Yesterday I went to a place called Snake Road. It is a gravel road in southern Illinois known for having a huge population of snakes which migrate this time of year.
There are tall cliffs with lots of places to hide during the winter on one side of the road; on the other side of the road are swamps with lots of tasty fish and frogs for the snakes to eat.
I am glad that the snakes have a sanctuary, they need one. You know that snakes make the best pets right? they are clean, quiet, cuddly and don't eat a lot!
Ohhh, a little garter snake... I used to pick them up as a child... or at least similar to this stripped one. BTW, what was the banded one at the neck?
