finished his celebrations with the city and went home to spend a quiet night with Dorthe. Or so he planned.
grins to Heimdall and Miss Rabbit for their devious plan as she fixed her sleeves. She really made quite the feast for tonight thanks to the animals.
got home and sighed as he took some of his decorations off and ran a hand through his hair.
poked her head from the kitchen when she heard him arrive. " Welcome home~" She smiled as Heimdall swooped over to him and landed on his head.
made a sound and petted the dragon lightly. "Dank u. It's been a long day.
went over to kiss him on the cheek as a greeting, " Ja, it's Yule after all. I made a good meal to celebrate it too." She was quite excited throughout the entire day.
nods and rubbed her back. "I bet. You always cook great."
went to take his coat after to hang it up. " Mhmm, just wash your hands and sit down at the dining table. I thought it would be a nice change to eat in the dining room instead of the kitchen."
nods a bit and let her take his coat while he went to wash up.
put it away in its usual spot before going to finish up the last bits of setting up and lit the candles on the dining table.
sat down at the dining table and looked around. "It looks like you cooked for a family.."
looks at him oddly as Heimdall sat on his little cushion on the table. " But we are a family after all."
nods. "Ja, but... a large family."
pets Miss Rabbit who hopped onto her seat. " We can have a big appetite instead."
nods as he looked to her. "Is it okay to eat?"
nods as she sat down in the seat next to him. " Ja, we were all waiting for you to come home for it after all."
frowned a bit. "Sorry." He would have come home sooner in that case.
shook her head as she gave him a healthy portion and pushed a glass of wine she poured for him. " Nej, it's fine. Your people are important to you after all."
smiles a bit and nods. "Dank u..." He held his glass up to her. "Vrolijk kerstfeest, Dorthe."
laughs and shook her head, " Det var så lidt." She raised her glass after following his suit, " Glædelig Jul, Nikolaas."
took a small sip before starting to eat the meal she cooked him.
started to eat after sipping on her wine. She had really outdid herself and made it a legitimate Yule feast. There was all sorts of meat like pork, duck, goose and so on.
just took his time eating and looking at everything. It all tasted so good with so many different flavours.
just watched him and refilled his glass of wine every now and then.
didn't know what to talk about, and didn't know if he could anyways. His mouth was rarely empty.
thought it was better they finish eating first. She ate after, enjoying the food herself.
just did that. He was more hungry than he though.
chuckles, " There's dessert after too."
nods a little. "You really went all out, huh?"
handed him a napkin, " For you, always."
kept it close as he continued to eat. He was glad he was hungry.
finished her food slowly, helping feed Heimdall after.
couldn't believe he ate so much, and that there weren't many left overs left.
went to get dessert from the kitchen after refilling his glass of wine.
sipped it, losing count of how many he had.
returned with some ris med mandel and cleared off the table to make room for it.
didn't want her to do all the work so he went to help.

finished her dessert and drank her wine. She thought the meal went well.

shakes his head. "My people know how to react."
raised a brow and just poured another glass for him. " I guess."

finished the rest of the wine before cleaning up. " That's always a good sign."
cleaned up with her, making sure to wipe down the table.
yawned quietly, obviously tired from the day but finished up the cleaning and returning the dining room to its original form. " Is there anything you want to eat tomorrow?"
made a sound. "I want to digest what I just ate before thinking of food for tomorrow."
laughs at that and nods, " Alright then." She retrieved a beer and nursed it quietly once she was settled on the couch in the living room.
brought out a case for them to share as he sat beside her. He sipped his wine, finishing it before switching to beer.
stayed to her one beer for the most part while watching Christmas related movies. Heimdall lugged a giant wrapped box over to the coffee table after.
glanced over to that. "Who's that for?"
chuckles, " Heimdall. He's been nagging for me to let him open it so I told him to hold it off until after dinner."
smirked a bit and nodded. "I see."
went to get his gift from under the Christmas tree after and placed the nicely wrapped box on the coffee table. Heimdall grinned at his own gift. There was a comfy bed and bacon, lots of it.
hums. "What is it?"
shrugs, " Iunno, you'll have to open it to find out." She smirked after. His present was by far the hardest to chose.
rolls his eyes. "I can wait until tomorrow."
shrugs and nods, " Ja that depends if you can get out of bed or not."
raises his brow. "Why would I not?"
shrugs, " I can sleep in the other room if you really have to get up tomorrow morning." She was pushing lightly towards something but the decision always fell to him.
rolls his eyes. "I always get up for the jog, I'm sure I'll be fine."
shrugs again, " If you say so."
thought tonight would be a good night for it, really.
went to help Heimdall set up his bed in her bedroom and put the bacon away in the fridge so it wouldn't spoil.
waited for her to get back. "Do you want your Christmas gifts now, or tomorrow?"
sat down next to him as she stretched. " Tomorrow, to be fair."
nods a little. "You can have one tonight, if yo uwant."
raised a brow, " One? You mean you have more than one present for me?"
nods as he sipped his beer. "Of course. I'd never just get one."
nods slightly in response, " I guess getting one tonight wouldn't hurt."
handed her a mid-sized gift. It was just a box filled of paintings and drawings of her and them together
blinks as she carefully opened the box to see them. She wasn't too surprised seeing it was what he usually got for her. She just admired the paintings one by one. " It's beautiful..."
nods a little. "You always say that."
leaned against him with a smile, " But it's true. Your art is always the best."
smirks. "I've been doing it for years, that's why."
placed a kiss on his cheek after. " Tak, it's a wonderful gift."
nods a little, glad she liked them all.
thought it made her life easier that she had pictures of him...without having to sneak in photos whenever he wasn't looking.
just wanted her to be happy, that's all he's ever wanted.

