sprawled on the couch, watching dramas with the rabbit and the dragon on her.
walked by her and dropped a small gift onto her lap as he went to the kitchen.
jumped a little as she looked at him and then the gift. " Oh hej, you're home." She wondered what it was and opened it out of her typical curiosity.
nods as he went to was his hands in cold water. He had finally given her the wedding ring she deserved.
stared at it before going to find him. " What's this about?" She was clearly confused especially from how nice the box looked.
rubbed his hands a bit more. "It was supposed to be your Christmas present..."
blinks as she leaned against the counter, studying the ring. " What about all the other gifts you gave me?" She was curious why he chose that particular design.
shrugs. "You deserve more than one gift." He went to dry his hands after and patch them up. He just thought it fit her well.
put the ring back into the box before placing it on the counter before helping him. " And what on earth happen to your hands?" She frowned, worried for him.
just put some bandages around his fingers. "I just hurt them slightly when finishing the ring..."
stared at him before taking his hands gently and making sure they were cleaned properly before bandaging them up. " You made it from scratch? It's amazing since I couldn't tell."
nods a bit. "I don't work on jewelry often... so it takes longer. And I forget the safety rules for most tools at times."
frowned as she gently rubbed her thumb on the backside of his hand. " You're usually someone who won't take risks unless you have to. Since when have you been such a dare devil?"
looks down. "I just wanted to do it for you..."
sighs as she nods, " Ja but still. It's not like you to do those things. I would be more upset if you hurt yourself and lose a limb than over a late Christmas present."
shrugs. "You needed a ring, and I couldn't find any good enough... so I had to make it."
looked a him for a while before smiling and shaking her head, finding the things he did unbelievable sometimes. " You won't be as good in bed if you're missing an arm for goodness sakes." She teased lightly.
blushed a little. "I doubt the tools used for jewelry making could do that much. Just burns, cuts and at most the tip of a finger being lost.
huffs, " Well, it would still be bad if things became harder for you to do. Besides, I want you to put it on me after all." She pushed the ring box lightly towards him after.
blushed a bit but took it, and took the ring out after. He then took her hand and slowly slid it on.
smiled as she admired it. She leaned over to kiss him lightly afterwards.
returned the kiss and smiled a bit. "I'm tired..."
reddened slightly from seeing him smile and nods as she ushered him gently upstairs. " Go rest then. I'll figure out what to eat for lunch, alright?"
nods a little. "I don't mind resting on the couch..."
blinks as she stopped in the hallway, " I guess. The couch is big enough for us, the rabbit and Heimdall."
nodded. "I want to keep close to you..."
scratched her cheek in a slightly bashful manner and nods as she lead the way back to the living room where she was relaxing. She made room on the couch for him before sitting down.
just laid down, resting his head in her lap. She was nice and warm and comfy.
seemed a bit surprised at that but thought nothing of it and used the blanket to keep him warm, before going back to watching more dramas.
closed his eyes and rested a hand on her lap, nuzzling into her.
laughs as she shifted, stroking his hair lightly. She didn't understand his sudden affectionate behaviour but she didn't mind or complain about it at all.
just wanted to be warm and less tired. He normally did that to his pillow anyways.
wondered if she was going to be his new pillow then? She spent her time watching TV for the most part, though she did glance at her ring every now and then while blushing.
liked her as a pillow for now, but he'd go back to the traditional kind when they went to bed.
shrugs and let him do what he wanted for now. His sudden gift had made her day a whole lot better.
glad for that. He spent ages on it and most of the time had to work in the shed so she didn't find out.
had wondered where he disappeared off to at certain times of the day. She often thought he was up to some gardening thing and never thought about questioning him about it.
glad he was able to keep it quiet then and surprise her.
thought the best surprised was always spending time with him. She leaned over and just kissed him lightly with a content smirk.
shifted a bit and nuzzled her more at that.
chuckled softly, becoming more preoccupied with him than her earlier entertainment. She played light with his hair, pressing kisses on him in a fun manner every now and then.
