picking out apples for a pie he was planning to bake. It was that time of the year.
((what is he again? sorry im on my phone so i cant double check))
((technically he's a ghost, he just doesn't know it.))
((oh ok right. is he a she? or am i rmembering wrong))
((yeah she, I forgot that myself. ><;; ))
((Eh, pretend that he is a she.))
hums to himself, looking over the selection of fruits before nearly bumping into her, but stopping short. "Ah, sorry miss, I nearly didn't see you there," he smiles.
blinks at that looking over at him and smiling a bit awkwardly. Really she was used to people not noticing her. "Oh it's okay, I'm kind of not paying attention."
smiles sweetly at her. "It's not okay, a beautiful lady like you should never be ignored," he hums, though noticing something was off about her.
flushed slightly at that, she was still holding an apple in her hand. "I don't mind, really." She looked back at the apple and added to her basket before she offered her hand, "I'm Mattie."
hums softly, reaching to take her hand and kiss the back of it when she offers. "I'm Francis, and you are lovely," he smiles.
hadn't been expecting him to be so... suave? she smiled at him though, less awkward now. "It's nice to meet Francis."
had much practice in being suave! "It's nice to meet you too cherie. I must say, I've not met a beauty so out of this world, tell me, what's your secret?" he smiles flirtatiously.
looked a bit embarrassed as she shifted and flushed darker. "Apple pie?" she looked at the apples she'd been picking out. "I bake a lot." She didn't know what else to say.
arches a brow at this, looking interested. "Apple pie...?" he asks, believing her for a second. "That must be phenomenal pie!"
laughs a bit at that as she shook her head lightly. "I'm joking, probably doesn't help at all, but it does taste good."
laughs a little, smiling at that. "Ah well... you never know what strange things exist in this world, hm?" he chuckles, picking out a few oranges for himself. "Hmm, would you like to join me for a drink
after we finish here, madamoiselle," he smiles, wanting to get to know her better... and figure out what seemed odd.
blinks at the question as she glanced down at her apples again, "sure. I don't really have to be anywhere."
smiles happily. "Then you make me very happy, miss. Merci~ "
couldn't help but return his smiles, they were almost infectious. "You're the one who's being so kind to me."
hums softly, shaking his head a little. "You deserve all the kindness in the world, miss, I am simply trying to treat you that way you deserve," he smiles happily, and would be glad to know his smiles
laughed a bit at that and nodded, "ah well thank you for that then." She looked down at the apples she had already picked out, she figured she had enough.
picks up a few pears and a mango himself, before deciding he was done as well. "Of course, cherie. Now, would you like to check out now, or do you need more..?"
looked over the few things in her basket and smiled, "I've got everything I need."
smiles at that, offering her his arm to escort her to the cash like a gentleman then. "Wonderful, shall we then~?"
hesitated for a moment before she gently took the offered arm. She wasn't at all used to people acting this way around her. "You to kind."
smiles as she takes his arm, leading her up to the cashier. "It's my pleasure dear," he hums, noticing her touch seemed awfully light.
set her basket down on the belt as she followed him, she let him put his stuff down first before she put her's down behind it.
hums, about to insist when he notices her insistence. He smiles and thanks her, ringing through his groceries quickly before stepping aside to let her through as well.
had disappeared from her spot in the line while he'd been paying. Her apples still sitting on the conveyor belt.
turns back to her once he's done, though he startles and looks around when he doesn't see her. He's a little confused by that, but he lets the cashier ring through her items and decides to pay for
them, assuming she had maybe just gone to grab something she had forgotten.
stood outside, she knew she was waiting for someone but she couldn't recall who exactly. She tucked her hands into the pockets of her coat as she glanced inside.
stands at the end of the aisle waiting for her to come back for a few moments before feeling too conspicuous. He finally gives up, heading to wait for her outside, and blinking when
he saw her again. "Ah cherie, I was wondering where you went?" he smiles, stepping up to her.
blinked and looked over t him, looking a bit confused as she glanced at the store. "I've been out here the whole time?"
