i questioned being induced on this fb mommy group i'm in and i swear it's like i mentioned the worst thing ever
I was induced, twice, with the last one
My hormones don't work properly, neither did my mums all her babies were induced. The twins were emergency c section at 37 weeks so not really the same thing
People get so uptight about which is the best way to give birth. Just ignore them, if you need inducing then you need inducing
I didn't have an epidural (Had a spinal for the c section). You probably shouldn't mention c sections or bottle feeding on your fb group either
They tried inducing with my first since I was 2 1/2 weeks overdue and he was running out of room. They ended up giving me a spinal and a c section.
I always thought being induced was not a choice. Who would choose to be induced? Doesn't the pitocin make you have more painful contractions? I thought it was because your body was not fully going into labor
I'm not sure where the controversy is in that. Are they indicating because it's not natural, it's not good for the baby?
There are some serious anti all medical intevention people out there. I've been frowned upon for having my emergency c section, for bottle feeding my twins and for being induced. But to me I'm not sure that
myself or both my children would have survived without the hospital staff, I'd rather have them safe and well then be able to take some purist birthing high ground
i should think the only two people who's opinion on this should matter is the mother's and her doctors....
Daila_Holder: sometimes it can be a choice if mother and dr agree.. most will induce at 39 weeks if you have reasons for wanting to be
Kittyliscious: haha oh yes..it all started bc i mentioned c section..like if a person could just choose that but the girls said no it had to be medically necessary
for insurance to pay for it.
i do plan to breastfeed if all goes ok but natural labor isn't for me i want the damn epidural and any other drugs they wanna slip in there so i don't feel shit lol
that's also another thing i don't want lol for them to tell me it's too late for one D:
You can choose a c section after you have one. I had all 4 of mine by c section and have never been in labor.
I have had a C-section and have been induced for 3 long days. The only complaint I really had is that it made it difficult to pee while having a contraction! LOL
i mean my reasoning is.. the bf works 2 hours away and they are doing lots of overtime and then my hospital is another 30 min away and i stay home alone with no car.
so i was just kinda wondering about the options in the group and got attacked lol
Have you spoken with your doctor about what option might be best for you?
not yet i go monday morning and i will be 37 weeks
If they decide to do it per your request, they will make you wait as long as possible.
I can't remember if you said if this is your first or not, but labour can take aaaaaaaages and your boyfriend will probably have more than enough time to come and get you before you're getting to one every 5
minutes. Any chance you have neighbours who could run you in for petrol money?
it is my first and hopefully only.. i know if i start early labor that can take hours and hours before needing to go i'm just nervous :/
i just moved in with him so idk any of these neighbors.. i tend to keep to myself lol
i guess i just wanna know i have the option if i decide to take it
Ahh fair enough. Discuss it with your doctor though, you might need to be induced anyway so who knows! It can take forever though, my last labour from start to finish was 15 hours.
I slept for a good 4 hours of that too!