mumbled quietly as he leaned into her touches and shifted in her lap.
replied in a soft tone, still fooling around before letting him rest properly. She gave him a light massage in the meantime, focusing on getting him to relax as she did it absentmindedly.
made a few quiet sounds, relaxing instantly and pretty much going limp on her.
looked down after a long while and took notice of that. She smiled and just continued, making sure not to do anything to wake him up.
slept peacefully for a few hours, barely shifting. He was quite content like this.
started to nod off after a while from how cosy she was and fell into a light sleep in her spot. She didn't mind spending time like this at all.
woke up a bit later, yawning quietly and clawing her leg slightly.
shifted in response, still asleep during that time.
hums a bit as he shifted to look up at her, smiling softly. "Dorthe..."
opened her eyes slightly and smiled back to him when she heard him call her. " Ja?"
raised his arm and put his hand behind her neck, pulling her down for a quick kiss. "You're comfy to sleep on..."
blushed at that action as she nodded dumbly. " You're free to sleep on me anytime you know."
nods as he slowly got up. "I don't want to ruin your day by doing that..."
helped him up so he wouldn't put as much pressure on his hands. " How is my day ever ruined if I am able to spend it with the most important person of my life?"
chuckled a bit. "I guess..." He held his hands in his lap after. "I could make food if you want."
shook her head after and pressed a light kiss on his cheek. " I said I'll cook. I don't want these hands to be hurt more than they are already." She smirked, flicking the back of his hand lightly.
made a sound but nodded a bit. "I could try to help at least."
shook her head again in response, " Nej, it's really fine." She took off her wedding ring and handed to him, " Just keep this safe for me since I don't want to get it dirty while cooking."
nods and clutched it in his hands.
kissed his forehead before heading to the kitchen to cook. " Tak." Heimdall flew over to see what he had in his hands.
blushed a little but opened his hands a bit to show him, keeping a grip on it so he'd not fly off with it. He cherished this thing way too much for it to fall into the wrong hands.
continued to cook while Heimdall grinned, trying to shake off its natural instinct to like shiny things. It still had heat radiating off of it from her wearing it.
clutched it again before getting up and heading to the kitchen to watch her.
hummed lightly, cooking away in her own little world. She was quite happy in all honesty, with her stupid smile plastered on her face while thinking about him.
could tell, but he enjoyed that. He was glad she was happy now, after all the issue they had lately.
served up the tea he liked before going back to cooking some more. She was in a wonderful mood.
glad for that, really. He sat down at the table and sipped the tea carefully, not wanting to hurt his sensitive fingers.
made sure he wouldn't burn himself so she had let it cool a bit prior to serving it to him. She made a more traditonal dish for him, which was a nice casserole.
licked his lips. "You've done a great job."
served it up and nods after clearing the table. " Its easy to eat too."
nodded and started eating, having no issues with his hands.
laughs as Heimdall flew around to try. She fed it a spoonful, laughing at its reaction.
smirks a little and quietly finished up eating. He was feel great now.
finished her food slowly, looking to him after. " Do you need more?"
nods. "A little more wouldn't hurt..."
went to get another portion for him after taking his plate. " Here." She made sure it was enough to make him full.
nodded a thanks and started eating, really enjoying it.
made some more tea and went to get the dessert she had in the oven.
finished a little later and sat back in his chair. "Dank u, for dinner. It was great."
smiles as she served up some parfait after that was nicely decorated. " Still have room for dessert?"
nods. "Oh course." He slowly ate it, savouring the tastes.
sighed as she fed Heimdall most of her own. The dragon really did share his love for sweets.
would make her some non-sweet desserts some time.
ate only a few bites despite the fact she wanted to have more but was too tired to do so.
wondered if she wanted to sleep now?
did nap earlier so she was alright. She went to clean up while Heimdall annoyed her about a buzzing sound he kept icking up. She dismissed it quickly after.
got up a bit after. "Want me to dry the dishes?"
blinked and nods, " I guess. I'm heading to the washroom for a bit so I'll be right back." She practically bolted there after.
nods a little after, looking to the dishes once she left. He decided to do them himself.
facepalmed as she glared at the dragon who snickered away. One stupid bet led to her agreeing to some weird dare the dragon gave her. If only she could find that goddamn remote.
