might have been trying to find the other. He wanted it to be a surprise though, so he was sneaking around until he spotted him.
standing a slight bit away from the rest of the platoon, watching the men, trying to remember their strengths and assessing who would do well with what missions. It was just something he always did...
smirked when he saw him and quickly made his way over. He walked up behind him before covering the others eyes. "Guess who~"
would probably have punched the man behind him if he hadn't heard the others voice before he'd had time to react. He snorted at how childish the Dane was being. "Søren, cut it out" he said with a small smile
smiled widely and let go, bouncing a bit with excitment. "I'm glad I found ye. We really lucked out, eh?"
couldn't help but smile at the others excitement as he turned around to face him. "Yeah, I guess we did"
kept looking around, still getting used to things. "My platoon is only a kilometre or so from here. So I can visit when I have time off."
chuckled. "You wanna show me where your camp is then? so that I don't get bored when there's nothing to do, that is"
hums. "It's a bit of a walk uphill from here... why don't we just wander around this area? We could find a meetin' spot to sneak to once a week or so so we can get together and talk or somethin'."
smiled at the other. "Sure, sounds like a plan"
smiles and started walking away from the group, having no real idea of what was around the platoon.
followed the other, letting him lead the way, by always staying one step begin him. "How are you finding it yet?"
shrugs. "It's not as bad as I thought. To be honest I figured we'd be crawlin' through mud, climbin' over dead soldiers and that." He pushed through some branches, noticing a clearing up ahead.
Shook his head and chuckled lightly. "It happens some times, but mostly, to start with at least, it's just walking a lot, seeing how close the two fronts can get to each other before battle starts"
nodded before stopping near the clearing. There was a bit of a field in front of them, and it looked peaceful. At least to the Dane.
stopped beside the Dabe, arm brushing lazily against the other as he shifted his feet to gain better balance on the uneven ground. "Wow... You'd never think this place was in the middle of a battlefield"
didn't bother moving to give them space. Out here, he kind of liked being close to the other so he knew he wasn't alone. "Ja... It almost makes ye want to take a break from all this and walk through it." He
sighed quietly. "But war never takes a break."
hummed in agreement. "Sadly not, no, but it will stop. Eventually. And the sooner it does, the faster we can take a break from it"

sighed quietly as he thought about the fields back home. He remembered innocently running through them with his sister... He turned his back to the field soon after to continue going through another part of the

followed the Dane, watching the others back as they walked. He still couldn't believe that such a light hearted man could ever have signed up for the war. It just didn't feel right to spoil such a spirit.
thought of himself as a strong person. Even if something brought him down, he always rebounded. He was just that kind of person whose spirit could never be broken.
kept on walking behind the other, glancing up at the quickly darkening sky once in a while. "Are we looking for anything specific, btw? Or are we just walking to enjoy each other's company?"
smirks. "Well, I'm kinda on the hunt for a bathin' place. I've seen some guys clean themselves with buckets, but bein' from Denmark I like bein' in large bodies of water... but the company is nice too."
chuckles at the other. "Leave it to you to be the hopeful one, huh? But it's getting late, we should probably head back to the camps"
pouted a little. "Kay... but one day we gotta find some kind of river. I don't wanna bathe from a bucket." He stopped and just stared deeper into the forest, wondering what could be out there.
stopped also, watching the other curiously. "You look like you're waiting for a bear to jump out at you or something"
shivered a bit. "A bear. Ye're kiddin', right? I'm terrified of those things." He punched the other lightly in the arm before heading back to the others camp. "I just miss the wilderness."
chuckled at the other. "Well, I think it will be a long time before we hit a city, so you'll be getting plenty of wilderness for a while"
shook his head at that. "I don't mind wilderness... just not bears. Or moose. Those things are terrifyin'."
laughs at the other gently. "But aren't there a tonne of them up from where you are? Or is that one of those other Northern countries?"
smirks. "One of the more Northern ones. Norway and Sweden have all the big animals. Biggest in Denmark is a fox. Or something like that."
chuckled again, bumping his shoulder against the other. "Don't worry then. I'll protect you from the big scary beasts of the non-Danish wilderness" he teased
laughed and lightly pushed him away. "I can protect myself, tak. I just can't promise there won't be any girlish screams." He was slightly glad to see the others camp again, knowing that they were close to
laughed again. "I'll be sure to keep my ears open for some girlish screams then. Seeing as not even the girls here will scream at bears, I'll know it was you"
couldn't help but laugh even more, knowing he set himself up well for that. "What a true friend ye are. More so of a dick, but that's better. Means ye won't sugar coat things when the goin' is tough."
sighed quietly, not exactly knowing how to reply. He didn't want to kill the mood, he enjoyed seeing the other so happy, but he knew that later on the Dane would wish he would sugarcoat some things
would have to experience that for himself. He got to the others camp and smiled, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Take care, ja? Ye better be here the next time I visit."
turned to face the Dane and gave him an assuring nod. "I will be, don't worry"
smiles and nods, ruffling up his hair before walking off, back towards his camp. "Farvel, Ludwig~"
pats his hair back down. "Tschüss, Søren"
continued to smile as he walked away, eager to meet up again in a few days.
