[Event] had hoped everything he had was right... He wasn't sure he could believe all the information he found out.
quietly took a nap under one of the trees nearby the fields. She had heard nothing but about the war but things seemed to have gotten quiet lately that she assumed things had gone well.

wondered if he had found her brother. She had been waiting for a long time for his return that the days and weeks passed by quickly.
guessed he had, as when he handed him the note he seemed to understand. He got back to her, and lightly shook her awake.
rubbed her eyes as she awoke, still lying down as she had been tired that day. " Hm...?" She had thought it was Elise or one of the dogs from the nearby ranch that liked to visit.
held out a letter. "This is for you..."
blinks and stared at him. Seeing him back safely was more than enough shock for her as she hugged him immediately with an overwhelming sense of relief. " You're back!"
hissed at that, lightly putting his arms around her.
hugged him tightly as she almost didn't want to let go but had to eventually as she sat back a bit to give him room. "...How was it? The trip I mean."
took a deep breath. "Painful, but I think successful."
frowns as her tone quickened, " Where are you hurt?" She was more worried about him right now.
shakes his head a bit. "It's fine now. I learned quickly that when approaching a Gondwana camp it's different than a Laurasia camp." He just got comfortable and leaned against a tree.
made a weak sound as she looked guilty for sending him on a task like that. " I'm sorry..." She had been filled with guilt during the entire time he was away but tried to stay cheerful and hopeful.
shrugs. "I didn't think to ask. I was just eager to go so this war would end..."
took his hand lightly after, " So I'm guessing you met my idiot brother after all then?"
nods. "I think so. He read the letter and all, then wrote you one..."
looked around for the letter after. " What does it say?"
made sure to put it in her hand. "How would I know?"
blinks before opening it up. She hoped for the best...
closed his eyes as he relaxed. He had pushed himself to get there quickly, and to get his job done. He hadn't read it, so he hoped it was for the best too.
read through it slowly, not sure what it meant at all. "...Does he even remember how to write in Danish anymore?"
shrugs. "I wouldn't know. He did seem very distracted though."
sighed as she folded it up and put it back in the envelope. " What was his reaction to the trinket then?" She looked to him after.
sighs. "He looked surprised to see it? I'm not the best at gauging reactions."
wrinkled her nose, " Did you at least remember what he called me?" She just wanted to make sure.
frowns. "What do you mean?"
grew tense, " My brother has a nickname for me. If he didn't mention it, you might have given it to the wrong person..."
got comfortable again as he crossed his arms. "Thea."
watched him as she seemed a little relieved, " Are you sure?"
nodded. "I'm positive."
smiles faintly as she slumped a bit after, " That's good then." She had been worried sick about everything despite not showing it. " Are you hungry by any chance?"
shakes his head. "I've not had much of an appetite after getting hurt."
frowns, " Can I take a look at that? I mean your injury." She looked at him after. " Just to make sure there isn't any infection."
nodded a bit as he lifted his sleeve to show where he was shot in the arm, then his side to show another bullet wound.
made a weak sound out of guilt when she saw it but kept calm after. " Let's go inside. I have the tools to treat it there."
shrugged as he covered them again. "They were treated in the camp. They managed to get most of the bullet fragments out."
shook her head as she tugged at his uninjured arm lightly. " Most doesn't mean all. It can still get infected from how they treated it." She felt really guilty now.
followed her, tired from the journey. "Compared to what could have happened, everything went well."
huffed a bit as she ushered him to the bathroom first of the house on the farm. " I don't have to wash you do I?" She paused. " Actually...maybe I should to make sure you don't have bot flies or anything."
shivered at the thought. "Nee. I'd know if I had those... If you want though I can shower, and get into some comfortable clothes so you can inspect my arm."
pouted, " Your doctor knows best, now go undress while I prepare the bath." Half the reason was of course not trying to see him naked. It was just part of her job.
rolled his eyes as he got out of his clothes and found a towel to cover himself with before walking into the bathroom. He just wanted to rest his muscles.
had the bath ready for him as she had retrieved some medical tools to treat him as well. " Good you didn't get lost." She nodded over to the bath after.
walked over and stood in front of it. "... Are you honestly going to watch me bathe?"
scowls at him, " Inspecting injuries." She corrected. " I'm not a pervert!" She was stubborn but she wanted to help him.
huffed as he put the towel on the rack to keep it from getting wet before getting in, making sure his back was at least to her before he got in.
looked away and waited for him to settled down before going to inspect the injury on his arm first. " Stop worrying about me looking. It's not like size matters that_