... didn't want to think about it as he cleaned up.
thought the dragon was perverted at times.
knew he was all the time.
didn't and had forgotten about the bet up until the dragon reminded her. It was the sole reason she didn't move much from her spot the entire day.
thought she should stop betting with him then.
didn't think it would turn out like this at all! Then again she wasn't the most cleaver type of person ever. She took a beer from the fridge after recovering and proceed to forget about it in the meantime.
finished with the dishes and carefully dried his hands.
curled up quietly on the couch, glad to be rid of it and drank her beer. At least the Dutchman didn't find out at all.
came back a bit later and sat on the couch. "Are your hands clean?"
nods as she show him after. She made sure they were nice and tidy tpp.
put the ring back on her again.
smiles and kissed his cheek after putting her bottle of beer down onto the coffee table. " Tak~"
blushed but nodded, leaning back in the couch.
shifted slightly and leaned against him. There was a football match on.
put an arm around her side as he watched the game. Even if he didn't play it much lately, he did still enjoy it.
smiled faintly as she watched. She thought he could still play indoor football if he wanted to. Football had nice eye candy after all.
didn't want to risk breaking anything...
didn't consider it that dangerous. It was more like a man ballet when watching those humans fake their injuries.
hated when the Italians or Spanish did that... it was so unprofessional.
found it rather amusing on the other hand.
tensed at some times whenever a goal almost happened.
rubbed his arm lightly to help him calm down a bit.
did from that and tried to relax as he saw.
laughs as a goal was made. It was a very nicely played shot as well.
nodded a bit. He liked this game a lot.
could from how easily excited he was.
followed the ball easily, getting more into the game though didn't react as badly as before.
smiled as she enjoyed it, watching the seconds tick by as another attempt on the goal was made.
made a bit of a sound as he watched. He hated how he got so drawn into the games.
didn't mind as she figured this was a way to relax and spend time together.
just drew little shapes and such on his arm in the meantime as they watched.
leaned his head against hers a bit as he watched.
nuzzled him lightly as the game came to an end with the team she favoured winning. It made her quite happy.
hums. "Is there another game on after?"
shook her head, " Not for an hour or so. Got anything in mind we can do in the meantime?"
shakes his head. "I can't do any art... so that's out of the question."
frowned as she carefully took his hands, " Sorry." She felt guilty about that.
shakes his head. "It's not your fault at all."
kissed the tip of his fingers lightly, " It is if you're hurt because of my selfishness."
blushes a bit. "Don't say that. It wasn't your selfishness. It was something I wanted to do."
continued to give affectionate little kisses to his hands. She always loved the rough feeling of them. His large hands always made the callouses feel bigger than they really were. " I still blame myself."
shakes his head. "Don't, or you'll make me feel bad."
frowns, " I don't want you to feel bad either." She slipped her small fingers inbetween his.
watched as he held her hands lightly. "Then think of this as the gift I've wanted to give you for a while..."
nods softly as she kissed him. " Fine..." She found it cute whenever he was trying to be romantic.
wasn't that good at it, so he did it through works of art.
wrapped her arms around his neck to pull him closer, " I think it's the best present you've given me since the birthday one when we first met."
blushed a bit more and kissed her lightly. "I'm just glad you enjoyed it..."
laughs in response, " I always enjoy what you make for me."
smiles faintly. "Good... I put a lot of heart and soul into what I do."
smiles, " I think most of my favourite jewellery comes from you too."
looked away a bit shy. "I'm glad then..." He'd try to improve on it for her.
grins and nipped his nose lightly, " Ja. Should I make you my personal jeweller?"
shrugs. "I wouldn't mind it. I could get the materials for cheaper too..."
chuckled at that as she shifted onto his lap, " That sounds like a good plan."
nods a little as he rested his hands on her hips.
