There should be a law against giving really vague feedback on essays. And against writing "hmm" as part of your comments.

Also law against starting any comment with "NO"
"NO – no need for 2ndary quotations, esp when are just a substitute for your own words"
I only feel strongly enough about three things to write NO in capitals
3) Being asked questions in caps
Maybe they had a lot of feelings.
I can however now insult people in the language of my tutor
Maybe! About. Secondary quotations.
Maybe there was some big scholarly smackdown between her and whoever I was quoting
Maybe they killed her dog.
I'm just spitballing ideas here.
If I'm going to go through the effort of writing over 3000 words of history then re-reading it when you send it back to me I want more than just vagueness
One of the ironies: she's said I need to be clearer in my exposition
And this feedback is for 2 essays- one's a week late and the other's 2 weeks late
I love history but not knowing how I can get better at it sucks
