I am so so so tired of being catcalled and honked at every time I go outside. No, it does not matter what I wear. Yes, it is scary when people tell me "hey girlfriend, how you doin? I love you!" when they
don't know me.
It is startling to get honked at when I'm minding my own business on the way home.
I have been catcalled and honked at a total of eight times today, three times when I went out for five minutes wearing jeans and a t-shirt and five times when I went out wearing a nice shirt.
One time some people honked about eight times in succession to make sure I turned around. I just. It's scary and awful and I hate street harassment.
I am truly sorry it makes you feel this bad. I hate it, too. I just have no idea what to do about it.
It's not your fault. Venting about it helps a bit.
It all boils down to Boys Are Stupid, and there are Not Enough Gentlemen in your neighborhood.