wriggled a bit and got comfy. She knew she wasn't going to get any action as per usual and had figured out other ways to satisfy her needs without having to always rely on him.
just didn't want to hurt his hands more...
could tell and so maybe that bet with Heimdall wasn't so bad after all. Well, until she tensed and accidentally shuddered when Heimdall used the remote. " Crap! Sorry."
furrowed his brows. "What's wrong...?"
shook her head as she laughed nervously and tugged the ends of her skirt. " Um...uh. Nothing! Nothing at all." She shot a dirty look at Heimdall after.
glared at the dragon after.
covered her mouth almost immediately as she accidentally pressed herself into his lap when the damn thing acted up again. " S-sorry." She prayed to Odin that he did not feel that.
did. And he just glared at her.
squeaked as she tried to move off of him. Well, great he was going to be mad all over again at her.
, in fact. He didn't see why she needed something like that. Or why she'd leave it in... or why the dragon had a remote for it.
didn't want to often bother him for favours, especially not now with his hands injured so she sought other means. She bolted to her room after, looking upset and frustrated because of how angry he looked.
just shook his head as he sat on the couch. He was frustrated because he thought he had been satisfying her enough. Now he just felt incompetent.
kept herself locked up in her room, not leaving it. She just felt bad about constantly asking him and trying to push him for intimate moments. She sought for another solution to not burden him so much.
didn't mind that, but if only if he wasn't home. And she didn't have it in her constantly. ... And if the dragon didn't have the remote. He was seriously getting annoyed with him.
didn't have it in her constantly! She just curled up in the small closet, wrapping the giant comforter around her. It was only a truth or dare game that went wrong...
thought her games were a little twisted if that was what she considered fun...
didn't think it would turn out that way but she would never ever refuse a dare. Instead, she bawled her eyes out thinking he hated her and would leave her because she was always so needy.
thought if she was less of a cry baby and admitted to her mistakes it'd be a step in the right direction.
often a little too stubborn and her childishness did get to her when she wasn't thinking straight. Rather than face the consequences, she would lock herself up and stay there just like in the past.
could tell. He got up after a while and went to the room.
wasn't going to answer the door or move from her spot. Of course, she didn't think she was to blame because she was trying to find another solution. Which wasn't the smartest of ideas.
sighs. "Dorthe, I'm only upset because I was home. I don't want you to suffer, but also there is such thing as a limit." He was mostly upset because their happy moment was ruined because of it.
couldn't hear his muffled voice from under the many blankets and comforters. She actually didn't think he would return home from his shed early today...
sighed and went to lie down on the couch again. This was starting to drain him.
had been used to seeing him only appear in the morning for breakfast after his jog and only briefly for lunch before he went out again. The only time he returned and stayed in the house was at night.
had been staying home more than normal lately...
had saw brief glimpses of him for the most part and never asked why or was bothered by that until the dragon asked her about him. She had grown tired of the cat and mouse game really.
guessed she could have fun with the dragon like she normally did, then. He just slept on the couch.
didn't do anything with the dragon, rather she would chastise it every moment he got too clingy. She had gotten rid of the device and stared at the ring in her hand. She took it off, putting it safely away in a
_ pouch thinking she wasn't worthy of wearing it and leaving it on the bed side table before going back to the closet.
felt hurt that she was going to far lengths to keep him out of her life. He wondered if it was better to just go to a hotel..
thought the opposite that he was the one who didn't want her at all after everything. She played quietly with an extra vial of the dragon's venom she kept, contemplating on what to do.
did all he could to be with her. She was the one who ran off and locked herself away. He didn't like the childishness.
would really wonder what part did he actually liked about her. She left the room eventually and got herself properly dressed. She muttered a quiet apology to him before leaving, thinking he wanted her to leave.
wondered how she always assumed that... He was tired of making it clear he wanted her. If he didn't he wouldn't have given her the ring.
often quick to jump to that conclusion whenever he was angry. She just felt inferior to him because of how she couldn't meet his standards.
