I was expecting to be out on AV or something now I'm unsure what is expected of me whoops
Basically you keep the panels from going overboard
I've done panel modding before, you basically just sit there with the mic and make sure things flow smoothly
And make sure everything runs smoothly during panel transitions
make sure you ask whether they want you to write any questions or anything
...ah. Now for the part where I sheepishly admit I am not familiar with the term panel
Brb buying pops groceries and then I'll wiki it or something d'oh
have you been to any cons before?
like the event where actors/writers/experts/scholars/whoever are invited to talk
You hit people with a stick when they get out of control. Or maybe I'm making that up.
For real though you'll either be making sure that the panels don't go over in their crowd limit/stand in the back and keep an eye on things
We should get you a funny hat to wear.
Everyone likes funny hats.
no, that's security -- she'll probably be up front
moderators are the people with the mics who do intros and keep things moving
Even better! You can do that in a silly hat too.
And Ava has a good voice, she'll do well.
I have teenage boy voice Sarah. And technically...no. I was at Sakuracon last year but I never went to any of the things.
So like, they interview people who are need famous, but I will most likely not need to do any interviewing, just keep the crowd informed?
I literally just wandered the gardens and checked out people's costumes last year. So sadly I am woefully uneducated about con procedures
you should probably check to make sure you don't need to be the one doing the interviewing
I do remember that I checked out The art tables with Kiwi and Freshy and then I felt sick and sat in the overpass a while. So I have an idea about the art tables.
sometimes they want you to write the questions yourself
although there will also be an audience Q&A
Oh jeez really? Well. I worked for a newspaper once do I suppose I could manage that but that's unexpected. Thanks for the heads up dude, I'll be sure to ask!
