idk as someone who never went to art school, when instructors push modern trends to me I wouldn't feel that they're not appreciating my style or w/e

I guess I'm at the point where I've stopped drawing for myself and am more concerned with how I can satisfy clients

if modern art is the demand right now, I'd better damn well get it right

I do agree with a lot of comments that stresses the importance of technical skills -- if I could enrol in art school right now I'd want to learn as many techniques and concepts as I can

(under the guidance of a learned professional)

but idk I guess I've started to think that going into school so they can help you be who you want to be is a bit dangerous...

schools shape you into the kind of person society wants you to be most of the time

I guess it's a bit of a balance though