looks just as confused now, looking back to the store briefly before holding up the bag of her groceries. "But I have the apple pie stuff you picked out right here..?"Something was definitely strange about her.
looked at the bag and blinked eyes going wide. "Oh I'm so sorry!" She fished through her pocket for her wallet, when she found it she pulled out a few crumpled bills and handed them to him.
smiles and shakes his head, passing her back the cash. "If you allow me to stick around for a piece of pie, that would more than enough payment in return~" he smiles suavely.
nods slowly and smiles. "I think I can manage that." She nodded, reluctantly taking the money back from him and tucking it away.
smiles happily at that, nodding. "Then lead the way madamoiselle, and I shall carry your bag for you," he offers.
smiled at that and nodded as she headed towards her house. She was a bit confused by him and why he was being so nice to her.
hums happily, following along with her. He still couldn't quite figure out what she was... she felt like she wasn't all there, but at the same time when he did see her she was completely tangible.
paused outside her house when she got to it, it looked like no one lived had lived there for a while. She opened the door and went inside.
blinks up at the house, pausing on the walkway to look it over in confusion. "Is this really your house...?" he asks, hurrying to follow her inside even though it seemed like there was no way anyone lives here,
let alone a beautiful woman.
looked over at him and nodded slowly. "Yes... I've lived here for as long as I can remember?"
hums, looking confused still. "...when did you move in...?" he asks, figuring asking how long she'd been here might not help with her apparent memory issues.
thought about that and shrugged, "I don't know?" she looked really confused at that as she moved through the house to the kitchen. "I'm sorry, I'm not good with... remembering things."
sighs a ltitle. That didn't help. "Ah, never mind then," he hums, setting the groceries down on the counter. "Does anyone else live here with you...?"
shakes her head as she had to think about that. "My boyfriend? I think.... maybe..." she looked really confused about that.
blinks at this, feeling a little disappointed. "Ah... maybe..?" he echoes, looking around to see if there were signs of life.
shrugs and frowns a bit at herself. "I don't really know. I don't even know..." she looked liked she was trying to think about something before she moved about the kitchen instead starting to bake the pie.
hums, watching her curiously. He still hadn't been able to place what exactly was her deal, but he also wasn't sure if he wanted to stick around to be found by a boyfriend either.
glanced over at him and smiled sweetly. "Are you okay?" she was peeling apples and humming softly.
hums softly, smiling at her. "I am my dear, I'm just wondering about you."
looked confused as she handed him an apple and a peeler. "About me?"
takes the offered items, getting to work. "Oui, about you. There's a strange energy about you, but I just cannot come to decide what it is. Care to enlighten me, cherie?"
set aside one apple and went to work on another. "Strange energy?" She looked confused at that as she finished with the apples she had and stared on the pie crust.
smiles a little. "Mhmm. Like how I am sure you've noticed I'm quite a bit warmer than usual humans. Yours is like no living creautre I've seen before though..." and saying that outloud, he wondered why
it felt so much like she was in fact, not living.
paused as she held onto the bowl of dough that she was mixing. She hadn't actually noticed that he was warmer, "living?" she tilted her head, "I'm sorry I don't know what you mean."
blinks at this, looking up to her. "You....you aren't human, correct?" he asks, getting more confused.
stared at him. "I am human?" she wasn't sure what he was talking about.
...looks even more lost. "Huh? In that case, perhaps you're a mage or something similar...?"
slowly looking more and more confused as she shook her head again. "No? I'm a human... I always have been."
blinks, at a loss... before he gets a hunch. "Wait... when were you born?"
to think about that as she shifted a bit, "1967. I'm 22." She frowned a bit, staring at him. She really wasn't sure what he was getting at.
hums, sighing a little and smiling at her. "Ah, my bad then, I'm sorry for doubting you," he apologizes. He had heard rumours of ghosts not knowing they died, but is the first time he had ever met one. Hearing
her age really cinched it for him, since he had no idea what else she could have been.
