe over of the living room. He picks up a red blanket like cloth. "Coffee table?"
nods as he started getting a theme in mind and got a few candles to put near the fireplace and side tables.
pulls everything of the coffee table setting it aside before placing the red-like blanket on the surface and smoothing it out. He found a good center piece and quickly found places to put the other stuff that
appreciated all the help he got. It was better doing this with someone than alone anyways.
can't agree more with that. He wonders if the Dutch wanted a hot drink? He could make some up for them.
wouldn't mind it. He had hot cocoa, tea, coffee, and other things.
can make them a hot cup of hot cocoa. It almost helped with the mood.
wouldn't mind that. He went to the kitchen and got the powder out as well as the pot and milk.
thought he was to do that but decides to just keep decorating. The living room was looking good. It would be fun Christmas here.
left the ingredients out so the other could make the drinks while decorating the kitchen slightly.
heads to the stove and pours a good amount of milk into the pot before palcing it on the stove top. He'd have to watch the milk so it wouldn't boil over.
tried not to clean up after everything the other did. He was just paranoid about his kitchen.
just as paranoid about cleanliness. He doesn't think the Dutch needs to worry. "Do you only have powder for the cocoa or do you have the chocolate tablets?"
shook his head. "Only the powder. I don't normally have company, and it's hard to find good chocolate on sale."
nods, he shouldn't be so pick-y anyway. "It's almost ready. Where do you want me to put your mug?"
shrugged as he fixed some tulips in a vase on the table. "On the counter. I'll get it then we can go rest in the living room."
nods as he mixes the poweder in with the milk in the pot. He hoped the Dutch liked his hot cocoa strong. "ja, okay."
liked everything strong. He spent more time with the tulips, getting tied up in working with them.
had the liquide placed in both mugs and placed Neds on the counter before cleaning everything up immaculately.
appreciated that, it saved him from doing it and he trusted the other. He took his mug and took a sip as he walked to the living room. "It's good."
appreciated the others trust. "Good. I'm glad you like it." He follows the other to the living room cradling his mug. He'd let it cool a little longer before taking a sip.
sat on one side of the couch as he held the mug, liking the warmth it gave out.
took the other side blowing on the mug before taking the first sip and sighing in satisfaction. He loved when it turned out this way. "Good powder."
smirked a bit. "Ja. I have a knack for getting some good things cheaply."
chuckles. "Good skill to have. The place is looking good by the way."
nodded as he looked around. "It is. Better than normal, really. I guess things just seem better during the holiday season."
nods, he couldn't agree more. Even if things seemed bad the christmas cheer definitely lifted spirits. "Weird how that happens."
nods as he took another sip of his cocoa. "What are your plans?"
hadn't really planned his Christmas to thoroughly yet, which was surprising in itself. "Honestly, I was waiting for Gilber to show up so we could discuss in detail but I haven't seen him in weeks." He
sighs. "Have you made any yet?"
shakes his head. "I was planning on being alone like normal, but I have a feeling Elyse this year will keep me company.
- "You could come join us for Christmas dinner. We are neighbours afterall. Loosely related."
shook his head. "I wouldn't want to impose. Besides, I might be busy with traditions here. I don't know what's planned, really."
nods, that was fair. "Well, if you find yourself with no plans. My offer will still stand."
finished off his cocoa and nodded. "I'll keep that into consideration then, dank u."
nods. "Bitte." He continued to sip at his drink. He was a littel slower at drinking it.
relaxed into the couch a bit. "I wonder what most nations alone do."
quirks a brow. "Depends what they like to do on their spare time. For example: Gilbert likes to blog religiously and play guitar."
rolled his eyes. "That's not surprising. Isn't he lonely a lot though?"
sniffs before shrugging. "He acts like he's not."
guess he couldn't judge since he didn't know Prussia personally. "It will be interesting to see who does what this year."
wasn't so sure about that. The Christmas holiday always brought insanity with it as well. "Will you being going to the nation christmas party?" There was one every year for the past many years.
shakes his head. "I doubt it. I'd rather be alone than in a room with loud obnoxious nations."
nods, he'd respect that. "Understandable." Sometimes he felt the same way.
thought the other still had more of an obligation to go to any nation meeting.
