they're all wound double stranded.... any advice on rewinding into single strands? i feel like thats not even physically possible

not a clue how to rewind that - perhaps look on the dyer boards on Rav?

I use my sister, she does one strans and I wind the outher. When it gets to much twidt in the strands, I put a pin and unwind it. .

You can do it alone, but is better with two.