stared at him completely confused before she went back to making the pie. "You're still planning on staying for pie right?"
smiles at this and nods, returning to peeling the apples. "If you don't mind me staying still?"
shakes her head, "no of course not." She smiled over at him, "why would I mind?"
hums softly, smiling. "No reason, cherie. Just checking." The poor girl...
watched him curiously before she went back to making the pie, taking her time with the crust and making the filling the once all the apples were peeled.
occupies himself with finishing the apples, before moving to help her make the filling. He wondered if there was anything he could do to help her...
thanked him happily, she was enjoying this. She couldn't remember the last time she had just hung out with someone.
smiles, leaning in to steal a kiss on the cheek when she was distracted with hands full, just to tease a little. He liked seeing her smile.
flushed and looked a bit startled by that as she glanced over at him. "You're cute Francis."
laughs a little. "I am glad you think so, cherie~"
smiled at him as she went back to focusing on the pie. It wasn't long till she got it into the oven.
smiles, eventually backing off to let her finish and watching her.
hummed while she worked, once it was in the oven she moved to sit on the counter as she put the timer on. "Thank you for helping."
hums softly, stepping over beside her. "Of course, madamoiselle~ Anything for a pretty lady such as yourself."
laughed softly at that and lightly shook her head, "I'm not all that pretty. But thank you for the compliment."
smiles at her, reaching up to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and marvelling that remained so consistently solid. "You're gorgeous cherie, and don't let anyone try and convince you otherwise."
looked a bit embarrassed at that as she watched him. "You think I'm odd."
hums softly. "Perhaps a little, but in a good way," he promises.
nodded slowly and combed a hand through her hair. "I don't really remember a lot of things."
smiles at that, hopping up to sit on the counter next to her. "Well, that part's not good, unfortunately. I wish I could help you with that...."
shrugs as she looked over at him, she liked his company. He was friendly and oddly easy to talk to. "It's fine. So tell me more about yourself Fancis?"
hums softly, smiling. "Well, I'm older than I look, I fly for a living, and I enjoy long walks on moonlit beaches~" he teases, though really it was all true.
laughed softly at that as she watched him, "well that all sounds wonderful."
nods, laughing softly. "How about you, miss?"
shrugs a bit as she folded her hands in her lap. "I... I really love baking... and..." she looked confused for a moment, "I'm not that exciting to talk about."
hums softly at that, smiling at her and rubbing her back. "I'm sure you're plenty interesting, cherie."
shakes her head as she unthinkingly leaned into the hand on her back. "Not really, but thank you."
smiles, sliding his arm around her. "You are, I promise," he smiles. "You have an air of mystery about you that I bet people et drawn in by all the time."
looked a bit embarrassed by that as she shook her head again. "Not really, I mean most of the time people don't notice me... I a lot of the time I feel like I'm... missing something important."
hums softly, shaking his head. "Is it just because of your memory problem...?" he ventures, not sure if it was proper to tell a ghost they were dead or not.
frowns as she looked down at her clasped hands in her lap. "No... I'm sorry I doubt I'm making much sense." The timer for the pie went off with that and she almost leaped off the counter to get it out.
smiles at her. "It's alright..." he manages, before she jumps off the counter so suddenly. He hums softly, leaning forward with her a little. "...are they done, then?"
pulled the pie out and smiled as she looked it over and set it on the counter. "Em hm!" She got out a single plate and a knife and pie server to dish up a slice for him.
hums happily, hopping down as well. "It smells delicious," he smiles, taking the plate and thanking her with a cheek kiss.
smiled at him and couldn't hide the light blush at the kiss on her cheek. She moved to take a seat after she'd turned off the oven and wrapped up the rest of the pie. "I hope if tastes as good as it looks."
smiles back at her, sitting back down and humming. "Are you going to have a slice...?" he asks.
blinks at the question and shakes her head lightly, "oh I'm not hungry at all."
hums softly, taking a bite and smiling. "Well, in that case you are missing out. This is absolutely delicious~"
smiled at him as she rested her head on her hands. "Oh well I am just glad that you enjoy it."