took his time, and when the water got cold he finally got out. He dried himself off before going to get changed.
knocked on the door just as he was leaving the bathroom. " Broer~ I brought your clothes for you. It's less of a walk to the bedrooms."

smiles and nods, " Will do. She asked me to help bandage you up as well after you're done since she had to make an important errand."
frowned a little before nodding. He slowly closed the door again so he change, feeling good to get in some clean clothes.
hummed as she played with one of the cats that liked to lurk around. " Was the trip successful, broer?"

nods a little at that and went to put his shoes on.
blinks as she wrapped up his wounds as best as she could. " Are you going somewhere?"

nodded as he headed out. "She said she'd bandage my wounds, so she will." He mostly just wanted to be around her.
seemed rather puzzled by her broer's behaviour but huffed a bit. " Just come back for dinner. I'm cooking for tonight." She never understood him or the Dane well.
gave a faint wave as acknowledgement before heading off and looking for Dorthe, trying to keep his shirt away from the wounds so the blood wouldn't stain his shirt.
sighed as her mind was clouded in thoughts while going over some charts. Apparently this emergency was more so the guy trying to get her attention again.
managed to find the cottage area easily enough, and headed up to knock on the door.
saw the butler go answer the door as she was prescribing some medication for the fellow. She seemed a little out of it as she didn't notice the male being a bit closer than usual.
just explained that he needed to see Dorthe in order for his wounds to be treated and started walking in to find her.
shifted away awkwardly as she was adverting the other male's advances. She packed up and hurried to the hallway as the sick male tried to coerce her to stay as per usual.
had already heard him and was there instantly, narrowing his eyes and the male.
tried to ignore his advances with more excuses until she walked straight into the Dutchman in a clumsy manner.
didn't wince from the impact and just took her arm lightly and started walking her out of the cottage.
followed along as she wanted to be out of the place. She frowned when she saw that he was bleeding though. " Elise didn't bandage you up?"

made a sound, " Why? You're going to get them infected at this rate." Her tone full of worry.
shakes his head. "It'll be okay until we get back..." He was eager to get her back home.

glad when they got back home. He took his shoes off and went to the bedroom to clean up a bit, considering he left in a hurry.
settled down and put away her equipment as she went to the barn to check on the animals. Elise had clean up for him on the other hand.

came by a little later as she passed his room. She went over and pulled the covers to keep him warm.
mumbled quietly as he rolled onto his back and sleepily glanced at her.
tried hard not to react too much to him as she looked back down. She averted her gaze to his injury before slowly turning away to leave. " I'll go make some tea for you."
frowns a bit. "You don't have to."
looked to him after, " Are you sure?" She thought it was something he usually wanted before.
nods. "Mhmm... You need to relax..."
exhaled quietly as she nodded, " I guess..." She sat quietly at the edge of the bed.
nods as he closed his eyes. "You look worn out. And stressed."
rubbed her own arm as she frowned, " You could tell...?"
nods. "I can't tell emotions easily, but I know when someone is stressed."
sighed quietly, " Sorry. Should I leave you be so it doesn't rub off on you?"
shakes his head. "Nee... I don't think it will."
blinks and nodded after, " Okay." She reached over messing up his hair. "...You did come in a hurry earlier didn't you?" She noted he usually had less flatter hair.
nodded a little at that, keeping quiet.
pulled her hand away slowly, resting it on the bed. She was more used to him swatting her away. " I'm sorry I should have stayed to patch you up first so you didn't have to go all the way."
shakes his head a bit. "... I wanted to see you."
seemed a little caught off guard by that statement as her cheeks pinked in colour. " Oh..." She wasn't even sure how to reply since she hadn't heard someone say that to her before.
frowns. "I was serious about earlier."
seemed confused by that, " About what?" She wasn't the sharpest tool in the box.
frowned and looked away. "... Never mind."
frowns, " If there's something you want to say, you should tell it straight forwardly." She felt bad for not being understanding enough.