thankful for that. He finished his beer and looked at the tree, admiring it.
put them away neatly, wanting to figure out how to hang up the pictures later. She just leaned back into the couch to rest.
figured they'd need a new wall or two...
thought it might be better to just redecorate but she'll leave the decision to him. For now, she pinched his side lightly. " It's not as firm as it use to be."
made a sound and shifted. "What isn't?
continued to squish his sides, " You know, your tummy and your sides."
huffs. "It's from all the good meals lately."
lifted up his shirt and ran her fingers along his abs. " Jogging in the morning isn't the only exercise to burn it off." She pinched his side again before pulling away.
huffs and swatted her hand. "Then I'll stop eating."
dropped her smile as she stared at him in disbelief. "...What."
shrugs. "If you say I'm getting to fat, I'll stop eating then. Easy solution."
frowns at that, " I didn't mean it like that..." She was only teasing him.
knew that. He was just joking. Though, he never was good at that.
felt rather guilty and legitimately believed him considering he rarely made jokes. She kept her gaze downcast after and grew quiet.
rolls his eyes. "I was joking, Dorthe."
frowns more at that as was at a considerable loss on what to believe.
shakes his head and got up to flick her in the nose. "I can't not eat your food, anyways. It's too good."
yelped and rubbed her nose as she made another sound after as she looked up to him. " I thought you would hate my cooking or something..."
shakes his head. "If I really cared about what I looked like, I'd do more to keep fit. I think it's just winter that's gotten me a bit out of shape."
sighed and nodded afterwards.
shrugs. "I can watch more of what I eat though, and do a few more exercises around the house."
reached to get another beer. She had planned on drinking one but two might make her feel better. " I guess."
stretched a bit. "Do you have any other plans for the rest of the night?"
shook her head, " Nej, unless spending time with you counts."
shrugs. "What do you want us to do then?"
looked at him blankly, " I thought you had some ideas."
shrugs. "Not really. I had a busy day."
frowns and nods as she was drawing more blanks. " I guess we can just relax then."
nods a little. "Or a walk..."

went to go get his shoes on.
cleaned up before getting their coats. She handed him his coat before putting on her own and slipping on her shoes.
got it on and headed outside, glad it wasn't too cold.

slightly taken by surprised and squeezed his hand lightly after.
smiled a little as he walked around.
reddened as she caught sight of that and rubbed her cheek as she followed his lead.
liked how quiet it was outside. It's like no one was out and everyone was at home.
found some places were still open but they were places to eat. She shifted and continued to look around.
liked the quietness, a lot. It made everything more peaceful.
leaned against him slightly as she walked. She enjoyed thw atmosphere a lot.

took his hand off a bit later and just leaned against it.

raised a brow as a lot of snow fell onto him from the tree. " How about now?"
made a sound and huffed, glaring up to the branches. "Cold."
laughs as she went over to brush it off of him. " Alright then."
brushed it off as well, sighing after. "At least it's not wet snow."
blinks and just moved him out of the way of more falling clumps of snow, " I don't think you should try and jinx yourself now, love."
huffed at her. "Stop that."
rolls her eyes as she leaned over and kissed him. " You never let me call you anything seriously."
nods as he retured the kiss. "I just don't like it.."
frowns, " You don't like anything I call you."
shrugs. "I just... don't like those words out of context."
looked at him in confusion. " I'm using them in the right way."

