the horse has probably bolted, but this can certainly be described as a 'good thing'
I think it is a good thing for the few groups LL invites. For the rest who will not get the discount it is a bad bad thing. Class LL. They cant even do a good thing well.
I worry that once gone many will not return.
They want to stop the avalanche of non renewals.
I always think you can trace the exact moment of the start of SL's decline to the decision to increase homestead fees. They failed to realize that there was a huge market at that 75 dollar price point for a
sim sized area with 1/4 of the normal amount of prim resources.
AND, it was the huge and massive adoption of homestead sims that caused their knee jerk reaction. I remember several friends who either had just got one of those or were extremely excited to get one.
This was replaced by vehement disgust and alienation of the very same people. Many of whom quit over this.
I remember this was the key moment that Bettina Tizzy, who at the time was the organized force of the virtual art world became alienated and stopped her work. The art world has never recovered from it.
So. Failure to recognize a successful price point in their product line created just the opposite of what they would have wished to happen.
well said Scarp. Very well said
