had gotten there extra early to make sure to be there. He loved seeing Nor happy.
adjusts his bunad jacket a little as he passes by a group of girls giggling and taking pictures of each other. One takes a step back and accidentally bumps into him, which he brushes off with a small smile. _
They exchange congratulations before he continues on his way.
couldn't help but just warm up at the sight of the other looking so happy. Normally if someone bumped into him he'd just cast them a warning glare before walking off. He was wearing a similar Norwegian bunad,
mostly so he didn't look out of place. And he was celebrating too, in a way.
oblivious to the Dane's presence, for once it being nearly indistinguishable among the humans even with him being a nation. His population's collective excitedness was the only thing on his mind.
knew it would be, which made it easy for him to walk around without being on the look out. He didn't want to be spotted by the other anyways, for once. He had a plan and he needed to be hidden to accomplish it.
slowly making his way towards the main street, though was sometimes a little side-tracked by encounters on the way. A young boy recognised him as 'the fiddle-player', and by the mother's consent he calmly _
crouched down to be a good audience for him while he jumped around with a play-pretend fiddle.
laughed quietly when he saw that. He carefully took out a camera and started taking photos of the other. This would be great.
clapped for the boy once he was done flailing around, taking a mental note of keeping a track on his musical prowess in the future and perhaps subtly nudge it on. He parted with the two as the kid got antsy _
for ice cream, and checked the pocket watch from inside his jacket. Still some time before the parade.
subtly followed the other in his adventures. He did cheer and congratulate Norwegians though as he passed, using as much Norwegian as possible since he was self concious about Danish.
finally having reached the main street leading straight up to the Castle, he made a turn in direction of the building in the distance. However, he slowed down as a particulary old man made eye-contact with _
him. He knew him, of course, but the last time they'd met had been fourty years ago. He stood still as the old one approached, clasping his hands in both of his and congratuling him personally. Håkon smiled _
wryly and returned the gesture, noticing sadly that the man was still bothered by his knee injury as he limped away.
didn't know if he'd have enough film to last for all these moments, but he did get a lot just to be safe. He almost forgot to take a photo of the other during the encounter, feeling enlightened about the
emotion the two expressed. He knew Håkon, of course, but this was a new side of him. Or more so, a hidden side. He never got to see him interact too much with his people regularly, but this all was so much. It
could almost bring a tear to his eye at how beautiful everything was.
continued cluelessly up the street. There were children running across the street in nice clothing and waving noisy toys or flags, adults and teens chatting and laughing as they all steadily cleared off the _
road to stand on the pavement on either side - everyone preparing for the parade.
made sure to find his way around the people carefully, and without being disrespectful. He found a good spot where he could photograph the other without being in anyone's way, while also being able to enjoy the
parade. He still couldn't seem to take his eyes off the other though. Even if this mission was to take photographs of it, he kept admiring the other.
finally came to a stop just at the end of the official street, where the road widened into the great space before the Castle. He checked his pocket watch again, a small spark in his eye as, if on cue,
faint marching band music started in the distance.
amazed he could keep up with the other without losing him. He kept on his toes just to make sure he wasn't noticed still, but did enjoy his time as well. He was here to celebrate after all.
remained where he was as the crowd on the sidewalks bustled about to get a good view of the coming parade - though it was hard to miss. As the band at the front reached them with enthusiastic reinditions of _
the children's own national anthem, Håkon allowed himself a warm private smile.
made sure to snap a few pictures, now worried if he'd have enough film for all the events today. He sighed quietly, just glad to see the other so happy...
watched the parade eventually march past the Castle, the childrens' day reaching its peak as the royal family waved to them from their balcony. Håkon had only stood up there on a few special occasions, but_
prefered to blend in with the crowd instead.
continued to blend in perfectly with the crowd, filling up a few rolls of film as he manage to capture a few rare smiles the other had.
hummed quietly along to the last audible songs of the slowly departing parade as it marched on to the next location. The remaining crowd gradually dispersed or mingled, and after a few minutes Håkon found_
himself in the latter category as two teens came up to exchange congratulations with him.
did his best to keep hidden now, getting closer and closer to the other. Before he could be found out though, he walked away, talking to a few people on the way as they just looked so happy. He needed some time
shook either teen's hand, and recieved half a hug from one of them before they parted. Despite all the happy people around him, he felt as if something was missing... It took just a moment before it clicked, _
and the Norwegian swiftly found his phone and looked for any messages or calls.
hadn't left any messages, but not because he didn't want to. He was busy, and would be until later that night. He did work as hard as he could.