smiles at her. "It's wonderful cherie. You are a great chef."
looked embarrassed all over again as she shook her head, "I just enjoy baking. It makes people happy."
smiles happily, savouring each bite of pie. "It seems like you must had many years of practice," he hums.
shakes her head, "no not at all." She glanced around the kitchen as if expecting someone else to come into the room. "I feel like... I've been waiting for something." She blinked and shrugged, "I'm sorry."
hums softly, blinking up at that. "Waiting for something? Like what...?"
thought about it as she sat there, running her fingers through her hair. "For someone to come home? I don't know, it's silly though, cause I live alone." She looked over at him, "and I am going later tonight."
hums thoughtfully at this, curious now how she died. "Going where, my dear? And didn't you say you lived with a boyfriend..?"
shakes her head lightly, "oh no... he's... well I dunno." She shrugged a bit, "I'm going to dinner tonight with him."
smiles, leaning forward a little. "Where are you going to go then, if you don't mind me asking?"
blinks and shrugs a bit, "we're going out to dinner." She smiled at that, "I just got my full license too, so I'll get to drive."
pauses, and his smile saddens a little at the realization that that might have been her cause. "Ah, that's exciting then! I hope you have a lot of fun~"
watched him carefully, she blinked when she noticed how his smile changed. "Is everything okay?"
hums softly, before shaking his head. "Oh, yes. I'm fine. Just... please be careful, alright?" he smiles, knowing that if she was a ghost like he thought, she'd be doomed to repeat it.
looked confused and nodded with a bright smile. "Oh of course," that gave her pause though and she looked down at the pie on the counter. "I feel like I've done this all before... I mean you're new."
hums softly, finishing off the last bite of his pie. "...deja vu of the worst variety, perhaps?" he answers, getting up and coming over to sit down next to her, taking her hand. "Perhaps you'd like
to do something a little different, then~?"
had gotten distracted by her thoughts she almost jumped a bit when she felt him take her hand. "Different?"
smiles at that, and nods. "Yes. Like, I could take you on a walk in the park, or to see a film, or have a little less innocent fun, if you'd like~" he winks.
blinked and stared at him looking more confused than she had before. "Less innocent?" she really didn't know what he meant by that, "I wouldn't mind doing something different. I mean dinner isn't that
grins a little. "You know.. like going to.. makeout point, or whatever it's called," he winks, trying to think of what someone in her time would've called it. "Excellent though, cherie~"
stared at him and nodded a bit, "ah... is there a place like that?" she didn't really know. She smiled at him, still confused.
hums softly. "You are truly innocent, aren't you?"
tilts her head and looks embarrassed at that, "I-I'm not innocent..."
smiles, coming over to steal a slow kiss. "You are, and it's adorable," he hums softly.
flushed darkly at that, she hadn't expect it at all. She looked away from him to hide the flush. "I've just been waiting."
hums softly. "For your boyfriend?"
shakes her head, "he's not the right guy..." she looked down at her lap. "Sorry..."
smiles softly, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "It's alright dear, there's nothing to apologize for."
leaned into him without thinking, "why are you being so nice to me?"
hums. "Because I think you're precious, my dear."
closed her eyes as she leaned against him, "but we just met."
shrugs gently, running fingers through her hair. "So? What I have learned of you so far makes you a very interesting person."
liked the hand in her hair it was nice. "You're really nice Francis."
smiles at that. "I try my best to be~"
looked up at him smiled. "Oh you wanted to do something? Walk or something? Or a drive?"
hums softly. "A walk might be preferable, on such a lovely night. If you'd like, that is?"
nods as she seemed to brighten again. "A walk sounds nice."
smiles at that, standing and offering a hand to her. "A walk it is, then."
took his hand and stood, "lead the way sir."
hums softly, leading her outside into the cool night air and down the street at a leisurely pace.
walked with him contently enjoying the night air. She couldn't help but feel like she had to be doing something though.
