Ok - I can understand that. So let me throw this out there - We have Ode and Oubliette, we are thinking of renting for residential purposes - Both are heavilly landscaped. There ARE some stores on both sims

but if we had interested renters for those sims, I think we'd compromise some of the landscaping (this is more an issue on Oubliette than anywhere else) in order to accommodate renters

you probably want some community guidelines in place for acceptable styles (not just for the shops, but the other renters so the entire community as a whole looks nice), but i can see the ability to bring a

The rentals on Ode are currently cottages that get rented out, Oubliette would wind up getting altered to allow this sort of thing to happen though. But I think we are trying to figure out if Oubliette is

house of the right style being a draw. maybe with the offer of landscaping around it after installation, as you're really good at that?

worth saving for that purpose - Obviously we love Oubliette and want to keep her, she's a chunk of me but She has always sort of been the black sheep of the two sims so we are wondering if there would be

(i have never done the residential thing though, so i'm just speculating)

nod Allegory I think we are more willing to compromise if it means keeping her in some semblance of what she is, if that makes any sense?

Like Oubliette would want more Rustic style houses on her, rather than modern condos

Honestly? Right now, I have empty land, and I'm struggling so hard to do anything with it. Offering a mix might be good - one sim of fully landscaped with house, and maybe one sim that's terraformed, but

you can do your own house and landscaping.

or, you can bring your own house that fits the feel of the sim, or we can provide one for you, your choices being _

Oubliette is seasonal while Ode is always springy/summery

And both sims welcome and encourage wandering around and visitors

But I dont understand and never have understood why Oubliette gets hardly any traffic, its kind of heartbreaking.

This feedback is helping enormously. <3

people don't seem to get out and explore a lot. traffic seems more based on socializing, events/clubs/etc

You might want to give a list of pre-approved houses, and then make it clear that they're welcome to ask about ones that fit in that style, but that you must approve them first.

^that is perfectly reasonable to any themed sim, you go search a themed house and you are sure you will never have a n ugly neighbor's house ruining your view

same as Isa and Vanity

I lived on a themed simmed before where the entire sim was fully landscaped to a degree. There was a covenant in place that restricted the types of homes that would fit the sim itself and landscaping

but we were able to put our own homes down and landscape so long as it followed the community guidelines and I didn't mind that since my aesthetic was very similar

I prefer doing it all myself. But I also prefer to live on water, so landscaping isn't a huge issue.