helped his sister set up the dinner table as there was a lot of food laid out, especially his favourites. Elise really went all out for him.
could feel his mouth water before he even sat down. When he was seated though he just looked around.
sat at the table after bringing the utensils. " Eat up~ I made enough to last thirds, fourths and fifth helpings." She smiles, glad to see him alive and well.
dug in, clearly hungry from his journey. He hadn't been able to eat too much since he wanted to save his food, so now he just ate.
stiffled her giggles as she and the Dane ate after. She glanced over to the two, every now and then curious about how close her broer was to the other woman.

watched regardless with her cat-like amusement. " I think my bed broke earlier when one of the cow's decided to sit on it. Do you mind if I borrow Dorthe's bed_

nuzzled his neck contently from the answer as she rested ontop of him, pressing her own body against his for the warmth and comfort. She also liked the extra bit of contact.
tilted his head back a bit as he pulled her closer, quietly enjoying being this close to someone.
gently nipped at his neck out of playfulness as she figured the night as was still young. She just liked being kept occupied despite the quietness.
shivered from that and shifted a little away.

made a few quiet sounds. "Something stable is good..."
hums, " You mean the sex or the relationship?"
blushed a bit. "... Both?"
chuckles as she drew quiet and focused on the knots on his back. " You'll have to teach me more then."
nodded at that. "I know quite a bit... I just don't want any kids."
blinks, " You're still brooding over that?"
shrugs. "I wouldn't be a good father."
laughs at how odd he sounded, " How would you know if you haven't even tried?"
sighs. "I can't even help my sister. And I swear too much. Besides, I can't deal with them."
tilted her head as she seemed amused. " Your sister seems fine to me and I've never heard you swear much before. As for dealing with kids, dealing with your own and someone else's are a lot different."
shrugs. "Either way I hate them."
seemed offended by his statement and drew quiet as she worked. She didn't think children were bad and once in a while she would visit the orphans that found refuge in the town and give them check ups.