thought he was the one who couldn't meet her standards. She had just been so oriented around sex lately he didn't know what to do.
never asked or pushed too much and always left everything up to what he wanted. She just looked at him before stepping out of the house and heading back home, at least trying to be less reckless.
sighed as he watched her, figuring it was her walking out on him. He didn't know what to do now.
barely made a step away from the door before she curled up and ended up sitting on the porch. She could't do it...she couldn't bring herself to leave.
felt empty, thinking she had left him for good.
stayed on the porch hugging her knees quietly. Heimdall pawed at him, trying to bring him to the window to see.
couldn't move... He just kept sat on the couch, staring down.
closed her eyes as she didn't seem to notice that it was getting colder. She stared blankly at the pouch, containing the ring before putting it back on. The dragon growled, pulling him to the window to see.
made a sound though was pulled, and frowned when he saw her outside.
curled up more even thought it didn't get rid of her numbness while fiddling quietly with her ring, staring at it with a blank expression.
knocked on the window lightly to get her attentio.
turned her head slightly, looking to that direction as she rubbed her eyes, thinking it was Heimdall or Miss Rabbit. She did look like she was about to cry again as she stared at him.
motioned for her to come back inside.
looked at him as she donned a confused expression. She was in truth too cold to move from her spot.
sighed and went outside to get her.
had stopped shivering a while ago and stayed in her spot. She knew her eyes were puffy from earlier and she was certainly exhausted.
looked up to him, trying to stay as serious and straight faced as she could. " My skirt is frozen to the porch." She sniffled.
sighs and went to help her, making sure not to rip it as he helped her up.
winced she felt the blood rush to her arms and legs from finally moving. It was the pins and needles that was going to make it hard to walk after not moving for a few hours or so.
helped her inside and to the couch to warm her up
didn't budge or move much from her spot. She stared at her ring instead for the most part as Heimdall was happy she was back inside.
went to make her some hot cocoa.
started to fidget with her ring quietly as the dragon put a blanket around her. She wondered if it was better if she acted less like a human...
wondered what she meant at that.
a nation after all and wondered if it was because of the influence of humans she became so childish and needy. She thought about reverting to her old self like when she was occupied by Germany. She wouldn't_
_ ever ask or need anything and would just do everything he wanted.
didn't mind her being herself still, just... a little more responsible.
perplexed in what he wanted of her then. If he wanted her to be herself, then he would have to deal with her childishness. If he wanted her to be more responsible than she possibly ever could, then she wasn't_
_ going to be able to stay as herself. Better yet, maybe someone like Sve would be a better candidate compared to her. She just wasn't good enough for his liking as so it would seem.
just didn't want her to be as childish.
still didn't understand on the contrary. Being childish was an integral part of who she was. Most of the time she was level headed and though mostly straight and even tried to be more rational lately.
just didn't like how she made bets with the dragon.
...didn't think he ever liked Heimdall at all.
did, just not when he embarrassed her or made him feel inadequate.
actually doubted that...even though she did tried to get the dragon to tone it down. All she often saw was that the Dutchman often glared or chastised the dragon....
thought he acted a little out of normal for him... though he'd never seen a real dragon before, so he didn't know what to think.
...thought maybe it might be time to send Heimdall back to where he belonged now that he could take care of himself even though she was too attached to it.
thought if they did that he'd be the most benefited dragon there...
slowly got up to find the grimore after.
didn't want her to regret what she was about to do..
returned, placing the leather bound book onto the coffee table and looked too the dragon. She wasn't good at magic at all but if it would make things right she had to make a decision.
didn't want her to do this if it would upset her. Unless they got another pet...
didn't want another pet and Heimdall was her baby after all, even if it was a dragon. She beckoned it onto her lap, speaking quietly to it in Old Norse in a soft yet sad tone.
frowns when he saw that and just went to pick up the grimore.
tried hard not to sound so sad and even forced a smile a few times to reassure it. She really couldn't let go of Heimdall...
looked up to him, confused as to why he did that.
couldn't stand seeing her that sad. He'd just deal with it.