tempted to push him in just like old times.
glared at her.
hummed innocently in response.
stepped away from her. He didn't want to get wet tonight.
shook her head and went to look at other things.
kept close to her, still hesitant to be beside her.
started heading back as she noticed it was getting colder.
followed beside her, noticing that too. He didn't like the cold much.
just went home quickly. She wanted to stay warm.
closed the door behind them when they did get home, taking his coat off before going to get a blanket for the living room.
shivered as she caught Heimdall who tackled her. She took off her coat and shoes, going to find her slippers after.
watched a bit before sitting on the couch, pulling it around himself.

made a faint sound as she glanced up over to him. " Tak." She always liked how warm he was.

stuck her hands under his shirt randomly and hugged him. " Muuuuuuch better." She grins, though her hands were freezing cold.
made a sound and shivered. "J-ja, I bet."
warmed up before removing her hands from under his shirt and staying warm.
sighed and rubbed his chest to get warm again.
wriggled a bit as she snuggled Heimdall in her lap.
leaned back a bit and looked up. "It's such a quiet night..."
glanced over to him. " Did you want it to be noisy or something?"
shakes his head. "I just really like quiet nights. Especially tonight."
shifted onto his lap and nipped his nose. " Ja? I guess that's a good thing then."
made a sound as he looked at her. "Mhmm. Silence is bliss."
shrugs as she nuzzled him. " I can break that silence quite easily you know." Cue up Christmas specials on the TV.
shakes his head a bit. "Just you is all I need. You generally talk enough for the both of us."
laughs at that and leaned upwards, placing a light kiss on his lip. " I like it when you talk more though." She pouted.
nods and kissed her back. "I don't need to, really."
pulled lightly at his scarf and put it around her neck.
made a sound and went to cover his neck with his hand.
rolled her eyes as she took his hand. " You lost that scar a while back, I can't believe you're still bothered by it."
sighs. "It takes a while to get use to keeping my neck exposed..."
leaned over and left a large mark on his neck. " But there's no one else watching you here."
blushed and tilted his head a bit. "J-ja, but I still feel it..."
nibbled on his skin a bit more before pulling away. " Why is that?"
shrugs. "It's just... a shock to get it, then to take it away. It'll take time."
raised a brow, " It's been like a year already."
nods faintly. "Ja... but still."
sighs as she put the scarf back on him. " I guess there are some things that are impossible to change." She got up and went upstairs to get ready for bed.
frowned a bit and followed her once he turned all the lights off. He couldn't help it...
got changed and had tucked in Heimdall in his new bed. She washed up and went to get ready after.
took off his shirt and pants, getting on his pjs.
seemed a bit surprised as he usually just wore his pajama pants to sleep.

sat on him when she came back from the washroom.
made a sound and looked at her.

pouts at him, " Why else would I want to sit on your lap?"
shrugged and kissed her lightly.
shakes her head and kissed him a bit more deeply for once. " Did you drink a lot earlier?"

pinched his buttocks as she stuck her tongue at him. " Liar." She had actually decided to count how many glasses of wine she served to him.
yelped a bit and held her tighter. "Nee..."
pouts at him, " Three quarters of a bottle of wine and 4 beers doesn't count then?"
shakes his head lightly. He thought the redness on his cheeks was from the cold.
rolls her eyes as she ran her fingers through his hair, messing it up again thoroughly. " Then tell me why are you so warm and yet so red?"
huffs. "I'm just... warm... because I normally am."
raised a brow, " You are really bad at coming up with excuses now." She tugged at his shirt to pull it off so he could be less warm.
huffed but didn't put up any resistance in her taking his shirt off. He felt better after.

made another sound as she shifted a bit to help him.

shakes his head. "I'd like it to happen more often just because it feels good."
pouts, " If I do too many, you'll end up being all drained up in a day or so."
nods a little. "I didn't mean to do it for 24/7. Just every so often is nice." He kissed her cheek after.

smiles lazily as she returned the kiss. " Both."
nods a bit. "I see."
eventually pulled herself off of him and curled up close to his side. " Did you not like it?"
shakes his head. "Nee, it was good. I always enjoy it with you."
smiles sheepishly in response, " That's good to hear then."
nodded and rubbed her back. "A good night to end the day..."
nods as well in agreement as she pulled up the covers, " Ja. There's always tomorrow too or well tonight." She glanced over to the clock to see that they were well into the next day.
nods a little and sighed as he closed his eyes. "After sleep."
curled up some more and drifted off rather quickly, mumbling away as per usual. " God nat and God Jul Nikolaas..."
nods, mumbling it quietly to her the same as he fell asleep.