didn't find them all loud. She finished up and let him be as she cleaned up the material. She wasn't going to force any decisions on him though.
thanked her and got comfortable in the bed after. He just didn't know what to think or do.
went to get a beer or two to drink downstairs after. She liked drinking a bit before she slept.
tried not to drink as much anymore, since he got a little out of control.
didn't mind drinking alone. She had grown used to that by now.
would drink if she wanted him to join her.
thought he would've wanted to rest instead. She had gone outside with a case of beer since she wanted to watched the stars.
decided to go out and sit with her..
laid on her back quietly on a pile of hay as she watched the sky. She had zoned out again as usual.
quietly sat down beside her, enjoying the night breeze.
had closed her eyes by the time he got there as she rested quietly.
looked over to her before looking up to the sky, going to being quiet.
blinked when she heard a sound. " I thought you'll be sleeping by now." She glanced over to him, raising a brow at the fact that he was still shirtless.
shakes his head. "I decided to come out."
nodded lightly as she looked back up to the sky. " I guess that makes sense." She sat up and downed a bottle of beer after.
"How many have you had?"
blinked as she looked at the empty bottle before putting it with the rest of the empty bottles in the case. " Hm? I've lost count." She hadn't been thinking about that really.
nods a little at that.
smiles sheepishly, " Sorry if I seem like I'm in a bad mood now..."
"Why are you?"
covered her own eyes after a while. " Maybe I've been by myself for far too long or that I'm just burning out.."
nods a little at that. "Well, you're not alone here."
ran a hand through her hair as she sighed. " I guess."
"You guess? Would you rather I leave you, then?"
smirks, " I don't have any say on what you want. If even I want you to stay, I won't stop you if you have to go. I'm not the type of person to hold others down."
shrugs. "I don't have any reason to leave, so..."
shook her head as she laid back down on the hay again, " I don't think I should be the only reason you're staying here. Elise said she was planning to head home once it was safe enough."
sighs. "I don't trust it there though."
nods lightly, " Then go without me.'
huffed. "I'm not leaving here."
glanced over to him, " And why is that?"
sighs. "I've work too hard here to just leave.."
smiles, " It'll always be the same wherever you go."
shakes his head. "Nee. I've put too much effort into the house here."
closed her eyes after, " What about Elise then?"
sighs. "I can't run after her forever..."
hummed softly, " Then what would you do now?"
sighs some more. "Stay..."
shrugs, " I really doubt I would be a good reason to stay from what you're saying."
looks to her. "How do you mean?"
raised a brow, " How? I don't know." She thought he worded it funny.
didn't know how to word what he wanted to say... He just didn't want to leave...
chuckles, " I don't mind the idea of growing old and living most of my life here. It sounds better than a life filled with all sorts of drama and politics. Means I don't need to think about dressing up either."
nods at that. "I've only ever been a poor person. To have wealth seems... lazy."
laughs at that, " It's boring and lonely. All I did was study since I didn't want to get involved. The only plus was sneaking into the kitchen to get my favourite foods."
sighs. "I've worked since I could walk. I didn't talk to anyone while I worked... so I never had friends, only connections. And only traders."
smiles as she turned her head to him, " I envy you really." She sighed softly. " It sounds better to work with so much and earn everything by your own power. My world has nothing of that. Everything_

nods. "Ja, but it makes it that much harder when you lose everything you've worked for..."
smiles more, " So? More of a reason to keep on striving for what you want."
nods. "Which is exactly why I don't want to leave this place. I put a lot of time in, and plan to do a lot more..."
chuckles as she closed her eyes slowly, " Mmm...that's good then." She was tired by now and a little happier to hear that.
sighed quietly. He didn't want to lose what he had again.
doubted that would happened.
just hoped he didn't. He was always paranoid...
held onto his hand as she felt into a light sleep. She would make sure it didn't.
looked over to her and frowned a bit. "Hey, Dorthe."
made a faint sound in reply.
nudged her lightly. "Let's get back inside..."
shifted, "...I never get much of a chance to sleep outside."
nods a little. "It won't be fully safe until the war is over..."
frowns as she had been too comfortable to get up now. " I know."
went to go pick her up and bring her to bed.
sighed but didn't struggled as she was too tired to do so. She fell into a light sleep again by the time they got back inside.
carefully got her to the bed and laid her down, letting her relax on the bed.
blinked when she felt the movement and held onto his hand. She was half awake but she muttered to him quietly. " ...I don't want to be alone." She was more honest in her current state.
nods at that. "Is it okay is I wash up and change before joining you?"
frowns but nods before letting go of his hand. She seemed rather saddened by that but did want to tie him down.
went and washed his face quickly before getting his shirt off and changing into other pants. He got into the bed shortly after, not taking long.
had fallen asleep by then as she was facing the wall. She couldn't tell how quick he was cause it seemed like forever to her.
got comfortable and looked over to her, frowning a bit that he took so long.
slept quietly, curled up as she was used to this by now. She couldn't say how much she missed him because she didn't want to seem weak or needy.
tried to roll her over so he could wrap an arm around her.
shifted into him easily as she was asleep.
got comfy with her before trying to sleep.
curled into him as she muttered his name quietly.
smiled a bit. "Goednacht, Dorthe..." He fell asleep quickly after.
mumbled a reply back in return as she continued to sleep. " Godnat."
