God, no, I'd be completely useless without a microwave

I rely heavily on mine, too. I hate cooking on a stove. I won't if I can help it.

Mm. I never buy one when I live alone because they make the food taste funny in my opinion. But in a pinch you can steam fish and cook rice and junk so there is that.

I'm the same. I don't leave the room when there's something on the stove or in the oven.

The microwave cuts down my paranoia time considerably and makes it easier to do other things while stuff's cooking.

How else do people heat up leftovers??

Ah I usually don't have a stove either cause I tend to live in studios. How I cook my good is clearly a great and intriguing mystery.

We have a "speed cook" oven that heats conventionally as well as microwave, it's great.

^THIS. Eating without a microwave is super inconvenient. It probably helps that all my leftovers containers are plastic and thus

not oven safe but wow, it sucks so much to have to cook single serving all the time instead of making huge batches and nuking leftovers.

Also, frozen fruit + microwave= SPEEDY HEALTHY CANDY, YES GOOD

I don't like leftovers heated up, but it's interesting that this is the number one use microwaves seem to have.