seemed even more puzzled especially how she had been behaving for the past few days or so...
still loved her, and seeing her upset made him feel bad. Even if the dragon did things he didn't like, he wouldn't punish it for his sake.
would probably be depressed for a long time if she went through with it. She seemed a bit relieved that she didn't as the dragon licked up the tears forming at the corner of her eyes as she claimed_
_ that she had the sniffles to cover up the obvious fact of how easily emotional she was at times.
sighed quietly as he went to make himself some tea. He wasn't feeling the best right now.
rather worn out, physically and emotionally. She hadn't noticed Heimdall had left her arms after she closed her eyes for a while. The dragon seemed to personally ask the Dutchman to send its true home.
couldn't do anything. He wanted Dorthe to be happy, and if Heimdall left he'd feel she lost something close to her.
had fallen into a light sleep as Heimdall found the grimore and pushed it into his hands. The dragon knew that he had over stayed his welcome and had to leave before something like this happened again.
pet the dragon lightly and shook his head. "Not yet..."
's dragon growled and still insisted on it. He was aware that he was the one that was always creating problems between the two and his mor always got the short end of the stick.
sighed and took the book into the living room and went to wake Dorthe.
still in a light sleep as the dragon stayed perched on his shoulder.
would wait until she was awake.
awoke when she heard some sounds and looked up to him. She noticed Heimdall seemed to have a more mature air around him and slumped slightly. She knew she couldn't keep dragging it.
"I wanted you to make the final decision. And do what your heart wants..."
frowned but nodded as the dragon hopped over and nuzzled her affectionately for the last time. She took the grimore willingly after and opened the page she had bookmarked a long time ago.
rubbed the dragons head lightly. He'd miss him, but he knew this wasn't a place for a real dragon... not in this time anyways.
had originally summoned Heimdall as a way of proving that dragons were real. She prepared the circle and stated the inscription needed, trying her best to get the pronunciation right and not make an accident.
put a hand lightly on her shoulder, knowing she was doing the right thing.
waved and muttered a few things in Old Norse to Heimdall before watching the dragon disappeared completely with the circle before the book burned up into ashes.
flinched at that, not expecting it to do that.
watch the flames go out as fast the the dragon left. She got up quietly after and went to her room to breathe.
went to just curl up on her bed. Not a single word or peep coming from her as she didn't know how to even react.
frowns a little, knowing this must be hard for her. "You did the right thing, Dorthe..."
nodded once and just stared out blankly. She felt sick...
frowns a bit. "Do you want to go for a walk?"
nodded again after a while. She wasn't going to refuse any of his suggestions.
hoped she'd be alright. "We could go out for dinner too if you want..."
didn't mean too but she seemingly nodded along. She tried to snap out of it and sat up after. " ...Wherever you like."
frowns. He didn't want her to become someone fake...
stayed quiet as she pulled herself out of bed to get her coat and shoes. She stopped when she saw Heimdall's bed on the floor.
frowns as he kept by her. He felt terrible for forcing her to do this
took a deep breath to keep her composure brfore heading downstairs.
kept as close to her as he could before getting his boots and coat on. He stepped outside after a while and waited for her.
shifts and closed the door behind her. She just looked to him to lead the way as she kept her hands in her coat pocket
"Where would you like to go?"
just nodded. " Anywhere you want." She kind of did lose a part of herself with Heimdall being sent home.
put his arm around her and headed to the centre of the city. He hoped over time she got back to herself.
walked and spaced out for the most part.
let her be quiet for once, even if he wasn't use to it. He hoped being out might help her clear her mind.
kept thinking back to Heimdall.
knew she would. It was for the best though. Even Heimdall would be happier.
wouldn't be able to get over it as fast as she depended on Heimdall a lot more than she realized.
thought that was one issues all mothers seemed to have.
spaced out some more in the mwantime. She relied on the dragon for waking up and other things.
didn't know he became her whole life...
couldn't always depend on the Dutchman and grew lonely easily. She only accepted to the terms because the Dutchman never seemed to be happy about it.
