had been still sleeping due to waking up in the middle of the night, last night.
lightly shook her to try and wake her up.
started to wake up eventually. She quietly winced as she sat up and looked to him tiredly. "...God Morgen." She didn't even know what time it was.
nods. "More like afternoon. But here's breakfast. Or, brunch."
frowned but nodded with a small word of thanks. She ate quietly after, careful not to make a mess knowing he wouldn't like it.
"I was thinking of heading to the city for the celebrations."
looks up from her food as she nodded. " I'm sure your people would love to celebrate with you."
nods a little. "I want you with me."
seemed a bit surprised at that suggestion. " Are you sure?'
nods. "I can't spend New Years eve alone, now can I?"
smiles faintly and nods, " I guess that is true..."
nodded and went to go clean up the downstairs. "Just call me when you're done."
went back to eating after. She went to wash up and get dressed as well so he didn't have to help her as much.
wanted her to be gentle with herself. He went to have a shower after, wanting to be prepared for the night.
might have left the door unlocked as she was taking a bath.
blushed a little as he walked in. He just put his things to the side so he didn't have to bring them in later.
seemed to not notice him as she had zoned out completely.
sighed quietly. "Are you feeling okay...?"
snapped out of it and nodded when she realized he was there. She reddened after noticing that she was still in the bath. " J-ja..."
nods a little. "Good..." He went to leave after to give her some peace.
continued to space out before eventually get out and dressed after redoing her bandages.
went for a shower after, being careful and watching out for her.
fixed up her bandages and got dressed quickly. She cleaned up the plates and stuff from her brunch and brought it to the kitchen to clean.
took a quick shower, not wanting to take too long.
waited in the living room after, giving her attention to Heimdall again as it managed to cheer her up a bit.
came out after a while and got a bit dressed up. "Ready to go out?"
nods as she stared at him slightly. She felt a bit out of place seeing him compared to herself.
just was use to this. He always did it.
tugged at the end of her dress before going to get her coat. She always seemed either like a bit of a hipster or an office lady with her clothes sometimes.
got his coat on as well and looked outside. "Should we take the car or walk?"
shrugs lightly, " Which ever you prefer." She fixed her scarf and coat to cover up her mediocre outfit.
nods a little, grabbing the keys. He'd just not drink too much tonight.
went outside afterwards to the car once she got her boots on. She would have to be more careful in heels.
liked how she took precautions. He didn't think it affected her outfit anyways.
just felt oddly out of place compared to him. She just got into the passenger seat and waited for him.
headed off once he got inside, being careful of the roads again.
thought the roads looked a lot safer now and things didn't seem out of place.
glad for that, he didn't want his nerves to kill him today.
tugged at the ends of her hair as she continued to wait, unsure of where they were going.
stopped after a while. "This will be as close as we can get to the centre without having to worry about parking." He looked to her after, worried. "Is that okay?"
nodded faintly in response as she looked around at the surroundings. She got ready to get out of the car after. " It's fine."
nods and made sure to lock the car once they were out. He just started walking down the sidewalk after.
followed beside her quietly, looking around some more. There seemed to be a lot more people around and about.
could feel the excitement and celebration in everyone. It gave him so much energy.
smiled faintly as she watched, though in the back of her mind these weren't her people after all and it made her feel a bit homesick for once.
frowned a little when he noticed that. "Would you prefer we go to Copenhagen?"
shook her head, " Nej I'll be fine. Your people are important too and we'll miss the celebrations if we travel all the way back."
nods a bit. "Then... try to celebrate as much as you can with us."
nods faintly in response as she continued to walk quietly.
frowns. "Why are you so quiet?"
tensed slightly as she looked to him, confused by his question. " I thought you would prefer that." She still sort of remembered that he did think of her as troublesome.
shakes his head a bit. "I want you to enjoy today... it's the end of one year, and the start of another. It's to be celebrated."
apologized as she nodded, unsure of how to enjoy it when her mind was elsewhere. " I'll try. Sorry."
stopped her and kissed her lightly. "I'm sorry..."
reddened as she looked up to him, clearly clueless as to why he did that or apologized. " Wha-why? You did do anything wrong."
frowns. "I feel like I did. You're too quiet."
about to retort before she drew quiet again, for once accepting that fact.
held her hand as he headed to the centre.
followed quietly in the meantime.
got to the centre where a lot of people were out. Many were laughing and drinking and there were even people giving out free hot chocolate.
noticed that there was a lot of people and it was starting to get crowded. She smiled faintly at the sight and tried to pay more attention from all the scenes and sounds in the area.
went and got them two hot chocolates, handing one to her.
thanked him as she accepted it. It felt nice holding something so warm in her cold hands.
sipped the drink. "People will probably start singing soon..."
put a hand around her throat wondering if it was okay for her to join along. Maybe she would just watch instead. " Really?"
nods. "Ja. People are very celebratory here. Do what ever you want, too."
went back to sipping her drink after. " That's nice."
nodded as he sipped his drink and walked around slowly.
followed beside him, taking small sips every now and then as she didn't know what to say.
put an arm around her, careful of her side.
