idk as someone who never went to art school, when instructors push modern trends to me I wouldn't feel that they're not appreciating my style or w/e

I do agree with a lot of comments that stresses the importance of technical skills -- if I could enrol in art school right now I'd want to learn as many techniques and concepts as I can