guessed he could stop work to be with her then...
didn't think that was fair to him at all, rather she would try to live without depending on the dragon...
thought he had been there often for her, so he just felt guilty now.
just appreciated him being around but she had grown a bit used to the dragon filling up the small pockets of time whenever the other wasn't present or busy.
would just stay with her constantly then.
didn't find that fair at all for him...she could cope by herself.
didn't want her to risk anything, so he'd just be with her.
promised him that she wouldn't put herself at risk or do anything reckless.
still wanted her to be happy though..
would reassure him that he would be fine and stay at the house more. She looked up ahead eventually before looking to him in a quiet voice. " Is there somewhere you want to go?"
nods a little. "No rush, though."
nods and kept walking after, deciding not to question about it.
just planned to go to the willow tree at some time.
thought that was nice. Then again, she wasn't thinking much in all honesty.
could tell. She just seemed empty.
tried to be as understanding and as lively as she could for his sake.
wanted her to be true, not be different just for him.
had trouble being herself because he never seemed to be happy with what she did. The latter was easier on her because it was generally her fault in the first place for not putting him first.
just wished she didn't get into such outrageous things. She had been good as of late.
...had thought she had done everything wrong the entire time because of how he reacted.
just reacted like that because it was how he reacted..
still felt that he wasn't happy of how she really was and decided to just go with everything he wanted instead.
didn't have to be if he didn't want one.
wanted her to still be a nation and have opinions.
felt that she had been too selfish and only think about her own needs such that her opinion didn't really matter. As for her status there was the other Dane as the nation after all but she would do the work.
sighed. If she was responsible for mistakes that'd be a starting point... for now, he just wanted his hyper wife back.
had eventually taken responsibility. She fixed what was causing the problems and never complained or whined.
sighed as he got to the willow tree and just looked up to it.
stayed in her spot after, next to the tree and stayed quiet.
put his hand on the tree, breathing calmly.
seemed to simply space out again.
rested his forehead against the tree, almost talking to it about his issues
noticed and frowned, feeling even worse than before. She looked away and bit her lip harshly after.
sighs. "Don't do that, Dorthe. Your lips are too nice..."
nods as she hesitantly stopped. They were already chapped enough from all the biting she did and the cold didn't help either. She blamed herself for all of this.
didn't react as she usually would, rather she blanked out instead.
frowns as he looekd to her.
shook her head as she snapped back again, looking up to him apologetically.
frowns as she took his hand lightly, despite how cold hers was. " It's my fault, not yours."
blew lightly on her hands. "Want to get some hot chocolate?"
nods, " Ja, if you want."
sighs. "Only if you want to.."
tilts her head slightly as she looked up to him. " I'm fine with where ever you want though."
sighed and just sat down, leaning against the tree.
watched before sitting down beside him without another word. She felt like a nuisance to him.
put his arm around her lightly.
...wondered if he was getting fed up with her? The brief thought had crossed her mind before she thought about Heimdall again and frowned.
wasn't. He didn't want her to leave... He spent a long time on the ring.
just stared at the ring on her hand. She couldn't leave because of him.
took hold of her hand, rubbing his thumb over the ring.
flinched lightly but let him do as he wanted. His hand was warm compared to hers.
tried to warm up her hands slowly.
seemed rather thankful for that as she looked to him. "...Tak."
nods. "I don't want you to get too cold..."
tried to smile even though it wasn't one of her real ones. " I'll be fine. Don't worry." She didn't want to leave him given that she couldn't.
frowned when he saw that. "I can tell when you mean what you say, you know.
tensed slightly, " ...I mean it though." She just tried to cheer up.
shakes his head. "I know how you must feel. It's okay to be sad about this. I just hope you get better, and see the benefit of this."
would often argue and try to put her point of view forward typically. She kept her mouth shut as her eyes watered up and nodded while shifting her gaze.
chewed her lip and sniffled. She had been trying hard to keep her composure the entire time.
wouldn't mind if she just let go. He knew it was a good way to let out emoiton.
didn't want to be as childish because he didn't like it, so she held it inside instead.
didn't think crying was childish.