jolted slightly as she looked to him. She was a bit glad for that as she had been feeling a bit wobbly from her injuries and from the amount of people around.
would keep her up. He was hurt support, after all. As she was his.
smiled and held onto him as she continued to walk. She was thankful to him after all.
just wanted her to be happy.
jumped a bit when she heard the count down start and looked to him. " It's almost time."
nods as he looked out to the large celebrations in the very middle.
seemed quite happy as the countdown reach to zero as she followed along with the counting. She looked to him with a warm smile, " Godt Nytår, Nikolaas,"
kissed her and closed his eyes. "Gelukkig Nieuwjaar, Dorthe..."
blushed but followed suit, enjoying the moment. It made her really happy.
smiled to her before cheering a bit in Dutch with the others, unable to contain himself.
laughs as she watched, finding it a first. She cheered along, more so with her heavy accented English.
just really couldn't hold back. It was too much excitment for him.
found it rather cute and nice. She leaned over and pecked him lightly on the cheek. Five months into their marriage and things were going quite well.
thought so too. He kept her close so she didn't get carried away.
...nearly did if it wasn't for him.
knew that, which was why he kept a grip on her.
seemed rather surprised at how energetic people were
wasn't. Everyone liked to party. Especially in Amsterdam.
wondered if he wanted something to drink to celebrate?
wouldn't mind a beer or two.
went to get some for him from the pub nearby.
followed her, not wanting to lose her in this crowd.
held onto his hand as she entered a pub. It was mostly full and she went to a few seats she found by the counter, ordering for him.
wondered if she was drinking too.
probably would if he didn't mind her.
wouldn't mind at all. He wanted her to have fun.
handed him the glass, waiting for him to sit down.
sat down and tapped her glass lightly before sipping.
smiles as she got comfortable and took a nice swig of beer. She missed the feel of rowdy places like this and ended up frowning slightly after realizing she really did miss home.
frowned when he saw that. "Are you sure you don't want to go home?"
looked to him before shaking her head fervently and smiling faintly after, " Nej, I'm okay. I'm probably still tired from yesterday." Her side didn't hurt anymore at the very least.
nods and drank some more. He didn't want her to be home sick.
drank a little faster than she would have expected herself to. She seemed more into the surroundings than pay attention to herself.
got lost in a few conversations with some others around.
spoke with a few and even the bartender. She didn't seem to notice people were hitting on her a lot.
had and told them to back off, she was taken.
rather relieved about that as she continued her drinking. She was often offered drinks and others paid for their tab. She didn't noticed that she had a light pink tint on her cheeks after a while.
kept telling people to stop it. He was starting to get annoyed.
just rubbed her cheeks as she finished another drink after another compliment from a male before he was driven away like many others.
wasn't liking how the new year was starting...
rather oblivious and eventually stopped drinking. Instead, she decided to hit on him as she had no clue what was going on.
leaned against him with a sheepish smile, while complimenting him as well.
sighed and finished his beer. "Let's go home."
frowns at that, " Why? I was having fun here..."
nods. "Ja, but you're tipsy and if I get to that point I can't drive home."
frowns, " Can't we just call a taxi?" She sighed reluctantly getting ready to leave, the tab paid for by others already.
shrugs. "We could, but I don't want to spend the money. Besides, we have some nice wine at home."
sighed again as she held onto his sleeve, careful not to stumble again.
helped support her as he walked her back to the car.
mumbled odd things here and there, often using pick up lines or making weird jokes.
chuckled at a few of them, but mostly just kept her balanced.
threw in a few dirty jokes into the mix as she nuzzled him. A drunk Dane was always an interesting one.
blushed a bit but shook his head and got her into the car.
wriggled about in her seat, giddier than ever. She was in a very good mood.
glad for that... He drove them home, still being careful.
went on to hitting on him with even more weirder jokes and bad puns.
tried to keep a straight face as he drove.
smirks and made even worse jokes but some of them were actually funny.
laughed a few times as he finally got parked in the driveway.
had pretty good humour and made even more good jokes and pick up lines, not even aware that they were home.
helped her out of the car and into the house after.
got into the house in one piece, possibly groping him in a flirty way during that exchange.
made a sound and huffed. "Dorthe."
looked to him innocently. " Hmmm?"
kissed her forehead. "Just try not to do anything too crazy, okay?
pouts, " Crazy? Like what?"
shrugs. "Just... keep yourself together."
pouuts even more, still not understanding what he meant. " Are you saying that I'm going to fall apart?" She frowned after remembering about how homesick she was because of what he said.
shakes his head. "Nee, I just don't want you to get too crazy around me. Now go have some water."
nods faintly as she grew quiet like before she had drank. She went to the kitchen after, no longer as energetic or enthusiastic.
frowns, wondering how he kept screwing up...
hugged Heimdall that went to her arms
hugged Heimdall that went to her arms
blinks and shook her head dumbly as she drank her water and hugged Heimdall more who loved the attention he was getting.
