So, my design teacher, Mr Fong told me a little story on why it's good to make mistakes on drawings & models but never in real life...
The project he's currently working on is an underwater geothermal plant. (in the ocean).
The engineers not only undersized several major components of the plant but also ordered the wrong type of building materials (regular stuff instead of salt-water proof stuff)
so now the plant is basically like the Titanic & it's costing hundreds of millions of dollars.
