don't worry if the pilot gets better. give the series a chance. Not from effects, not from acting, not from anything overt. Let it tell a silly story and entertain you.

i missed watching it, when it ran on tv here, because it started with "just" war.. oh, thats not mine i thought, seeing the pilot. later i found out, that its one of the nicest scifi series ever for me

so we saw episode 2 the other night. that actually had some dialogue that i thought was clever and amusing. still don't care for any of the characters. but it's tolerable

give it time. the characters are quirky and I'm not sure that it is stereotypical for its genre.