((Phone wut r u doin. Phone sttaaaph))
went to go change into something comfortable
-already feeling inferior to him.
felt like maybe leaving would be best for her..
went to find the vodka and curled up on the couch. Drinking might help her woes.
felt like he didn't know how to handle her it seemed anymore. He just made her sad always.
took a few shots before just downing the entire thing while Heimdall bathed in all the attention it got from being near her in a smug manner.
came back a bit later. "Would you like me to drop you off at home?"
shook her head. " I don't want to be alone." She looked upset from that suggestion.
nods a bit. "I'm sure the Dane would be there..."
looked at him even more sadder to hear that, " So you're throwing me away because things aren't working out for you?"
frowns and shakes his head. "Nee. I just feel terrible making you sad... I thought if you went home, you'd feel happier and more in place..."
seemed to know the opposite was going to happen. She reluctantly went to go pack up to leave since he kept pushing towards that.
frowned and went to stop her.
just continued packing up...pretty much everything.
... didn't want her to leave...
thought he was sending her away to not deal with her anymore.
just held her close. This wasn't how he wanted the near year to start.
made a faint sound, " What are you doing now? She grumbled."
sighs. "I'm sorry for making you think I don't want you..."
looked up to him blankly, " Do you really mean that? Am I just considered troublesome to you?"
sighs. "There's... a few things. But we can work them out."
frowns looked on the bad side of things, " What if we can't...?"
seemed crestfallen by his response. " You don't sound confident which means its not going to work, is it?."
kissed the top of her head. "It will, if things change."
nods slightly in response. She still didn't have a good feeling about it.
went to sit down after, trying to clear his head.
went to unpack and clean up, though she just tripped and fell right into the bed with a loud thunk.
frowned as he looked to her. "... Take the rest of the night off."
pushed herself up as her lip wobbled like a child. She was still drunk and about to bawl like her 5 year old self.
frowned and pulled her into a huge.
sniffled and held onto him tightly, after tossing Heimdall aside.
clung to him in a child like manner as Heimdall huffed and but understood and gave her room.
just talked to her quietly, uttering small things.
listened to him intently and not letting go.
sighed and closed his eyes. "You'll be okay."
whimpered quietly and nodded in response.
kissed the top of her head lightly.
fidgeted and buried herself more into his chest, finding quiet comfort there.
let her stay there as long as she liked.
would stay there until she sobered up.
would keep holding her how ever long she needed.
eventually seemed to calm down with the colour on her cheeks fading a bit.
sighed. "Are you feeling better?"
nods slightly as she shifted away from him eventually.
rubbed her arm still. "Will you stay...?"
nods again as she looked up to him, " Unless you tell me to leave."
shakes his head. "I want you here..."
held his hand quietly, " Okay."
squeezed her hand tightly. He was worried she'd leave.
had thought he wanted her to leave because of how exasperated he seemed in regards to her homesickness.
just tired of a few things, but also exhausted. He'd just stay a bit more quiet than normal.
blinked as her stomach growled and frowned. She hadn't eaten since brunch really...
would make her anything she wanted.
thought anything simple was okay. She knew he was tired.
helped her downstairs and started making a soup.
stayed relatively close to him and tried to help out whenever she could.
let her help, and was thankful for it.
wondered if he was going to be okay...
helped served up the food after for him.
nods a little. "Dank u..."
made a bit of tea to help before putting it on the table and sitting down to eat.
sat down beside her and ate quietly, watching her.
ate small spoonfuls, a little out of it but that was because of how worn out she was.
thought after this they should sleep.
probably would. She had nothing else to do in mind.
would sleep with her then. He was rather exhausted himself from all the cheering.
went to clean up once she was done eating her fill.
shakes his head. "Let me clean up, please."
looks over to him from the kitchen sink, " Are you sure?"
smiles faintly and nods. "You can go rest, I'll be up in a moment."
seemed a bit reassured by that and went upstairs promptly after.
didn't take long in cleaning up, as he wanted to be with her. He made sure the lights were out a bit later and headed up to join her.
had just tucked Heimdall into bed and gone back to his bedroom, sitting on the bed and waiting for the Dutchman.
walked in a bit later, sighing quietly. "How is your side?"
looked up to him and nods, " It's okay." It wasn't hurting as much at the very least.
nodded as he walked over. "Do your bandages need to be changed?"
lifted up the skirt of her dress to check and nodded. She didn't mean to flash him but her bandages were soaked in blood.
frowns and went to get the first aid kit to heal her up.
stayed in place and didn't move much as she waited for him in the meantime.
came back and went to fix her bandages for her.
lifted up her skirt again to make it easier for him.
just went to fixing her, making sure to be careful.
winced faintly as she tried to not fidget as much.
tried to talk to her quietly to calm her down before finishing. "There."
nodded weakly with a small word of thanks before trying to get comfortable in bed.
helped her and joined her shortly after in bed.
curled up close to him as best as she could.
put his arm around her and held her close against his chest.
just content with this really.
too. He liked doing this really.
closed her eyes a bit later, mumbling a bit. " Happy New Year and God nat."
nods as he kissed her lightly. "Happy Near Year, Dorthe. Goednacht..."
fell asleep quickly afterwards, finding comfort and a peace of mind.
watched her a bit before falling asleep himself.
