out for a quick flight, though he notices something interesting down below. He swoops in quietly, settling on a branch above the fae's house.
didn't notice anything as he focused on trimming back vines and clearing out any weeds. Occasionally he paused to brush his fingers over the peddles of a rose or an orchid.
flits down a few branches to get closer, watching him curiously. He'd never actually met such a creature before, though he did know of them in his travels.
noticed one of his flowers wilting and he reached over to lightly brushed one of it's leaves and it slowly regained it's colour and bloomed again.
tilts his head a little in interest, always liking to find other healers. They usually proved to make for better friends. He lets a feather fall into the other's garden, curious if the creature
would recognize it, or even notice.
turned to tend to another bush when he noticed the feather on the ground. He tilted his head and reached out to pick it up but stopped instead looking up into the trees.
flutters his wings a little, smiling as much as a bird could. "Bonjour~" he greets when Arthur finally looks up.
blinks and stares at the bird for a long moment, okay so he'd heard of these birds before, never seen one but... "a French bird..." he picked up the feather and looked it over.
twitters a little, a laughing sound. "I can speak English too," he teases. His feathers shone and sparkled a little more than a regular bird's would.
stood and watched the bird curiously with that, "Uh huh... So what's a phoenix doing out here?"
hums, leaning a little closer. "I'm exploring. Looking for new and more interesting things to do. Long lives tend to get boring, don't they," he smiles.
folded his arms over his chest and raised a thin eye brow up at him. He had pulled a light glamor over himself, not quite his full human one. "Not when you live near this town apparently."
watches the glamour slide into place in interest, before transforming himself to a more human-like look as well. Feathers still ran down his arms and through his hair, and his eyes shone brighter gold
than a human's could. "Oh? Have I foud myself a good place to nest for a while then?" he grins happily.
watched him with his own level of curiosity, still holding the feather between his fingers. "I don't know, I like to keep to myself out here."
preens himself a little, smoothing down a feather in his hair. "You are fairly far from the city, I hadn't expected to see a house out here."
looked over at his cottage and shrugged a bit, "I like it..." he paused before he shifted to hand the feather back to him. "Humans tend to stay away."
nods, swinging his legs a little as he looked over the cottage. "Mm I could see that, oui. And you can be yourself out here~" he smiles, looking down to admire the man's lithe build and ethereal looks.
watched him for a moment before he looked over at his cottage. "Yes... would you like to come in for a cup of tea?" He really wasn't used to people here.
hums, smiling at that and nodding. "Tea would be lovely, if it's no bother?" He carefully jumps down from his branch, arms back to wings momentarily to help his landing before he retracts them again.
waited for him to come down before he moved about collecting some of his gardening tools and putting them away in a small shed attached to the aide of his cottage before he headed inside, inviting him in.
smiles follwing along after him and running a hand through his hair to smooth down the feathers again. "What a lovely little home," he comments looking around.
put the kettle over the fire and found two cups as he raised a brow. "Thank you."
hums, wandering around, peeking at the way this guy lived, curious. "Has it always just been you here?"
pulled a tin of tea leaves he'd grown and collected himself making two tea balls he dropped one into each cup. "Yes... left the rest of my... friends back home."
looks up again at that, wandering over to the kitchen. "Home being...?" he asks curiously.
waited for the kettle to whistle as he looked over at him. "Home..." he didn't really want to answer that. "Across the pond. So how long have you been here?"
hums at that, curious, but willing to let it slide considering he did that same around people he was uncomfortable with. "Hmm. Almost a hundred years now, I suppose." He considers. "Though I did fly
back to home for a period in the middle there."
moved to grab the kettle when it boiled, pouring them both a cup he let it steep. "Ah... oh my name is Arthur." He held his hand out to him, a bit ashamed that it had taken him so long to introduce himself.
smiles at that, stepping forward to shake his hand, being careful of his temperature. "Francis. It's a pleasure to meet you, Arthur."
shook his hand lightly and nodded, "it's a pleasure to meet you as well Francis."
smiles. "And thank you for the tea~" he hums, letting go in favour of picking up his cup.
nods and smiles at that as he picked up his own cup after pulling out the milk and sugar.
hums, waiting for Arthur to serve hsi own before adding plenty of sugar and a splash of milk to his cup.
raised a brow at him as he watched him add lots of sugar to it.
grins back at him, giving his tea a stir before sipping it. Ahh, sugar made it great!
took a seat in the living room and sipped his tea. "So what are you doing out here?"
follows him, sitting facing him. "I was out for... well, I can't call it a walk, but it's the same concept," he laughs a little. "Just one of those days you need to get out of the house, you know?"
nods a bit as he leaned back against the couch. "Ah yes, I was enjoying my gardening."
hums softly. "If you'd like to return to it, I can leave," he offers, sipping his tea.
shakes his head at that, "no it's fine honest
smiles at that, relaxing a bit. "Merci, cher~"
sipped his tea quietly, not minding the company so much. "So you like being around the humans?"
hums softly. "I do. They're such interesting creatures, it's hard not to like them after living among them so long."
took another sip of his tea as he listened curiously. "I don't know... I'm not overly fond of them."
looks a little surprised. "No? How come?"
shrugs as he sipped his tea. " Then like to kill things they don't understand."
hums at this, and nods. "Well, that's true... I suppose that's less of a worry for one like myself," he chuckles. "I can't help but be intrigued by the way they continually insist things like us aren't real~"
nodded and laughed a bit, "yes we do seem to allude them."
chuckles softly. "It'd be nice to not have to hide, though," he sighs. He was quite proud of his feathers after all.
nods as he looked over himself and sighed. "Yes it would be nice not to have to hide all the time. "
hums softly. "Someone should start a revolution."
raised a brow at that, "Emm not enough of us for that."
considers that, and shrugs. "Perhaps, perhaps not. Some might be better at hiding than others..."
took took another sip of tea and nodded. "I suppose so."
hums, smiling. "Imagine if we actually outnumbered humans, but just didn't realize it. That'd be amazing," he chuckles.
grins a bit into his cup. "But then there would be no one to tease or hunt."
chuckles at that. "Hmm, so true. Life would be so boring~"
shifted to set his cup down as he nodded, "yes it would be."
leans back in his chair a bit. "Do you hunt them, then?"
shakes his head, "children when the come to close to place or anyone who harms anything around here. I'm not fond of people slighting my home."
hums at that, nodding. "I could see that. You didn't seem fond of me at first either," he laughs.
looks a bit embarrassed at that but nods slowly. "You we're hurting anything though. I've had kids come and rip out my roses or have bon fires close by or do other things."
smiles. "True. I could've burnt your house down in an instant, but I didn't. Those kids sound nasty. Do you often get them out here?"
shakes his head, "not so often no." He was rather glad the other hadn't done such a thing.
tended not to do such things unless he was really pissed off. "Well, that's good then~" he smiles, finishing off his tea and setting it aside.
