Any release notes w.r.t. changes from 4.4.0.33720?
Yes, they're linked from the blog post.
Hmmm. It looks like it could be faster than 4.4.0 (BTW, switching from 4.3.1 to 4.4.0 was almost like getting a small hardware upgrade).
"Attempting to upload a temporary texture or snapshot on a serverside appearance enabled region results in an “Unable to upload asset” notification.
The server will no longer support this feature once serverside appearance is turned on."
Zaafir: Local textures are better/faster anyway. They started to screw with temp textures a while ago. When you go to select texture on a prim, go over to where it says 'Local' instead.
Once you select the texture from your hard drive, every save you make to that file will get uploaded automatically temporarily and you can test it just the same
Silachan: Thank you. I hadn't seen that before.
No prob. Sometimes it glitches and won't update the saved file. Just re-try it by "uploading" it again the same way.
Yeah, temp uploads were known to be reaching their demise ages ago. Here is more info on where to find/how to use local textures:

And I happened to take this yesterday to use somewhere else. Basic picture of local texture picker in use:
Local apparently works for others too, so you can use it to see what someone else thinks...
Depends if there is a fix to prevent crashing because of mesh then I may consider it
Thanks for fixing the snapshots!
Pinkie86: We have one specific crash specialist dev who continually fixes crashes based on crash reports that get sent in. Is the particular one you're experiencing fixed? No idea, but trying won't hurt.
If you're on a version prior to 4.4.0, then you can consider this upgrade mandatory anyway, or you won't be seeing avatars correctly after LL rolls out Server-Side Appearance at the server end.
If you're on 4.4.0, it's less critical but still STRONGLY recommended, as it has a lot of bug fixes and some improvements over 4.4.0
's SSA code. For instance, after the SSA rollout, you will find yourself rebaking a lot to see yourself on 4.4.0, whereas that issue is fixed in 4.4.1.
(That's the second item down in the
change log for this release.)
guess i have to have a try

no harm can come of it... Sad thing is I got a new Graphics Card and I still get jaggy everything when I activate it
Activate lighting and shadows that is
Oh that's because Advanced Lighting Model and antialiasing don't work together. That's normal, but some people are particularly sensitive to it.
could it also be because I have an ATI?
Sorry, just fact-checked, and yeah, they're incompatible for some but not everyone. Though don't know what the defining line is. I don't think it's as simple as having an ATI card, though.
I hope not lol I just got it, works fine on LL viewer except shadows are not greatly smooth
Ok, I don't know how up to date this page is, but the very last item is what systems the combo work on ("deferred rendering" = "lighting and shadows" = "advanced lighting model"):
wiki.secondlife.com/wiki...
If your system is one of those combos and you're still not seeing it work, then make sure you're relogging after you change settings to get it to kick in.
Okay I will have a read, thank you so much
GPU table updates
Added ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5000.. I like this
Done! Thank you thank you thank you for fixing the issues with certain video cards!! Works like a dream.
Sadly after everything I still get the jagged edges when activating lighting and shadows, my friend recommended a NVIDIA GeForce GT630... I barely know nothing of Graphics cards

will this work?
LettePonnier: Ah, good to know. I've been doing a LOT of rebaking for others lately, even shortly after I've relogged.
Another thought, though... does your computer have a dual GPU with both ATI and Intel? If so, make sure FS is picking up the ATI card properly (if you go to Help > About FS, it would show in the info).
magzkam: That's probably different from what I was referring to above, since that had to do with what would come after the server-side SSA rollout. But we've been hearing positive feedback on 4.4.1 rezzing.
well I didn't do a "clean install", figured I could if something borked, but it seems ok
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 7750 Dual-Core Processor (2699.99 MHz)
Memory: 3328 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 (Build 2600) compatibility mode. real ver: 6.0 (Build 2900)
Graphics Card Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
not sure if that is correct lol
Pinkie86: You're in compatibility mode. Don't know if you're using that for any particular reason, but I wonder if it's affecting what you're seeing.
To get out of that, right click desktop shortcut -> properties -> compatibility tab -> untick "Run this program in compatibility mode for..." -> apply -> Ok. then restart the viewer & test again
Sorry honey I did not see this, I had no idea what that was lol I will try and change that now
There is nothing ticked there :S
