neither at teen's school w/o approval of tech director
if tech director says okay is it with password entry?
it's open to teachers but blocked for students. However, our filtering product (Lightspeed) just added a feature that allows us to safely
teachers can use YouTube but not for students
Students can see TeacherTube
stream YouTube videos that we collect into an approved digital library, while stripping out the links toother videos
that way students can use these preselected YouTube videos
beginning to see many other sites mashup with audio or video in youtube so that...
a teacher or student doesn't know why a video doesn't play on another site...cannot see that it is actually in youtube.
as everything begins to link together, it will be frustrating when the filtered videos just simply won't play...ex:
commoncraft.com
staff can use youtube and we open select youtubes for students
Both can use it, but it is a on/off thing. As soon as there is a complaint, it will be off again.
NOW that's the way to go
thetechtiger! Put the responsibility on the kids. Use it right, it stays; use it wrong, it's gone!!!
Staff only at this point,
Teachers have a way around it, yes. Students do not.
nope, YouTube is blocked on all district computers.
I wish we could unblock certain videos.... some colleges posting class videos online - learn for free....
We are just getting to the point that teachers have access.
the time has come for wikis and blogs to address disclaimers and conditions of use....and THEN use these social online learning communities.
no way and I wish we could, so many good things out there
Neither students not staff are allowed to view youtube, gmail, skype, plurk....