...had been told that often and would always stay away from others if she was to break down in tears to avoid the scrutiny.
just held her close to his chest. "I won't judge you, you know that..."
shook her head and pushed herself lightly away from him to be able to look at his face. " I know..."
stroked her hair lightly.
rubbed her eyes as she nodded. " Did you want to get some hot cocoa earlier? I don't want you to catch a cold."
shrugs. "Only if you did. I don't want to just drag you around if you want to be home or somewhere else."
frowns before looking him straight in the eye, with the most sincere expression ever. " But I only want to be by your side."
stroked her hair more before getting up a bit. "Let's go to a cafe..."
followed beside him, still holding onto his hand. " Okay."
started taking her to a cafe he knew well.
stayed with him for the entire trek. She tried her best not to space out too much while keeping up with him.
got inside and brought her to a table. "What would you like?"
looked to him before shaking her head, " Anything is fine." Her nose and cheeks were flushed from the cold outside.
got some hot cocoa and treats. Some pastries for her and muffins for him.
took off her coat and settled down in the seat. She kind of sunk into it as she nibbled on a pastry. She seemed so nervous that she didn't notice the flakes sticking to her lips and falling onto her shirt.
sat close to her and stroked her hair some more.
looked up to him innocently, wondering if he wasn't hungry or something.
, he was just worried about her.
stopped eating after a while as she felt like she was acting like a child and rude. She frowned when there wasn't napkin for her to wipe her lip.
kissed them for her before wiping the flakes off lightly.
reddened as she looked at him and nodded dumbly with a small word of thanks.
went back to nibbling her pastry. She frowned, recalling Heimdall really loved eating her baking and sweets.
finished it but was unable to eat another after. She looked to her lap, wondering if she was going to be okay without the dragon.
knew she could be if she tried. He'd be there to support her too.
jdidn't want to depend on him constantly.
didn't either, but he'd help her until she got to be herself again/
just sipped her hot cocoa quietly.
did the same, looking outside.
shifted quietly and spaced out again.
frowns as he watched her.
just thinking about all the happy times she had with Heimdall.
thought she was torturing herself that way. She needed to think how happy he'd be back home
sighed and finished the hot cocoa. "Ready?"
nodded faintly as she tried to get the chocolate stain off her lip. She tried to not be as messy.
rubbed it off with his finger lightly.
jumped a bit but thanked him as she was a bit embrassed by her behaviour.
helped her up and towards the door.
mostly paying attention, walking normally. " You got the bill already?"
nods. "I paid before I sat down. I knew we'd not get anything else."
nods lightly, feeling a tad guilty for her lack of appetite. She knew he didn't like to waste food.
had taken the pastries with him. They were easy enough.
would probably refrain from baking or cooking for a while or even eat pastries or bacon. It reminded her of the dragon too easily.
would cook things that Heimdal didn't like so he didn't make her sad.
wondered if the other even knew what it didn't like?
didn't think he liked veggies that much.
would probably become a vegetarian then.
couldn't live as a vegetarian. And thought she was over reacting a bit.
had a feeling she would just no be able to eat as normal.
would try a variety of things until he found somethin' she'd eat.
just starting walking towards home. She wanted sleep.
kept by her side, watching her occasionally.
started to nod off a little, but focused on walking as straight as she could. The hot cocoa got her sleepy easily.
helped her back into the house and to the bedroom.
curled up in the bed after discarding her shoes and coat .
reached out for him and held onto his sleeve. " ...You?"
nods and sat beside her on the bed.
seemed rather glad for that as she held onto his sleeve close to her chest.
pulled her into a light hug.
shifted and got comfortable.
stroked her hair. "Everything will be okay."
nodded without a word or sound as she fell asleep not long after. She was cold and drained.
joined her in bed and pulled the covers up over them.
buried herself comfortably in his chest. She hadn't felt this sad in a long time...
kept her close to his heart, knowing she needed the comfort.
