EVERYONE WHO IS NOT... HERE... i asked on vdex too and /crickets
i guess the sub thing is a bit much when everyone is poor TvT
cuz the only friends of mine who play are all people with a steady source of income
I saw an actual on-TV commercial for ffxiv it was fucking hilarious
I couldn't stop thinking about the fact that no one seems able to get bloody online, let alone about how much it must cost.
the cost is actually lower than other games that require sub fees, and the base game is pretty cheap too ($30 out the door)
but it probably adds up after a while, ahaha
that's the problem with sub fees isn't it :|a
two months of (any subscription mmo) costs me more than gw2 did and I can play that whenever I want for no more money
i know people who want to play but can't for various reasons ranging from can't get their code (hi fay) to got fed up with SE support etc
i figured i'd treat it as any ol' game, pay the price, play a month
if it's really really worth it i can scrape up the dough for extra subs
but as it is everyone's scattered into different worlds because of login issues...
a-and i really wanted to use it for roleplay. it is so... roleplayable.
like i dig gw2 (in case nobody noticed) but I wouldn't use it for RP, for some reason.
BECAUSE GW2 ISN'T KAWAII ENOUGH FOR RP
also FFXIV is very good about dumping tonnes and tonnes of lore into your lap even from the very beginning
and everyone talks in a very... fantasy-esque??? manner
i remember seeing people on reddit complain about how the people in ffxiv talk like how people do in game of thrones lmao
it's just a lot more immersive on the whole, i think.
like, gw2.. i mean, i played enough hours to get a character up to L35, but i still don't know much about the world or the lore lmao like everything i know is stuff you mentioned
or whatever i read in a wiki
which shouldn't have to happen, honestly
ALSO IT WILL BE TWO WEEKS SINCE SHIPPING COME TOMORROW i will be really disappoint if it hasn't arrived

(( US to Canada shipping is ASS
oh yeah, i find that the community in GW2 is a little more... fragmented? for me there isn't any compelling reason to try to party up and make friends. since the game is really non-linear,
it's really easy to just solo grind to 80. or join an event train (which doesn't really require much communication either)
but ffxiv's story is so central to the game that people are pretty much compelled to keep following it (whether for the story itself or the exp ahaha) and since party dungeons are included... O 3O