unaware of that feel as he walked with her hand in hand, steering them more out of the way from suburbsin case something did happen.
hardly noticed, se was enjoying the walk though. It was nice out.
would agree with that~ He hums softly to himself, not really knowing where to go but just following his feet.
glanced over at him and smiled a bit, she shifted closer to him and looked around. "Thank you... for spending some time with me tonight. I feel like I kind of interrupted your whole evening."
chuckles softly, shaking his head. "Not at all my dear. I've quite enjoyed spending this evening with you."
looked over at him again curiously but she stayed quiet. She didn't quite know what to make of him yet.
hums softly, seeing her look him over and smiling back at her. "See something interesting~?" he teases, gently squeezing her hand.
blinks and smiles a bit, "you're pretty interesting." She smiled as she returned the light squeeze.
smiles at this, pausing their walk under a tree to stand in front of her. "You know, I've been wondering all night what it would be like to kiss you..." he murmurs softly, bringing his other hand up to
brush her hair back. "Would you allow me the pleasure?"
stopped and looked over at him with a deep blush. She blinked and stared at him for a long moment, not sure what to say at first. "Well you have kissed me once." She pointed out with a small
smile. "But I wouldn't mind a proper kiss."
chuckles softly. "Indeed. I meant a fuller kiss, I suppose, your beauty has me forgetting myself," he smiles charmingly. He's happy with the permission, trailing gentle fingers down her jaw and leaning in to
really thought he was just saying that now, but she wasn't going to complain about it. She leaned in and kissed him softly, letting one of her hands rest on his shoulder.
hums softly against her lips, deepening the kiss and gently exploring her mouth. He wraps his arm around her back to hold her close, happy with this.
lightly pressed against him as she enjoyed the kiss. It was warm and sweet and she didn't want to let him go any time soon.
smiles against her lips, sliding a hand up her bck gently. She was cooler than most humans, but not in a bad way. He eventually pulls back after a few moments, smiling at her softly.
looked a bit embarrassed when he finally pulled away. She looked up at him before she leaned in again to rest her head on his shoulder. "You're warm."
chuckles softly at this, holding her close. "I'm pretty much a heater, aren't I," he smiles, rubbing her back. "I will keep you warm if you are cold, cherie~"
looked up at him and smiled, she shifted so she could lightly brush her fingers along his jaw. "I'm not that cold."
smiles down at her, wrapping his arms around her waist. "Are you sure? I know some good ways to warm you up~~"
tilted her head a bit as she watched him, still letting her fingers trace along his jaw line. "Oh?" she was genuinely curious about that.
grins teasingly down at her, sliding his hands down to give her rear a gentle squeeze. "Mhmm~ A little bit of physical activity, is all~"
flushed darker and made a small sound as she bit her lower lip lightly. "That sounds like fun."
hums happily.. he knew she thought she had a boyfriend, and also was a ghost.. but really, why would that matter, he reasoned. He grins, slipping his arms around her and picking her
up princess style, kissing her again as he heads to a little grassy patch.
had apparently forgotten about said boyfriend, as she startled at being picked up. One arm wrapped around his shoulders, the other clutching at his shirt as she kissed him back.
would be happy for that, really. He hums gently against her lips, pulling away only to ake sure he's at an okay spot before laying her down, leaning over her and kissing her again once she's settled.
settled into the grass and pulled him closer, wrapping both her arms around his shoulders and kissing him back. She was enjoying the kisses.
hums happily, pleased she seemed to be enjoying it aw well. He presses closer, running his hand up her thigh gently, exploring.
slowly slid her fingers into his hair humming softly into kiss. His touch was warm and inviting and she wanted more.
smiles gently, squeezing her thigh as he breaks the kiss to trail a line down her neck as he pushes her dress up. "Just tell me if you want me to stop," he murmurs, nipping at her earlobe.
closed her eyes and tilted her head back a bit, combing her fingers through his hair. "I... I don't want you to stop." She flushed shivered with the nip and moaned softly, flushing darker.
