I set up a camera and a scenario where I knew they would steal. Caught them on tape. They still denied it was them in the video.

That particular kid stole a laptop from a room where he was after school doing homework (because he wouldn't do it otherwise) and when mom called for the password, we knew who had it.

She still went to court and said we framed him because we didn't like him. Wonder why he stole...no one was enabling that behavior AT ALL!

Depending on what is stolen we often get the police involved. We have a liaison for situations like theft and vandalism.
