Specially since to balance my lack of words to describe a motion or a scene I tend to use comparisons and relate to day to day scenes...

So yeah, I keep wondering when someone will be irked for me to write that she looks at a person with "feeling of love and pride, similar to what a mother looks at her son when he gives a graduation speech"

I think it depends to me on whether it's a comparison the character would think or not?

I prefer when people use ones that relate to the character in some way

even if they're not ones that really belong in smut

Yeah, but the thing is, I lack of words often to describe her in her exact terms... since she is a very very old demons which sees everyone as her children...

and it's like.. how do you describe with material terms the feeling of a mother being proud... since it is what she is feeling... in her very non human way....

because it is not a type of eye... it's like, something you know that it's in that look... not pupils dilating and saying that she looks at it lovingly it's sort of... lacks of texture...

that makes sense!
