Alright so I'm looking at maintaining weight. This is oddly difficult when you're a spaz with like 4 jobs and junk.
I've been eating mostly junk food lately cause it's super cheap and available in hospital vending machines and 7-11 alike. But my body is smart and it knows that isn't sustenance for real
so it doesn't bother trying to extract nutrients from it. And basically whenever I let my eating habits slide like that I end up losing weight. (I'm not scary skinny or anything! But
Of like my pants to fit ya know?) Anyway I know a lot of you guys are foodies and health nuts, so hook me up with some advice?
Stuff that's fairly cheap but sticks to the ribs! ...I have peanut butter already even though I loathe it so. What else should I incorporate into my diet?
* of = I'd, autocorrect hates that word so much
I've been eating a lot of those tbh I'm clearly doing it wrong. Any specific suggestions?
Haha oh god I hate to admit this but mostly cheeseburgers and candy bars. Pop tarts. Vending machine pretzels. Um...cake. And brownies 'cause I know some friendly baristas. Microwave burritos...
Pasta when my brother feeds me cause he works at an Italian place
Hmm well I've got cheese and bread covered at any rate. I admit I kinda hate yoghurt but I'll give it a go. It's an idea!
Hmm well I have no stove which I admit limits my options but they do have microwave pastas. I've been eating a lot of microwave lasagna anyway so it's not a big stretch
And they definitely make some creamy soups I can maybe check out
I get microwaved pasta because we don't have a stove at work
they can be! I buy them at target because they sell food with damaged boxes for cheaper.
I think they're about $1.80 each
I buy all of my boxed/canned food there since it's all cheaper, then produce at a regular store.
unless there's a crazy good sale at the grocery store, but even with a sale the price isn't usually as good.
Haha yeah you tell me this every time we're drunk in a grocery store together. /noogies
cans of soup are usually $1.50 instead of $2.69 too
(I didn't realize that happened so frequently until just now. Huh. Interesting.)
sometimes they have the microwavable versions too, unless you're okay eating it straight out of the can
hey, it's good advice okay!!
I got really really sick doing that once. I do not recommend it.
and when you factor in coffee every day that shit can get expensive fast :|
which I do because coffee coffee coffee
Beans are another good cheap protein. Eggs too and it's possible to make microwave scramble eggs, though they're not as tasty as stove eggs.
Ah yeah there's a reason I sniff around my bro's place for food sometimes. Hahaha. He rolls his eyes but he always feeds me. /grin
Hmm eggs are pretty cheap. I've got some dried beans too I've just been too lazy, but you're right I should get on that.
... But everything else I keep coming up with needs a stove. I have a microwave cookbook at home, lemme get back to you on this.
yeah we eat a lot of rice and beans too
Dude DON'T DO DRIED BEANS IN A MICROWAVE IT WILL END BADLY I PROMISE YOU. I speak from experience.
I have a plug in hotplate from ye olden days of my NY garage room though, if you would allow me to send that? It's handy.
You have to soften them first dude
What's the proper term for re-hydrate them I'm drawing a blank
Besides no one else is as dangerous in the kitchen as you are. /snrk
I did soften them. They soaked for 2 days. It was still a disaster.
And no you can't send me things. I still haven't picked up my watch from Pana's house I'm not allowed to have things until I can take better care if them. >|
Hush dude I am churning out cookies all month and haven't set a single thing on fire yet.
