i was ejected... and i wasn't AFK. i was shopping and the vendors were not accepting my purchases...
so i was just waiting. going back and forth between the vendors to see if i could get the nyu leather shorts and the caroline nails...
which i was getting the pay message ok... but it wasn't delivering the item or on my trans history. then i get a message from i assume a monitoring script on the sim.
Aw sorry Vi
well i think ejecting people is especially rude as we are all there trying to shop for a cause... it's just sad.
TylerBarineaux: just sad i wanted to continue shopping, and don't understand why i was ejected.
the sim even capped though?
what did the notice thingy say? can't read it!
that script was there when I was re-setting up my store already. I thought exactly the same thing. Ejecting ppl that are shopping for a good cause isn't a nice thing to do.
i was on the sim shopping... it was super laggy, which is understandable. but then i got a message about being afk... and then maybe 1 minute later
i mean it's probably safe for her to take the script thing off now or raise the limit, I'm sure it's past it's peak now
i got the second message... which i screen shot that said
also she said it was moved to a magnum server so it can handle way more then when it was on the second life server
maybe tag her in this plurk? She's new to running events and probably doesn't know
that's something I had to learn (the hard way to lol)
CrackedMirror: the second message says "Sorry but even warned you seemed not to understand that the sim is full and is good to let other people to enjoy shopping" then it ejected me
that looks like it was a customized message she put in the script thingy so I don't think she directly sent that message to you
but if the sim isn't capped that is yeah... no reason for it to be kicking you out... you should tell her!
I only know Casja from her plurks but this does not sound like her at all.... She might not have know this message was in the script?
mavi_beck: the thing that sucks is that i wasn't afk loool i was looking from vendor to vendor trying to buy the nyu leather shorts and the caroline nails... but the trans werent' going thru
CrackedMirror: i know the message wasn't personal but it's a sim monitoring script she activated. the event has been open for several days... wonder how many were ejected like me who were NOT afk
i've been hearing all sorts of things about being booted for scripts when not even close to limit as well
i think the problem was the first day the sim literally was down half the day because it kept crashing with script counts etc.... but what a lot of people don't understand is that the script monitors that
actually eject people actually cause a lot of lag itself because every time an avatar leaves or enters the region it makes the script count spike DRASTICALLY and that's what makes sims crash
Minanakamura: it's a sim monitoring device i think not her but something is not right with it to eject someone that is shopping. the device sent me a message saying i was afk. when i wasn't. then it ejected me
so if the sim is on a magnum server, it can handle it... if anything send just a script count warning, I've seen that help a ton but ejecting people really makes it worse in my experience
CrackedMirror: omgg yes i think that people tp in/out spikes lag horribly. and i know this event all the vendors are scripted for the donation. a lot of scripts.
but like i said this is cajsa's first event so she may not know... and besides that this is like the 3rd day? So I think could prob do away with the script monitor lol. Let people spend $$
yeah... god i remember the growing pains and all the shit we had to go through with lag and sim crashes. spent hours and hours with lindens on the sim trying to sort things out lol. HELL
i hope so - the event is for such a good cause. i just wouldn't want to happen to others and prevent them from shopping/donating.
not trying to be a know it all or anything
